So this is my first time going to Belmont period, let alone of stakes day. To anyone who has been before where should I sit? Grandstand, apron, clubhouse? How early should I get there, should I reserve seating if going to the clubhouse?

I'm a newbie when it comes to all the stakes stuff so I'm not sure how busy it's going to be early on and if reservations for certain seats need to be made. Going with tradition I will be dressing up nicely for it, so at least that's out of the way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! And for anyone going that wants to kick back a Breeze and argue over handicapping, look me up, maybe lol.

Tickets

Basically, most can't afford the high price of the tickets. I think just to get int the infield at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Derby day is around $40.00. You're probably looking at prices of several hundred ($600.00 plus) dollars, if you could get them at all. Heck, maybe even $1,000.00 and up.

Hm the website says General

Hm the website says General Admission is $20 per person on Belmont day and $20 for clubhouse, $10 for Grandstand.

Good luck

On getting tickets at that price. I was actually thinking of Kentucky Derby seating prices. Maybe they won't be as high as I thought, at Belmont Park, but I don't thnk they'll be as cheap as you're thinking. Also, parking might be a problem. Might be best to take a bus.
I would think that because of the posibility of a Triple Crown winner, seating would be in high demand, thus driving the prices up.JMHO

I think

I think those prices you are looking at are just like General Admission to those areas. There's free seating in those areas, but it's probably going to be really crowded and standing room only. There's no infield seating at Belmont, so it's like the general mulling around area for 'common folk'
Otherwise, seats seem to be going for $110+

Get on their web site to get available information

When I go to big races I get General Admission, they are the least expensive, no seats unless you bring a folding camping chair. I like to walk around and take pictures of the horses, owners, trainers and other things going on so staying stationary is not for me when horses like Zenyatta were racing or for the Breeders Cup.

On some normal season races the track sends me a free Club House voucher to be turned in for a ticket (on the tracks slow days when they want to boost attendance) for one person so if I go with someone else we'll just buy a Clubhouse ticket and we both kick back and watch from our seats.

Big events can be expensive so getting on their website early and buying your tickets on line prior to the event you should be able to see which seats are available and possibly get a better deal and you may also be able to print the tickets at home so no service charge. When you contact the track via the web you can give them your email and they will send you information on discounts, giveaway days (Bobble heads, ball caps, etc.) at the track. Currently I get offers from Santa Anita and Hollywood Park. I have pictures on my Profile under "Users Photos" that will give you an example of what I am referring to.

I hope this information helps and wish you have a great time and witness history being made.

Fuggedaboutit.

Two days before The Preakness tickets were going for $45. After I'll Have Another won the Preakness, Belmont Park transferred ticket sales to Ticketron. Last I saw the cheapest tickets were going for $175.

I will be in NYC on June 9Th, but there is no way on Earth that I am going to spend over a Grand for me and my family to go to Belmont.

If there was a snowball's chance in hell that I'll Have Another would win, I may have actually considered it.
But it is laughable to even fantasise that he has a shot.

I was there in 1973, 1977, and 1978 so I saw the last Three TC winners. So I've had my share anyway.
