OK everyone. Can I'll Have Another end the Triple Crown drought this year? I'm interested to see what everyone thinks.

I don't think so, Smith will

I don't think so, Smith will not make the same mistake again if the let him ride the horse. He blew that race. Cant see Bodemiester losing the shorter race. The Belmont could be different but I'm still sold on the miester.

preakness\belmont

i think UNION RAGS had a legit excuse, got squeezed back coming out at the gate, recoved late. still ran a good race i think he has the juice to win both the preakness and the belmont. of course i think UNION RAGS will have to hold off CREATIVE CAUSE in the BELMONT.

If Bodemeister's trip is

If Bodemeister's trip is different and less forward in the Belmont, look for him to be more challenging. I'll Have Another can and will probably close on him but if Bodemeister doesn't open up such a large lead all around the race track I think he'll have enough gas left in the tank to hold off I'll Have Another. I'd be looking at these two. Most of the other major contenders placed off the board and deep in the pack. Might be the 20 horse field that created bad trips for everyone but IHA drawing post 19 managed to get clear and win.

ZITO

I havent been following the Triple Crown this year but from past experience you can almost count on Nick Zito entering someone in the Belmont that will be very well rested and noone has heard about yet. He loves to win in NY on the big day.

ILL have another is the real

ILL have another is the real deal. I know the track was fast but the final time was racehorse time and he could pull off the triple crown he has enough speed and the stamina to do it. All of the top three horses are legit. The crop this year is petty good

That's how sure I am he won't pull off the feat. I gave a detailed account to as why so many people's favorite racers wouldn't win the Derby (including but not limited to Hansen and Gemologist). If you read my post 24 in that thread, you will see that I did not rule out I'll have another, because behind Uniong Rags(who dissapointed me terribly)and Bodemeister, he was my number 3 horse this year. I honestly felt he had a shot to win if rags and Bode wasn't in the race.
To my great surprise he acted as if they were not in it, and stole the show. Though highly interesting, I was not at all surprised. This is a very good colt. The fact remains, he is not the best horse on the track this year. JMHO. As the length shortens look for horses that I was able to rule out for the derby, such as Hansen, Take charge Indy, and Gemologist, to have a much better shot of reaching the finish line first.
Not to say that Union Rags and Bodemeister won't also apply thier will on the rest of the field. But with I'll have another winning the derby, it allows for other trainers and horses to realize that these favorites can be beat. As well as understanding that these slightly lower rated horses have the ability to run with, and under the right conditions beat these top tier horses. I won't go as far as to say that we will have 3 different winners. But I would not at all be surprised if this were to happen.(including a name in there that hasnt been seen as a favorite all year)
I know what you are thinking. Who is this moredoe guy, and what makes him such an expert? Well I'll tell you this, My ability to dissect the Derby this year was not by luck my friends. It was done the same way that I have learned this great game. Lots of hours of studying, and great indepth research into the trainers , horses and jockeys. I understand that my handicapping will be scrutinized with each word that I place in the forum, so I take great pride in making sure that every word holds some ground before I type it. So you can take it to the bank when I say " We will see some good competition, and another shocker or two in there. And by no means will I'll Have Another be named amongst the great horses who have come home with the coveted title of Triple Crown winner".
That being said, I wish you all luck and skill in the upcoming events, and remember every horse has his day.
