It has been brought to my attention lately that some of the newer folks to HRF are not aware of the shenanigans that go on in the red restricted tournaments, well for those that dont know here it goes....

If you think that your 112BSR horse who just ran an 89 speed figure is a cinch to win a 90 red restricted race your absolutely wrong. There are a few in here who put there high120's and some 130's into races they cant possibly run well in so they can achieve low speed rating numbers and enter their high BSR horses into low red restricted tournaments. It has gotten so bad that i have seen some enter 2 red restricted tournaments after their initial race with a low speed figure.

Im not here to condemn those trainers, after all HRF calls them "savvy" but i just wanted some of the newer players to be aware of something that goes on so they don't "donate" any money in those tournaments to those "savvy" trainers!

p.s...... do i get an apple now?

Reds

Red tournaments used to be pretty cool. But as you say Viking, there are some cheap trainers who will do whatever is necessary to get a cheap win.
One trainer performed this trick exactly as you said, he entered a big SR horse into a soft turf tournament, getting a low qualifying SR for a massive red restricted 90 event which was highly publicized by HRF, that would have a huge number of entries, which led to a massive payout.
This trainer thought he was "Free" to do as he thought right. After the tournament, he lanced with...ahem...danced with joy.
But this is what you people in here like to do.

I have a 126.5 in an under 100 Red right now. I entered it in a 2 year old insta that I thought I was going to be competitive in. It came in dead last with a low 90's SR. After reviewing all available tourneys, I figured that the only option was a 3 year old and up Red. I would love to be able to jump up a year using instas but that isn't possible. Call it what you may, but it is legal. I've done it with 130's also and there was a 134 I had that didn't make the finals in an under 100 Red. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. One thing is for sure, I have never entered a tourney to place last so I could get in a Red.

Maybe it's wrong

But it's not dishonesty and it's not unfair. Don't hate the player, hate the game. HRF sets it up perfectly for EVERYONE to do this if they want to.

I agree

I agree with all of you as this post was not made as a "is it right or wrong" but was made so the new trainers in the game have a heads up and can choose on their own wheather or not to enter the red restricted tournamments ..... special thanks to Twilday <<>> who has validated my point....

Same Mistake...

I thought I was kinda clever when I joined my first Red Tourney after a claim. I claimed a horse that just ran a 99.8 so I claimed him thinking it was a perfect fit for a Red......"WRONG"....It has since been brought to my attention what you just mentioned.

Reds

In Twilday's case, that really isn't the sin Flyingdaaka was making reference to. Twilday did not dishonestly enter his horse into an event for an intentional low SR to qualify for the red. His horse just sucked. LOL.
Nevertheless, it is not what the red tournaments were intended for. A 130 horse has no business in a red 100 tournament. Flyingdaaka once entered a 125 into a red 100 and won it so easily it wasn't any fun. Flyingdaaka then decided there would be no more of that.
Generally, those trainers that enter big horses into red tournaments are trainers who just don't win often. They are seeking a win any way they can. They are the trainers who generally have a less than 10% win percentage in the game, and need to win at all costs.
Good luck to them. Maybe they can win a red and have someone post "Congrats !!! Well done, mate !!"

There is no rules

I don't think we can blame the players but the game is just what is it. Some players do enter 130 + horses in red when they run low Sr. But we cant help it because some horses just cannot run. Maybe we should have new rules like 130+ cannot enter red tourny, 120+ cannot enter below 110 sr and 115 + cannot enter below 100 sr. Then whats the point of having a red tourny? It returns to what we have in blue and green. And these horses? we retire them! But hrf wants us to keep our horses as long as possible and pay the monthly fees
