I mostly use Grade 1. But not always. I haven't convinced myself that there's even a need to use different Grade. Don't even know if Grade 1 is the way to go. I was wondering what others think. Especially the successful trainers. Does this part of trainer game even come into play with your stratedgy??? Just curious.

I have been wondering about this also. I have noticed a slight difference, but not much.

I always train at Grade 1 to simulate the conditions of a tournament final.

I pretty much do the same thing. Same logic. But, I sometimes think there may be more to it than what we might think. The different Grades. Just a thought. I don't know. Surprisingly, there's been little discussion on this topic. I mean, very little.

you train your 100 bsr against the likes of here comes thunder ect.. you wont get the true sf in training i think.. if yor horse needs to get to the lead and is racing a horse much better you wont get his true capabilities.. he will tire out and look like complete garbage but if your racing horses with the same or close to the same he might look a lot betterB

Theres alot of top trainers are having success training with group 1 community horses. but im in opinion they are not good enough. The stable tourney winners are true indicators for me.

when i train my horses, i look for a tournament to enter then run practice races for each of the prelims, then the final. for the prelims in restricted tournaments i use the "ungraded stakes" setting, and GradeI for the final. for the Generals, whatever the grade for each prelim is(I-II-III) is the one i use.
