Poor poor Dutrow and Big Brown.
Heard over 5 mill was bet on him just at the track alone.
Still havent heard any reason why he ran so poorly.
I was so busy yesterday i didnt even make a bet!(Wasnt to excited about the race anyway)
Theres always next year!

It was a dissapointment for sure but it's all part of racing. I know Kent so I felt very bad for him and the rest of the team. He did the right thing to pull the horse up at the top of the stretch .
I did not bet the race either ,no value to find .
I think I will stick with our horse racing game and see Big Brown win the Belmont stakes here.
I was never on the Big Brown wagon for multiple reasons. People wanted to put him in the same breath as Secretariat. Quite frankly this has to be one of the weakest 3 year old divisions in the past 50 years. There were NO stand outs whatsoever.
I did not like Big Brown at all because of Dutrow. He's just way to cocky for my liking. He told the newspaper that he will be in the winners circle when they hit the top of the stretch. Then on the walk over he guranteed victory. Then he called out John Service saying he didn't train Smarty Jones right.
He was right about being in the winners circle as they hit the top of the stretch. He had to go through it to get to his pulled up horse.
This might be a little to much but who knows?

I know I have won the triple crown 10 x on big brown. But this is a different horse racing game then what took place at belmont race track yesterday
still the ones with the ultimate drive and passion will always stand out.. hats off to those like Ruffian, Barbaro and Eight Belles.. I was thinking of Eight Belles especially during the Belmont. It's horses like these that make the sport what it is.
The great ones and I mean the great ones are far and few between . Sometimes you do not even know how great they were till years later . Like good art.
Did you catch the Monday http://www.drf.com home page? Now Dutrow's "questioning" Kent's ride. What a crock (to use a gentle term). Virtually every other media outlet is praising Kent for slowing the horse down, but not the trainer. I was turned off Dutrow before all this, and now my respect for the man has really tanked.
Yeah he is still being his old self. He can't just accept that the horse was beat. He is just showing his class, thats all. Kent used to ride horses for my Grandfather in Maryland when he was unknown and he would give every little detail of what went on in the race. Once, it was clear he made the wrong move and tried to go inside when the hole closed up. We got 3rd and he came back and told my Unlce (who trains for my Grandfater) that it was his fault. He said he was sorry and will make the right move the next time.
If Kent messed up, he will tell you.
Kent gave the race horse a good ride. he had no horse casr closed. To try to blame this on kent is a joke. This is horse racing it's that simple .Things are not all roses in the sport of kings. race horses lose when they should win the race .
I think Kent did the right thing pulling Big B up.. at least he saved him from possibly straining himself, or an injury.. this way the horse is sound and can come back and win another race..
Sorry but I could not disagree more with your statement Mr Puddles....I am sure more will come out but Kent did a horrible job. He seemed to totally panic and let his nerves get the best of him. There was not need to yank Brownie to the outside and fight with him and bang him into other horses. He feared about getting pinched in and fought his horse the first quarter.
I seem to remember Stu Elliot taking tons of blame for the same thing and fighting with his horse in his race. Why is he not deserved of the same blame Stu got?
This horse may not have won either way but a jock is supposed to do his best to put the horse in a position to win and Kent did not do that and did the opposite.
Not saying there are not a bunch of other factors too.
The problem is Kent is my friend so its hard for me to blame him. I can see your point he was very nervous at the start of the race for sure. I still think a real champion horse would have delt with that issue no problem . I remember afleet alex going to his knees and still winning .
I want to give the big brown fella another shot ..I have a feeling he is real good race horse maybe just maybe a great one
I am not saying he is not an exceptional rider, he is....he just had an off race and unfortunately it was during one of the biggest races...for an a loudmouth owner and trainer.
Going to the outside was the best move he made in the race. If he stays inside no matter what people are going to complain. Thats what may have cost him the race when he ran up into Da' Tara and Tale Of Ekati. The obvious thing to do was point him to the outside and stay clear of all that mess. He was at most 6 wide...in the Derby he broke from the 20.
Dutrow needs a new excuse...maybe he can just say the horse didn't run? Wouldn't that be the logical answer?
getting to the outside may have been the right idea but he did not need to do it there...and in the process get stepped on and bang into another horse. Brown was clearly upset and fighting the move, as evidenced by the throwing of his head. Let the horse settle then move.
This race clearly only had two speed horses....so if he waited until the first turn was over... the move could have been made without yanking, banging and stepping. The only horse to get around would have been the eventual winner. So I do not buy that was the time and place to make that move....it was a very very poor execution on a a plan.
he should have let him run to the lead!!!!!!!!!! he did every time in the sim race and won every time!!!!!!
jerry bailey and gary stevens both went on record saying kent did a bad job. i love kent too hes an awesome rider but bb looked lost going into that 1st turn. that being sd i dont think kent loses the mount in the haskell or travers altough edgar prado is dying to ride bb, one of dutrows main riders.
kent steadied the horse to not get pinched n then turned damn near 7 WIDE ON THE BELMONT TURN....if anyone plays this game enough then it would be easy to spot the extreme wide trip. it seemed tale of ekati veered out gradually on the turn once bb took the outside.
there were numerous reasons why the horse lost. if anything, kent probably knew there was a plan against him. it was a matter if he would outsmart the field. to me it shows that it can take just two horses to depend on how a race develops.
bad backup plan on kent's side but also a very hard feat to overcome considering there just might be a conspiracy. you vs the field.
That is what makes horse racing so much fun!!! We all have the right plan we just do not know it till the race is over!!LOL
I love racing in the game over the belmont race track.....
yeah, i like the belmont backstreatch too, move too soon and your done
That race track is hugh . The far turn is like a track by itself

We heard you the first time. ;)
I kinda do and don't like it. I do however like betting belmont in real life. Nice pick 6 carry over today.
It was a $1.1 million carry over coming into today and they bet $3 million into it today. The first three legs were ran and it was 2-1, 7-1, and now 22-1. May be another carry over.
Yea im from maryland i remeber kent when he was here i rememember when edgar prado was here too alot of good jocks come from md

The good old days. That makes us sound to old. I love horse racing and horse racing games so I can not be that old (LOL)
We used Edgar quite a bit. Most of the win photos we have from the mid 90's are with Edgar up. However, I left Maryland 13 years ago and now am in South Florida. A lot of good jocks also come from Calder and Gulfstream.
