Hey Everyone!
So I've been wondering, which view/perspective do you find is the best to jockey from. I've been using three, but I'm finding that I cannot see any horses that are coming from behind too well. So, which do you think is best?
Sentana, I just used 4 and it was really helpful to be able to see if anybody was closing! I feel like you get a better sense off how the horse is traveling on 3 (well, however much you can tell through a computer) but being able to see behind and more of the field with 4 was much more effective strategy wise...Thanks for the great tip! :)

Horses and jockeys mature earlier than people - which is why horses are admitted
to race tracks at the age of two, and jockeys before they are old enough to shave.

I like to use 4, 2/5 (If you are on 2, click 5 to get a closer view), 1/5, 9
I use 1 and 3. Mostly 3 but to see what the other horses are doing I go to 1, especially when I am moving in the backstretch.

4 has been working great for me.
View 3 is the closest to what a real jockey sees, unfortunately there's no "peek under the armpit" button to help you see if there's anyone coming up from behind . Which is why I always use #4 because you get to see behind you. It's like your guardian angel's view of the race. The real key to being a great jockey is knowing which horses to pick, and that only comes from running a zillion races and getting a lot of PP's so you can best choose which horse to ride for the specific conditions. You get more points for piloting Demonsteed to distant 3rd at 20-1 than you do romping on Jury Duty at 4/5. The computer isn't always good at setting the odds. Lots of times the short priced favorite has no shot at all, and a quick scan of the PP's will reveal that, but unless you have run a bunch of races you won't be aware of it. So in your spare time, go to advanced mode race setup, let the computer pick everything, and once the race starts hold the f4 button down and repeat this process as many times as you can stand without needing medication. Then, take your meds and get back to simulating. The more you do this, the better you will become as a rider, I guarantee that. The same goes for betting, of course. It's another reason to be a VIP. You see all the PP's for all the horses. Non VIPs are limited in the number as I recall. Of course, you must take this all with a grain of salt as my jockey and bettor stats aren't very impressive (289 pps & 329 roi). Oh yeah, and thanks again for breeding to Hoedown At Sundown. He's been bred over 600 times already but he's willing to "take another one for the team" if that's what the community wants. That's just how he rolls.
May the horse be with you
I like #3 for riding, but i do switch once in a while to see if another horse is coming. If I'm watching the race, I like to play with the 5 and 8 buttons.
I always use camera #1 for riding, and I like camera #8 for watching replays, though I sometimes use some of the other cameras for replays if I'm taking screenshots of the race.
I use 4. that way you can see up to 4 lengths back :)
