Hardest Feat to Accomplish

I'm just wondering what you think the hardest feat is to accomplish in the jockey game. I would go with getting a speed horse to go wire to wire in a very long route race. it is so hard to control that speed, while keeping the horse in front of all his/her foes. It takes a skill and precision like no other.

re: Hardest Feat

It is true that is a very challenging thing to accomplish, but I think its very hard to win with a closer in a sprint race. You need to have the kind of agillity that doesn't come with your average horse to be able to overcome all the traffic troubles. I remember in the mid 90's Cory Nakatani piloted two closers to win two different Breeders Cup Sprints. It was a magical feat to accomplish. Lit De justice in 1996, and Elmhurst in 1997

1997 Breeders Cup Sprint

I think it's a tie

between winning wire to wire in a 2 mile Grade 1 race and winning a 5 furlong Grade 1 with a closer. Try as I might, I just haven't been able to do it yet! I haven't even come close to winning a 5 furlong race with a closer, but I have been nipped at the wire by a nose with a frontrunner in a 2 mile once.

Actually

I have had a lot of luck winning long turf races with frontrunners. I just ration out their speed and no one can catch them because they are too tired!

That's interesting. I just realized that I haven't run any turf races, that mine have been on dirt.

well I was with the only

well I was with the only horse "farback" style. I selected five other horse to run Onlead as style for my five furlong test. I manually selected the horses so that may help the cause

Closers

I think the hardest horses to win with are closers. I have been able to win with frontrunners so far.

Depends

I think it all depends on how talented your horse is and what distance he wants to run.

5 furlongs

Have you tried making your move earlier, like pushing the gas with 4 furlongs to go?

5f Closers

Now that's a really hard one as you get a blanket finish and blocked. Hard to squeeze through. Also losing the lead in the stretch in a 1 1/4 mile race and coming back. It's really hard, but I did it once, on purpose. The horse that passed me had gone 5 wide and then ran out of stream right before the wire and I just nipped him....the rest of the field was 4-5 lengths out of it.

race set up

It does not matter what mode of the horse racing game you are in ,community or privite you can set the race up. The only difference is in privite you can NOT pick the horses . What I am saying is set up some races at different ages and watch the same horses perform way different. We have programed the horse game to give each horse a full racing cycle (with the highs and lows)
What you will see is that some horses do better at certain distences when young and may be able to go longer or have to go shorter as they get older. That is so cool to change the full race set up include track conditions and age .This makes the racing game more fun
