I was wondering this myself and think it must mean, adjusted speed rating. If I'm right, I'm wondering what adjustments were made to come to this ASR rating.
I am the one that mentioned adjusted speed rating. However, this is only a guess on my part and might not be accurate. If it helps you in your handicapping, that's great. My gut feeling is that it does mean adjusted speed rating. Might be similar to a track variant, with some sort of modification formula.
Thanks from me too, Ken. I actually didn't know and was making a stab. I wasn't too far off. LOL I'll be looking at the link you provided, after the Breeder's Cup races, which I'm enjoying.

Thanks. I was assuming that it stood for Adjusted Speed Rating but I had no idea how it was adjusted.
Now that I know this, my ROI should immediately skyrocket. :) j/k

"an estimated actual speed rating number (ASR), which indicates the potential speed rating if the horse had not been bumped or blocked or not required to go wide around the turns." See http://www.horseracegame.com/community/horse_racing_fantasy_3_help.
