Ok, I find this out ALOT, I will pick a 4yrs old and up race, And after looking at the Past Performance, I see he or she ran in a 2yr old race, or a 3 yr old race. This happens alot....????????????????
Joe
Nothing wrong with program, or at least not with this feature...
The fact that you're picking the horses as 4-year-olds doesn't affect the history you previously created. That's the object of the past performance. Simply to build up history at all ages that you race so you can see a horse's particular ability under certain conditions, which would include age. The best part of our game is figuring out the puzzle of each horse. You can get each horse figured out by building that history at all ages and all racing conditions. You will then have a better shot in the jockey and betting tournaments.
Impost. Yes I understand, But my question is, If I am setting up a race for 3yr olds, and horses entered are 4 and older, that make no sense to me. it should be just for 3 yr olds? This happens alot with 2 yrs old races?
Thanks for your comment
Joe
When you create a race for 2year olds, the horse is entered as a 2year old. Although he may have past performances as a 4year old. For instance Lost in the Fog is awesome at 2 and 3, at 4 he's not so awesome. So depending on the race you put him in is going to effect his performance.
What makes you say the horses are 4 and older in the 3yr old race?
This phenomenon has happened to me before, exactly as you described, ortseam. I believe what happens is the name and distance of the race displayed at the top of the screen somehow changes to that the exact pp you last looked at. But in actuality the race you set up doesn't change at all. The top of the screen says, 1 1/8 at Belmont(the last pp you looked at), but the race you're running is 1 1/16 at Oaklawn, the one you thought you were running. Again, I could be off base about your situation,0 but this is what happens to me sometimes.
It has to be a minor glitch in the game, and it can be confusing. I just tried it again, and the blue border at the top of the screen said "Bashford Manor 6f 2yo" when I had set the race up myself as an ungraded stakes race at 6.5f for 3yo&up , not picked it from the master file. The race ran just as I had set it up, not as the border indicated.
ok this is what I mean, can someone please explain?
I am running a 1 mile turf race, for 5 yrs olds and up...I look at the past performance for Ginger Bread (F) and i see she has run in 28 races so far, This is what i don't get.. She has raced in 3yr old races, 3 and 4yr olds, races 2 yr old races? Why isn't she just running in 5yr olds and up races? how old is this horse?
Please explain
Thanks, Joe
Yes, the same horse runs at different ages. What you see in the past performance is how they performed at that particular age in that particular race. So, its actually possible to see a horse perform in the exact same race at different ages. Lets take Big Brown for example. He is in the best 3 year olds of 2008 file. It is possible to run him in the 5 year old and up race. In the pps it would show that he was 5 in that race. But if you decided to race him in the Kentucky Derby next, he would be 3.

Good eye Birdzilla,
I have noticed that glitch where the race is mislabeled at the top.
