I subscribe to this topic (Price; gameplay vs. real racing) and received two notices of activity, but when I clicked I received a message that the page was not found -- nor can I find it in the list of topics. What happened, or am I missing something?? (I tried this a number of times and even waited a couple hours to see if it was a glitch in the system -- no luck.)

I really hope this post wasn't removed by moderators.
I did not remove it, but support the decision of whomever did.
All the points in the thread have been discussed previously (and at length) and seen by the powers that be. Time to move on IMHO. If you have issues I recommend emailing the developers directly as they are highly accessable.
No offense D but it seems like lately thats a waste of time. Does not look good when sites are removing posts. Its getting very frustrating.
I dont have an issue with removing and actually think it was the right thing to do on that thread. But I understand your frustration, it seems like the guys above are really nose down on the upgrade, (good or bad)...and because of that their presence has been decreased in the community. I dont know what to say, but what I have been saying that I have faith that once this version is done, things will get back to before for everyone.
Can you post the link that you are referring to please?
- is this the topic you are referring to?

If you are thinking you are winning. Resistance is victory.
First and foremost, no moderator is allowed to remove any topic unless the topic contains information that is outright fraudulent, obscene, commercial, etc. Management saw the topic, read it, and though we disagreed with a lot of the commentary, we did not interfere with it. We found it actually funny that the guy who posted the topic had not even bought a single file. With that said, we do not interfere with freedom of speech as long as there are not blatant lies or misrepresentations pertaining to our company. And - every one is entitled to their opinion. It turns out that the topic was actually deleted by the creator, which the software allows users to do. We feel that if a person creates a topic, he should have the ability (and only him) to delete it.
I cannot emphasize enough how important your feedback as players is. Some of the feedback you have given is actually in the works already. Some is being put in for future consideration and others just do not fit with our long-term strategy. We believe the voice of our community is the backbone of our product. We pay very close attention as long as it's done in a constructive manner. It is our goal to release to a group of beta testers (our most loyal community members) the next version of our program. We believe that this is a major step in maintaining the leadership role in the horse racing game space.
Our objective is to provide a game for true horse racing enthusiasts and also a place where novices can go, learn about the sport and have fun in a gaming environment. We want to keep a balance between the racing enthusiast and the action game sports fan. We believe a balance of the two will get this community to blow up in size. We also want to have a platform that is free for those who cannot afford some of the enhanced features, but at the same time is one that will provide an additional unique and enhanced experience for those who can.
Our game, in the long run, will focus on tournaments, the tool we believe will create a true sticky platform for all levels of players and all levels of fans from the true racing fan to the novice casual fan who has a drive to be part of a community and game with risk/reward functions. Remember that our community is less than 7 months old. We feel we have accomplished quite a bit in that time frame. Also realize that we are a long way away from reaching mass appeal, which will benefit our current users and, of course, the racing industry - the industry that we love.
thanks for the info...I did not even think about that it might have been user deleted. Good catch
I, too, did not realize a creator could delete a topic, but I guess it makes sense.
I had made a couple points at the end of the deleted post which I don't know if many were able to read, so I will make them again:
1. Someone had indicated that Gary Darveaux was no longer involved with the game. Perhaps I am wrong, but I thought he was still heavily involved.
2. An individual from Australia had also commented on how much he liked the game. This is a very good reason for having the international horse files added -- it should bring in even more of our friends overseas. I have no idea how long it takes to "convert" the old game ratings to the new game, but the international files of the previous edition of the game had Australian/New Zealand horses as well as many European and Japanese stars. I hope these horses will be avaialable soon.
3. I have mentioned a number of times that I also have been with Gary since his DOS version. The current game is another wonderful revision and I look forward to many more improvements as time passes. I am very confident that the game will only get better and better.
Obviously, different people want different things, but (for what it is worth) I want more real horses of the past and the present so please keep them coming!
Gary is still very much involved with the company. We are adding thousands on international horses in Novmember
Glad to hear that international horses will finally make it! :) I hope stars like Zarkava (undefeated filly who just won the Arc but will not be coming to the Breeders' Cup) will be included. As I said, the game is just going to get better and better!!!!!
