We have to request all General Tournaments!
More players have to get involved, Champ.
If the reason players aren't requesting tournaments is becuase they don't want to chance the few points in the process, that's not HRF's fault.
I hope it's just that most players don't know that we now have to request all General Tournaments.
I wont request another tournament as long as I play this game
cause It seems when I do they get voted in published and never make the list
so why bother. And I have also witnessed players getting their wish when their request get voted down by the community
There are lots of tournament that I've voted for that got approved that have never been published, and a couple that I requested that got approved for the beginning of July that have still yet to be published. It does us no good to request and get the votes if they aren't gonna get published anyway.
I don't know anything about the non-published tournaments issue, but if we are going to make this work we have to change our behavior. We can no longer sit back and hope that the rest of the community gets it done. We must request the tournaments we need for our horses. Then we must go to the tournament voting page 3 0r 4 times each day and vote. If the vast majority of us do not do those things it will not work!
Dusty
But most dont enter forums and I would assume most dont vote. So this system isn't going to work. On top of that it cost points to request these tourneys and only if your tourney passes you get your points back. One more think I wish we could pick how many races we want, the price range and the track and season.
We request and pass a tourney HRF hacks it up and its nothing like we were thinking.
we shouldnt be making up the majority of these tournaments HRF / Puddles should be doing it, we should request specific tournaments like it use to be but its their &^#^(*&(@ way of milking points from people, HRF make the tournies and put them out and stop this *&(^&^%#@ s%^& before i *&(*(&%^3
First, Chris, the tournaments are voted on and approved in order to get published. The only modification may be an adjustment in the age. For example, if you are requesting a tournament for 4-year-olds only and we've noticed that the exact same request has not filled previously, then we will probably make the tournaments for 4-year-olds and up. As far as the track surface goes, the distance goes and the entry fees - all of that is controlled by the players.
I have to disagree with several other players in this thread, though they are are certainly entitled to their opinions. If HRF started publishing general tournaments based on what we think players want to do, there will be too many tournaments published. Players will not check tournaments that currently being voted on and we'll end up with two or three tournaments with the exact same conditions. This is a big problem.
We want the community to drive the general tournaments. We've opened up all the surfaces. We want the general tournaments to fill. The best way for them to fill is to have the community control them. Remember, we are publishing hundreds of blue and red restricted tournaments insta-tournaments every month. Those we control. Now, the general tournaments are for big points and should be part of a player's strategy when mapping out his horse's career.
Let me ask a question. Is it better to over-publish tournaments with HRF guessing what the players want, or is it better to let the community control this process - getting the votes they need and then knowing that the tournament will publish?
I would think that entering tournaments and not having them fill would be more frustrating than anything. This can now be easily avoided by the players controlling what tournaments they want. We've already cut down the time. In fact, if you request a tournament today, it's available in less than three weeks. It should not be difficult for players to evaluate the upcoming trainer tournaments and the recently-approved trainer tournaments, as well as those that are being voted on, and then make a decision on whether they need to request one or not. There are some players who have this system down perfectly. If you look at recently-approved tournament waiting to be published, you'll see some 45 tournaments that have already been approved by the players and will absolutely be published. In 90% of the time, they will be published under the exact conditions the player has requested. This includes age, track surface, track condition, racing distance range, entry fee and whether it's a flat or step-up per race fee.
why doesnt HRF make it easy and simple for us trainers to see what races are already published by changing your tournament voting page ...Say if a trainer tries to request a tournament and its "already" been made , then there should be a box that says "The tournament you are requesting is already made, do you want to join that tournament now?" that would save alot of time.....
Can you tell me if any general two year old tournies will be published in the next week? If not im gonna get rid of half my stable of 2yo's. Pointless paying all the fee's for 40+ horses with 3 terribad tournies to choose from.
well answer this for me take a look at the 3 tourneys sitting in my list of tournaments requested and tell
me where and when they made the list of up coming tournaments. cause if they did they filled mighty fast. I wound up going into a tournament my horses had no reason to be in
Fast dirt tournaments and sand tournaments should be handled by HRF. Only the specialty surfaces should be requested by players. The way it is now is not working.
Well they heard something because they added a bunch of 2yr tourneys. Well not a bunch only thing was a sprint dirt and turf soft. But not much to choose from.
Who wants grade 3 races and pay a arm and leg to enter then and all the fees? Well that soft tourney 4 prelims, total cost 28,000 points for grade 3's. I think HRF takeout is to much these days. It should be lowered to at the most 25% not 32% which is 1/3 of the fricking pot. Now you need to finish 1st and 2nd to make a profit. Anything else your screwed. I know where playing for fun but 32% is to much.
I paid in total of 77,500 points for this tourney. Also 2500 lasix and 1 month stable fees 8500.
So total is 88,500 points, now lets look what we can win.
Total Purse: 669,800 Community Points
First Place: 368,390 Community Points
Second Place: 167,450 Community Points
Third Place: 80,376 Community Points
Fourth Place: 53,584 Community Points
Well if you finish 3rd you lost money for this tourney. So 2 horses make a profit and 11 horses do not. Well thats some great news. Hrf earned 214,336 points on this tourney. They made more than 2nd place, LOL. Now thinking about that I think it should go back to 20% takeout.
If you not going to lower your takeout then lets go back to the 500 points entrys and no races because why do we have to spend so much when most horses enter wont get any points anyways. Lets have cheap ass tourneys and giant ones. Because spending huge amounts of points on crappy grade 3 is stupid and with that 1/3 takeout is even crazy for us to enter them.
That fricking shed is another story. Crap galore! Last time I bred a horse over 120 was 1 month ago. Thats over 7million points spent and no general horses. Well I guess your 32% isn't enough you also need to take millions of points and offer nothing back from that either.
You would think 1 of those horse would be over 125.....NO 1 Month and nothing. I wonder how many horse and times I vetted and got nothing to race in generals. But with 1 claim 20,000 points I got a 125.4, fricking sad!
I have bred 155 horses without getting one over Sr119 thats my current streak. So forget about general horses I cant get one over Sr119, 155 horses & 30 days.
Jbcri is far more entertaining when he isn't on a hot streak. Please, Flyingdaaka is begging, don't get hot again. Flyingdaaka despises seeing calm posts from you as opposed to the normal, hostile, hate-filled ones.

The shed certainly needs some attention i think and as for the vet well i guess he is def in the wrong buisness. If you took a real horse to the vet you would not get a donkey back 99.9% of the time.I vetted a 122sr and got a 98sr back and the last 10 or so times i have vetted one came back 1sr higher and the rest were retired. Will never use the vet again, hes more like a butcher. For 17.500points your horse should at least come back as it was or reduce the ammount of points it costs to vet should not be more than 2500points i think.
LOL - I like that stevic "Will never use the vet again, hes more like a butcher"
I do know what you mean tho. Who is the vet anyway? Wat are his or her credentials? We should be provided with a histroy of the vets prior victims. <-- Im seroius we should be informed of all previous vetting. I would guess a decent success rate would be somewhere near 8 or 9%
Once again, it is about supply and demand. You people continue to vet constantly, regardless of the outcome or price. Why in the world would you expect HRF to change the method of vetting or the price. Listen to yourselves. It is like walking into a department store, buying 5 shirts and then returning to buy another 10, and then going to the register and complaining about the price and quality. They would look at you like you have 3 heads. Why continue to pay for something that you would think isn't worth it ???
Most often, the vet makes little impact on the horse you vet, it usually goes no more up or down than 10 points. You just end up retiring it anyway, like you would have had you not vetted.
These rhetorical posts about vetting are becoming silly.
~~ Forum participation: Dealing with the mentally insane ~~
With all due respect if that is the case daaka if a trainer took a horse to the vet in real life and it came back in the state that our horses come back he would loose his license and be charged for cruelty to animals in a court of law.As far as not using the vet as it does not seem to be worth while is what we were all saying but it is like trial and error, you need to learn from your mistakes, now i know we are not all as good as you are,but if a vet is not doing his job correctly then he should get the bullet,or there should be an option to have the horse put down after Dr Hyde has had his way with it.Just my opinion.
When I first started on here I vetted everything. I didn't even know what BSR was. I just figured, well I'm vetting it, it's GOT to get better.
I did that with my first 8 or 10 horses. Who knows what I threw away?
I was so naive in those days. I'd come in the forums and ask questions like,
1-Does the 6000k a day I can earn include trainer tournament wins?
2-Can I actually cash my points in for prizes?
3-What exactly IS a horse?
Vetting can get you frustrated really fast. My luck with it is mostly bad. However I did get my only two 130+ by vetting, so who knows?
Gee, i wonder if 2 year old tournaments have been needed to be put on the schedule. The Fly By Me was put on list last night, and already has 12 of a possible 15 entrants.
I would rather see tourneys listed with everything but surface conditions which would be random. I have some horses that are awesome in sprint turf races that are soft or yielding but are really dirt and syn middle distance horses. In real life, these horse would never be enterted in turf sprints on the odd chance that it rains. Have a partial refund for scratches if the conditions are such that you know your horse has no chance.
I think it would give some incentive to suggest races if you got back more point than you spent to have a tourney voted on.
