I'd like to congratulate .............. for a great victory tonight. Also congrats to the trainer .......... for a job well done. Track record to boot. We'll all be hearing from that horse and trainer soon.
If you look at it from camera 7, while holding your head at a 72 degree angle while yodeling naked in the bathtub, you can clearly see that it was a true dead heat.
You all probably have a handful, or perhaps only one or two horses that are capable of real running, and the rest are blue runners or worse. Retire all but the earners. Retire every single one of them. And don't breed anymore until we see how the new client works out, how changes to the tournament system work out, how the changes to breeding work out.
And, I tell you this.... each and every one of you better make damn sure you know your horses performance, BSR, energy, etc... right now. The last time a new client came out, the first one that could not possibly affect performance, I had one drop from 141 down to 123.8. Soundofrum experienced something similar.
The official story was that my horse was turning four and past peak... which is all true. That it was due for the drop, and it would have happened without the client change anyway.
In any case, the actual BSR number, as reported by the game, dropped from 141 to 123.8. it went from one of the finest horses in the history of the game (at the time), to a laughing stock. Think about that a while. And then get out a notepad and start documenting your horses' abilities, right now.
No, Jay. Their decision to shut down the forums is one that is going to haunt them forever. They will never live that down, no matter what they do in the future. Not as long as I am still here.
It squashed discussion, as intended, but in so doing it took away the voice of dozens of players who have spent a thousand dollars, three thousand dollars, etc, on this game. That intensifies and magnifies every little problem the game has. What were once truly molehills, are now mountains. And the hills that existed before, are now Everest. I'm not about to make nice with everyone now... not by a damn sight.
You reap what you sew. They can ban me and ban JB, and I am sure they will eventually, but it won't change the fact that this game, in its current state, makes shit hold its nose. And so do the direction and sensibilities of the management. When they killed the forums, they created another Sundown, out of me.

Good suggestion, Mo. I did just that. Yes, my, best horse ever, Royal Danish went from 128.9 to 113 and has never been the same. Just before that happened to him, he was competitive with, Forever Silent, who is about number 13 on the top 100 list and still holding her own against the best.
I was only teasing, but I agree with you about the forums. I don't know if you read any of my posts on Saturday before they were deleted. Some were deleted by me and some were deleted by others, but I had a true honest to goodness meltdown. And it was because of the forums being taken down. It really really pissed me off.
But, I think they were just trying to make the point that there are new players looking at this site every day. Some find it by pure accident (like I did) and it's a huge turn off for them to read nothing but negativity. It works out good for everybody when we get more players. I think the way they went about it was a bit off the mark. More communication and less patronizing would have worked much better I think.
However, maybe both the players AND management learned a lesson from this. The players overall seemed to have eased up on the negativity a bit and management has left a thread up (The BS thread) that probably would have been deleted 2 weeks ago.
I think that's what Vasdef and I were trying to do in that thread today. To show that no matter how much we argue about something, at the end of the day we're all here for the same thing. Good fun and good competition. Yes most of us are very competitive and yes, it sometimes comes out in the forums. But it's got to be that way. We have got to have the forums! The site can not function without them, and I believe HRF now fully understands that. Gosh, I'm rambling. Sorry. Sleeptime now.
You bet your ass it's a downer for new players to read this kind of stuff. But or some, their misgivings will be assuaged a bit when they breed a 130 or 143 in their first few attempts.
Shutting down the forums and the poor breeding caused me to say enough. I havent bred a horse since Puddles shut the forums. That was 8/10/10. So I will shown Puddles what a quality player does. They get a few monsters and never breed again. Thats whats Puddles wants and I will gladly show him I'm a quality player.
I understand. Nobody criticised that phrase "Quality Players" more than I did. It was Insulting. No question.
But here we are on the forums saying all this and nobodies taken it down. We're still here. If the forums go, I'm with ya. Gone Gone Gone. But they are here and let's at least try to imagine that it's over and give it another chance. Why not? We do all love the game, don't we? That is in fact why we are here.
A little less Sundown and a little more Bigdog and we'll meet in the middle.
Flyingdaaka was only inconvienced for about 10 minutes. Flyingdaaka came home from work at about 4 AM hard and eager to watch his race. Couldn't figure out why his race didn't download. Decided to jockey for points and 10 minutes later, the race appeared on the screen with the button lighting up to be downloaded.
It appears you people suffered relentlessly all evening.
