Daisy Cutter would take them all...Ive raced Daisy against all the great horses of the past, and she has beat them all lol :) ....ruffiano
2 that could be there are the imports, Duke and HenrytheNavigator.
Also Student Council
Who's everyone cheering for? Curlin is my boy :) Wouldn't it be great if he could make the double?
If Jess Jackson is really going to run Curlin in this, he BETTER win. Conversely, Big Brown BETTER win also.
What if Commentator beats them both?
The topic of today's poll is wheter Zenyetta should try and beat the boys in the Classic, or remain undefeated in the Distaff. Hmm...considering how loaded the distaff division is, she might be better off in the classic. She closes like some kind of monster on that synthetic surface and would get ample pace to run at in both races with Big Brown and Commentator throwing down in the classic, and Hystericalady and Ginger Punch should set a fast pace in the Distaff. But i think that both of these races are WIDE OPEN no matter who enters. I still want Stream Cat in the Classic, but his Kentucky Cup Classic flop may have lost him some momentum. The winner of that race Zanjero is being pointed to the Classic but is not on your list. I don't think he would rate as much of a serious contender there and I think Steve Asmussen may look for another spot for him as he is already sending Curlin in the Classic, who will be way too vulnerable, and WAY too overbet in this race to even considering giving him play.
P.S. - Check out the new tourney winner plaque!!!!!

congrats on the tourney win
What of Casino Drive? He's supposedly touted as a monster of a horse, yet he's raced so little. What is everyone's take on him?
I don't know about him, but Curlin worked 4f today in a blazing 52.8 seconds.
That was sarcasm.
And yes, I know Asmussen horses often show slow works.
Well, he is lightly raced, 2 wins from 2 starts, but that easy win in the Peter Pan, as the favorite, sure looked impressive. I know he's Japanese owned, but he was bred in Kentucky. His pedigree looks good. Actually, better than good.
If he has to go against the likes of Curlin and Big Brown, I like horse to have more experience. As a handicapper, I'd bet against him winning, but would certainly include him in the exotics. I absolutly love both Big Brown and, Curlin, but think Curlin will win the Classic, if he goes. If he doesn't go, I think Big Brown will win easily, wire to wire.
Apparently a very slow first work after a race is normally what Asmussen does with Curlin.
Here is an excerpt from an article I found about the Pro-Ride surface at Santa Anita:
"It seems that just about all synthetic tracks make things difficult for early speed horses and, so far, Pro-Ride is no exception. There have been only 9 wire-to-wire winners so far on the main track at Oak Tree, which comes out to a 13 percent winning rate. By comparison, I did a survey of more than 1,300 races run around the country on traditional dirt tracks for my book "Betting Synthetic Surfaces: Conquering Racing's Newest Frontier" and found that 30 percent of those races were won in front-running fashion.
Closers are faring the best at Santa Anita. Forty of the 68 races (59%) were won by horses who were fourth or worse at the first call. Nineteen of the races were won by horses who were second or third at the first call."
This is what I've noticed at Golden Gate Fields, when playing Santa Anita and viewing the monitor. Often, during the final furlong, it's anybodies race, or so it seems. Sometimes looks like a quarter horse race. Not kidding. Looks like the whole field has a chance.
I love Daisy Cutter, I once won a race wiht her against good horses by 23 lengths
Garr. When IS the BC Classic? I totally forgot.
Oct 25th.
OH PLEASE! I have been racing PridesJoy for months now and she only lost 1 race!!!
Pride always starts out slow then ends up a mile ahead of everone!!!!
I call her "MY SECRATARIAT" after the triple crown winner, fastest horse ever, Secratariat. Im serious, i would love to race you.
You must not be trying her against Cold Croc Ya, Daisy Cutter, or Here Comes Thunder. As an aside, are you sure you even responded to the right topic?
UM..... there is no "Cold Croc Ya" & "Here comes thunder" but there is a Daisy Cutter and i have already beat her by like 50 lengths! is that possible 50 lengths.....?
