The communitys is unhappy with computer handicaping and frankly it stinks. Puddles are you telling us that race was a fair handicapped race and the best horses carried the most weight?

I would wait for you answer but its wasn't a fair handicapped race. You are given us a flawed system in place of another flawed one that is the human handicapper system. But everybody knows the human is better than the computer.

Why would you let the computer handicap anything. The computer is basically a drunk driver and crashes and kills everybody in every race it handicaps.

We dont care if the rules be around forever. What does that mean? The computer stinks and the community doesn't want the computer to handicap no more races. Why cant you understand this? It seems to be simple request and you should be understanding yourself that the computer is flawed and outdated and needs to be trashed.

I think we should go to scale weights, but in the mean time how come everybody quit handicapping races?

I know why. I think what we have to say is the human cappers are better than the computer. I have several issues with the handicapping.

What happened to this reward system for handicappers Puddles said months ago?

I noticied people are in a rush to vote no but they dont come in to vote yes. Forget about 3 yes votes to get 3,000pts that hasn't worked and you can ask any handicapper about that.

You should get 3,000pts per race you handicap.

One steward will be assigned to look over each race before it runs. If the steward says its good or bad. They will post there name and add a comment. If the race is judged bad then the people in the race should be notified and give a yes or no vote to have the race run by the computer which will be scale weights. The Steward will earn 3,000pts per race.

Maybe we can also tighten the weights as Vasdef mentioned.

Everybody wants a fair race and the people who handicap and the stewards deserve our respect.

Super star horse 1/4 reward winner 15 starts - 14 wins , runs in the finial with the bottom weight HUH????????

You could just about laugh over it - that is a bad job handicapping on the scale of 1 - 10 it would 5000,0000

That's the best analogy I've heard to date on this site! Lol! That was great Jb! Keep it up. At least if they aren't doing anything about it then I'll laugh until it gets fixed. That happened to KF getting a lower weight but she was entered in both 3 and up so she always got a lower weight because she was only 3 but I didn't know it was like that for 3 year old only races. That's pretty bad!

I dont think you can answer this question. If you already said the computer system stinks and you spend money to upgrade it so the players can handicap races but you still continue to use the old version on races that are not player handicapped what does this say to the community?

You basically saying you dont care if the final races are not fair because HRF already got there cut of the pie and we dont care who wins even though the race has screwed up weights and gives a unfair advantage to the best horses.

Hrf we got payed already, so go away!

Its funny HRF has this big conference call and basically we got the blues. Which are fine. But you should have had a backup plan in place for races that arent handicapped by players.

Dont even tell me the backup plan was the computer. I looked at that race and I think it a computer glitch on a computer handicapped race.

Someone in charge should have said no way will the computer handicap races because it will makes us look like clowns. In place of the handicaped weights we will make scale weights, the same weights they raced in the prelims. So when they asked us why this race wasn't handicapped we can say the circus left town and now the races that aren't human handicapped will be scale weights.

all you haft to do is look at what they gave us for the big classic tournament 5or6 grade 2`s and 2 grade 1`s a disgrace for the amount of work everyone went to.

Ok Suncity you maybe right again. It just easier to do things correct the first time. We have alot of community members but until they speak we dont have any chance of getting anything done around here. Alot of head shaking going on.

I am done. I try to give some good ideas that should solve the handicapping issue. But as usually its there way the wrong way everytime.

Trust me Jim , you don`t want the magic voodoo wand to come out in finials. normally a war later that nigh in the forums.

I just have to say have to say a couple of things
First off I never really get into the heated stuff on the forums.
So basically you dont hear from me as much my horse won the race in question and in her defense
even if she carried the high weight i am sure she would have won the race anyway she has carried the high weight before and still romped. like sun said she is 14 out of 15 with 4 tourney wins.Do I think she should have carried 113lbs no way. Personally i would have wanted to see her carry 125 cause then the win would have been sweeter. Maybe I am wrong but i just feel the horse is getting beat up here. And yes i think something has to be done with the handicapping and weight assignments.JMO

Mate great horse said that a few times , would have won easy with any weight. We have nothing against the horses in the finial , it`s about the computer handicapper itself what is a very heated subject at he moment along with human handicapping.

and i agree that something needs to be done sun.Maybe the controversy
over the handicapping is overshadowing the win and it looks like the horse

Tony you said you were going to bed. Ok we may be discussing your final, but in know why are we knocking you and your horse. This is not the first screw up in computers weights and everybodys knows this. It keeps happening over and over. If it suppose to be handicapped race then lets at least get the weights right for each horse. Thats all where saying and the computer is still programmed with the wrong codes. Somebody fix the computer or go scale weights in finals where the human didn't handicap it.

A system needs to be laid down by the man upstairs that all handicappers must go by when handicapping.... ..Handicapping should stay ,,its a good aspect of the game where the communnity can get involved.....

Guidelines is the computer can never handicap a race. Thats the most important thing this thread is about.

When I order a medium-well steak and it comes to my table well done, they are going to cook me another one.
They don't dictate to me what I'm going to eat.

Handicap weights, million point G2 tourneys, etc., all we're asking is for HRF to cook the steak the way we want it.
They can't expect us to eat whatever they choose to feed us, for much longer.

I really don't think they realize how serious most of us take this game. Because it often seems HRF isn't taking it serious.

JB is right, we offer up ideas on how we want our steaks cooked, and we're simply ignored. If you have technical problems, HRF is the best at service in that area.
And all we're asking for is to change a few numbers around, it's not like we're asking for lower prices,

No one knows whats going on here! How do we boycott??? We're trapped. There are too many things going on at once. Tournaments requested are upside down. Wrong ages for requested tournaments. Tournaments saying build and not really built. Now the computer is handicapping??? I thought that was random until every single tournament has been like that.

I guess all we can really do is wait. We can't drop everything. At least if they are trying to pull stuff they can do it on the sly when we're not paying attention. That's like walking into a bank without a mask and no weapon. Really? We know what's going on but you look stupid doing it.

Vasdef, I'm afraid to say that the steaks aren't really steaks anymore...that's probably why they come out wrong. We're not getting steaks. We're getting dog meat, which is awfully hard to cook medium and probably not safe anyways! So we'd better take the well done instead of pushing for the medium and we know what happens when you eat under-cooked food...

Forgot to mention major slop tournaments currently running 6-7 slop prelims and one dirt fast prelim (joke)
tournaments what have started with all the wrong race dates , can not get races sent to in game , tournaments who noes. finials run on the wrong race date or on the wrong race surface?. shake your head stuff , they must have been obn holidays all week or at the casino

I think the only thing where getting from this thread is a payday so Vasdef, Suncity, Westy and Me are going to win every final we enter for the next 6 months, because theres more attacking and complaining in this thread than any others ever before and it has over loaded the circuits in the HRF slot machine and where sure of getting paid so back up the dump truck people!

I have 8 major finials on between the 1st and the 9th
and no magic wands please , been there done that time for it happen to someone eles? and one of those finials the wand has hit that horse before in one of my finials.

I can solve the entire handicapping issue. I will be the hrf handicapping King, All races done fairly and there would ne no fighting i will tell them KING CAPPER SAYS his way is the only way. Within a week there will be piece in our happy little vurtual word. the race i dis was very competitive fast race and betters came out from everywhere wich means more coin to run the game

Do you cook a lettuce? It seems Daaka has joined the Red Army! and there is no such thing as handicapping with the conditions restricted and the weights compressed. That was the major problem from the start and was always going to lead to contention and vitriol and there are more than a few in this community who feast on that. The computer can't handicap this, this member can't handicap that. What a pathetic attempt at handicapping that was. Like religion and politics this is an argument that will never be won.
You can tweak the system as much as you like, the handicaps, the outcomes and the results will continue to be contentious. Problem is there are a few in the community who have set themselves up as judge, jury and expert on every subject and who give the impression they actually know what they are talking about. So much so they seem to have actually convinced themselves. Regardless of the topic, this narrow focused vocal minority of self appointed puffery experts simply treat anyone with a contra opinion to theirs as an idiot and thier posts as irrelevent and with contempt.
That makes for a really tight and vibrant, participative community NOT. I suggest these vocal minority take a break, breath through their mouths for a while and give contra opinion an opportunity to express without suffering the self righteous vitriol. Posting might then become an enjoyable part of the game again and the threads contain some common sense, constructive, relevent and new argument.

No, it was a player that I actually respect that made me quit. When Mod questioned my honesty about the weights I felt really bad because he is not known as a player who BS's. If he had just thought I was incompetent I wouldn't really care, but I think he really believes I set weights based on personalities. Maybe he can put me up for an apple.

In any event, due to recent circumstances, I have returned to the warm loving arms of my fellow handicappers and am very much looking forward to doing some more "capping". I'm still not sure with the "Magic wand" is. Will somebody please enlighten me?

Jaybird you were capping based on personalities in my opinion and you had the wand backing you up, anyway i am not sure whats going on, we have no updates on new client and all the stuff that was promised, telling the player base that the game has passed them by was the wrong thing to do and i dont believe in spreading the wealth.

this really needs repeating but I do so in defence of the single member whose handicapping was consistently outstanding, mostly achieving what HONEST handicapping is supposed to achieve and that is equalise.

Much obliged. Equalise is quite right although few here would agree with that. Even Puddles has said that is not what handicappers should be trying to do. But as you and he both know, that is the way it's done in real life. In the end it will all sort itself out. All the best.
