Flying One, some things must remain a secret, why must you divulge such crucial information to the entire community?

I entered a 121 BSR horse in a Blue thinking he would crush the competion, because that horse performed decent in big tourneys before the new changes.
You won that Blue prelim this morning, my horse came in dead last.ROFL!

Maybe we listened to the flying one to much and had nothing to do, so we entered a blue!! lol

Vas, Flyingdaaka saw out of the corner of his eye a horse missing the break badly. Must have been yours, LOL. To top off the point, the horse that just won the race you speak of, in its last tournament, which was a "low level" 3k entry fee tournament, it had 2 ninth place finishes, an 11th place finish and a historic fading 1st to 19th finish (5.5F race). Gee, wonder how many 130's were in that one. Going off that form it should have been retired. Little did Flyingdaaka know it was running at a top level going against all the monsters dished out by HRF to the newbies.
So your 121, doing well in high fee generals, gets crushed in a blue. Flyingdaaka's 121, limited to low fee generals and claiming races, will be one of the favorites in the blue final.
Vas, Flyingdaaka did hear the rumors about the high fee tourneys having weaker horses, it wasn't all that much of a secret, but he didn't pay much attention to it. This clearly shows the rumors were true.

Sometimes I'm let wondering how much experience some community members have in the real world of thoroughbred horse racing? For some, (based on what I read here on our forum) , I'd say, very little experience, if any at all.
For others, it's apparent that you speak from experience. You know who you are. It is the "voice of experience" that's worth listening too.

I think the new BSR info on the performance reports will help.
And Daaka, another thing to consider is that not all players blessed with a big horse, can afford to enter a Big Tourney.(especially most Newbs).

I'm just glad HRF decided to go with this new system.
And I look forward to them tightening it up even further.
Notice the winner's circle is not dominated by a handful of players now.
(Well, Sundown is taking a break, so that helps) LOL

I've told you before some of my horse's BSRs, and I only have 2 that are 130+, I was doing ok in big tourneys. We'll see what happens now that all 125+ are forced to run G1 and G2.

I do. I used to have my own variant system back in the day. Wasnt too happy when they started adding that to the form.

Not really sure trainers understand clearly the new class system, me included. I do know it really screwed up the General Training Tournaments. Dead, untrained pool horses everywhere.

Yes, Vas, I do remember. I bought Andrew Beyers first book (Picking Winners, A Handicappers Guide) (1975) on how he went about compiling these ratings. Very interesting. I have all, or at least, most of his books in my turf library.
Over the years I've had success with them, but more so when they weren't widely known. Like, Racodo said. I must say, that I feel I actually did better with the use of the Daily Racing Forms speed ratings when used with the daily, track variants. This, I find useful today.
I've been a speed handicapper my entire life, creating my own charts, systems and my own velocity ratings, which were never talked about, going back to the fifites and sixties. I do see them now, however. Velocity speed figures.

Here's an acknowledgement of, Beyer by a great handciapper from way back in those days that few even are aware of today.

As a trainer who must always be screwed or cheated by HRF in the tournament finals, sure we win lots of prelims, only to get screwed by always finishing fourth or lower in the finals. Happens like clockwork. I guess that is how these low balls get their jolly's.

I knew this horse was a champion and I did want him to suffer just because HRF is obsessed with screwing this trainer..

You guys have been handicapping a lot longer than I have, and I've been at it awhile. So one of these days we all need to put our heads together and hit some guaranteed payouts. You know, when there $100K+.
It would be nice to pull a Jimmy the Hat and hit for 1.6 million. lol

I think the wins come in cycles, JBcri, was in a slump and in the last two weeks he can't lose. It just takes some patience, but HRF doesn't give a $[:+ who wins, they make their cut regardless.
They're the house, why would they care who wins?

Ya know, Vas. This is how it is at the racetracks across the country. Many have accused them of cheating when they had no idea how it really works. For them, for HRF, it doesn't matter. You're right. They're the house.

I'm with you Bettowin. Anyone that is capable of changing forums is also capable of changing outcomes. I haven't won since they decided I was against them. BYAHAIR top seed 8:5 favorite just ran dead last when the money mattered. It happens all the time. They want you to spend, no secret, all the spenders do well. I believe they do care who wins. If he starts winning a bunch of races I am gonna come into every forum and start a rant myself...lol I know it worked for jcrib now he cant lose! I know I have only been here 4 months but I have learned enough to know that my horses arent gonna take home the purse most of the time...even if I have the best horse in the field. Usually thats when I lose most is when my horse has dominated the field...isnt that why there is hanidicapping? So it kills me when people are like, man I beat the field in every prelim then got whipped in the finals cuz I was cheated and Mike hates me. Hey some people would love to have a 139.7. I have never had a 130 and I have bred hundreds of horses. So your complaining to me falls on deaf ears. Its just like these parents who complain about their kids and my wife and I are unable to have kids....I just wanna punch them in the face...lol you need to count your blessings that you have/had such a nice horse to brag about. If I felt like this kind of cheating was going on with me, I wouldn't be here anymore. Why stay? The complaining hurts innocent members. If someone has a problem with management, deal with them. Not us. JMHO

Dbacks, you know I spent tons breeding when I first started, and I couldn't buy a win. And if you go to a lot of the big breeders stable page, you'll see big gaps in between the blue streaks of badges.

That said, it is funny how JB came on here crying , then the next thing you know he wins every tournament. LMAO!

If that horse won a pretty good tourney and was a millionaire, in it 's first tourney....... And a 139.7 BSR.
Then why in heaven or hell did he retire it??????

Nope. Not buying it. Flyingdaaka has entered many tournaments where he felt he had little to no shot, and ended up winning. Flyingdaaka has seen his horses look pitiful in training, and then, once it matters, they turn it on. You people that have had tough luck, you expect to win every race. It won't happen. Not here, not in real horse racing. Flyingdaaka is not a big spender, dbacks, but he hangs in there.
The forums, yes rigged. The breeding, yes....sadly...it is....altered. But the races, no, Flyingdaaka doubts they are rigged.

I have trouble retiring 125s, I always make excuses to keep them around.
I could imagine if I had a 139, I be on here 25 hours a day making sure it was OK. Lol!

JB was a major conspiracy-theory buff prior to his current hot streak. For MONTHS. He believed in the "HRF hates me" conspiracy and the "level the playing field in tournaments" conspiracy. He has said so on the forums and to me in private messages.

Now that you are winning again, JB, are all those points moot? Do you still believe in the conspiracies, or do you think you were wrong before, or did you start wearing a tinfoil hat to prevent HRF from sapping the performance from your stable?

I'll just try to get better at the game.

Bettowin98 should have never retired his top sr horses to begin with. He now blames Hrf for him retiring all his high srs. I didn't retire any of my high sr horses in that 5 month slide.

I believe my losses in finals where on poor placement. Some tournments my horses shouldn't have been in and I placed them in for lack choices that sometimes general tourneys offered. Some of the tourneys my horses would perform well in prelims but the final race probably wasn't the top condition for that horse.

I blame myself for my horses not performing at there best in the finals. I have no problems taking the blame either.

Theres 2 important things a trainer must have to achieve success.
#1 You must train your horse in every distance, surface, date, track....etc.
#2 Once you trained that horse you must have patience to get the best tourney for that horse.

Sometimes I do half a$$ training. I also dont have much patience. So I do expect losses in finals now. Its part the game and most of the time its my fault.

This is my theory, not confirmed by HRF. Just my thoughts. I'm of the impression that barns can get hot and cold. From time to time we all can get hot and cold. Your donkey won't sprout wings are anything like that, but you seem to have better racing luck. The rail opens up just in time, the fast closing horse gets blocked, you get a good draw, your jockey ride a perfect race, etc. When you're in a slump the opposite seems to happen. There has been many a race I thought I got away with a victory and many more I thought I should have won. It happens to all of us, except maybe Racodo - just kidding...lol

That's racing folks. And yes spending more does improve your chances, but in the end guarantees you nothing.

Oh, I didn't mean to scare the children. I see what you mean. Sorry for that. Basically, the trainer of the 139 horses bid us all a farewell in a recent post. I was thinking of that. Sooooooooooooooooo, it got me thinking, I guess he's really leaving so won't be running a stable anymore. That's where I was coming from. HRF is secure, in my opinion and isn't going anyplace but up.

It makes perfect sense to me!
Then of course, I've always been a pretty quick study, able to read between the lines and such. ROFL!

My weakest characteristc is a lack of humility, but my strongest characteristic is that I don't give a rat's ass what anybody outside of my family thinks about me.

Thanks, JB. That is the first honest post you have made on these boards since about April.
