Yes, I noticed that, too. So there was little to do but run it on a fast track. To say Curlin dominated would be an understatement. I twenty runnings, here are the results. The points are based on the Breeders' Cup system for gr. I races: 10 for 1st, 6 for 2nd, and 3 for 3rd.
Curlin 19-1-0 196 points
Mambo in Seattle 0-9-6 78 points
Wanderin Boy 0-5-4 46 points
Timber Reserve 1-2-5 42 points
Merchant Marine 0-0-4 16 points
My day at the real races today has kept me off of my computer so I haven't even downloaded this weeks 2 stakes races. I'll try to do that tomorrow, or on Monday.
At the track I bet a trifecta box on Curlin, Wanderin Boy and Mambo In Seattle. Thought I was going to win, But Seattle finished fourth.
I was impressed that I never once saw Curlin's jockey using his whip. Looks like a push button horse to me,

Even playing in private mode, you cannot change track conditions on a pre-built race.

I had similar results from the sim, although Curlin was just a touch less dominant. But I knew he could run in the slop.
Based on my handicapping, my emotions (which I know is dumb) ,and the game results, I bet on Curlin, Wanderin Boy, and Mambo.
I bet on Curlin to win (boy that took some balls)
Trifecta on Curlin-Wanderin Boy-Mambo in Seattle
Trifecta on Curlin-Mambo in Seattle-Wanderin Boy.
Merchant Marine slapped me in the face. But what are you gonna do? It's a horse race.
