I've not been using them, because it's just easier to scan the list of available tournaments than to read all those messages, and then have to go to the find the tournament page anyway to see if the tournaments are appropriate for my horse. It would be different if it was possible to embed links to the tournament announced, but that apparently isn't possible at this time. I end up just deleting all those messages without reading them.
Is it possible to turn those notifications off somewhere? I've turned them off in my email preferences but I can't turn them off in my pms.
Anyone know? If there's no way, I can still do what I've been doing, no big deal, but my inbox would be cleaner and require less maintenance.

Mike says they cannot embed links in those messages for some reason.
There is also no way to keep from getting them. You can stop emails coming to your inbox about them, but not the PMs.

From your private messages, click on Preference. There, you can turn off the trainer tournament invites. You have to understand that you can only turn off the invites for new trainer tournaments. The 24-hour final notice invitations cannot be turned off and will continue to be sent to you as private messages. But, like I said, you can turn off all the initial ones.

Yeah, but the box says check the box for PMs you do want to receive. Mine is not checked.
Is there a missing word? Is it supposed to say "check the box for msgs you do NOT want to receive?"
My box has never been checked.

It's not checked in my preferences, but I'm still getting the messages.
It's not a big deal, I can still delete them easily enough, and it does give me a clue that they're in a publishing frame when there are lots of them. But I had a student ask, so I thought I'd check with the community to see if I was missing anything.

I still get them too.
