THEY TAKE TAKE TAKE BUT GIVE NOTHING. THEY NEVER BOTHER TO ANSWER OR ACKNOWLEDGE SUGGESION OR CONCERS, I REALY LOVE THIS GAME BUT YOU CANT WIN, IVE SPENT 100.00 IN 2 WEEKS ANY DONT HAVR ONE GOOD HORSE.

Once again, you new players need to consult with a competent mentor before going ahead and trying to do things on your own. This is the result nearly every time. If you don't wish to consult a mentor, you need to read the "Get Help" section. If you had done either or both of these things, you wouldn't be in the position you have just found yourself.
There is a whole thread on vetting in the most active topics section that you either have ignored or are just to lazy to click on and read. Why would you ever spend this kind of money without researching ??? You must be the type that shows up at a horse track, picks numbers, and then complains about the race afterwards.

I often lose from anywhere from 5 to 10 pts vetting. Other times, a small decrease, or small increase. Very very rarely, I have gotten large gains. I had one that vetted from about a 90 up to 141 last year. Another from a 110 up to 125.
A few times I have also dropped from ~105 down to the low 80s. I don't use it nearly as much as I used to.
Spending $10 and having no good horses to show for it is nothing. There are people around here that have spent around a thousand dollars and have never gotten a really GREAT horse. There is also one guy here who spent $1.90 (the cost for horses in the early days) and got one of the best horses of all time, on his very first try. Probably the only stable to show a net gain, when all costs are factored in.
Bear in mind, with the new classification system, you don't need a superhorse to win anymore.

Sorry this happened, this is a common complaint, and I agree the fee is too high. Here is an excert from the get help section. Explaining these fees.
Each Insta-Tournament is identified with a claiming price. The claiming price represents the number of community points that your horse could be sold for during the Insta-Tournament. If your horse was claimed during an Insta-Tournament, you would receive the equivalency of the claiming price less a percent of the claiming fee. This percentage for VIP members is 25% for fully nominated horses,40% for partial nominated horses and 55% for non nominated horses. For example, if your horse was in a 100,000 Insta-Tournament, you would receive 45,000 community points at the end of the Insta-Tournament if he was a non nominated horse. For For Non VIP members the claiming fee is 10% higher at each level.

The fee is to high, but this the only way we can unload our horses to other players. Or we can retire the horse and receive nothing. The choice is yours.

good point at least you get something for them, i just wish they made it a little less exspensive to be competative. Thanks for the info and calming me down. I claimed one yester and was charged fees today to my suprise. I guess we all tske our lomps in the begining

It's not a place to get rich,
but it is a great place to be entertained.
If you can accept that, and keep on enjoying and plugging away at it, you can have a great time and be successful, while you're spending your money.
More badges, we all want more badges.....

Advice to any and all new players. Take the game slow and easy. DO NOT expect to win at first.
There are way too many subtleties in this game to learn and understand before a consistant
winning plan can be created and maintained. In my mind, that point is what makes this game SO
facinating lol.
The betting game, the jock game, the training game ... all fantastic and fun :)
Expensve ? Yes, if you are a horse owner with more money than sense. Please, figure the game
basics out before you throw your real money at trying to breed the next superstar.
Thanks

The fees are too high- I also don't understand the take from owners on the purchase price. We pay stable fees, breeding fees, entry fees, why should they have a vig on our horses being claimed. Complete ripoff. But there are those dedicated supporters who spend and spend as if they have a chance to really benefit here in some way, other than be entertained. The same people are those who "Puddles calls" and gives special privileges to. The spenders rule the training game. The more you spend the better your results will be. I have stopped spending, retired more than half my barn, only kept the best and my winning % have only gone down. (Has to make you wonder doesn't it) ? The herd mentality rules here. Do not criticize or you will be edited and banned. Daakaa is a flying idiot, he does not matter. This game has only gone downhill for months in my opinion. They keep reaching into your pockets with every little tweak they make. DBacks - once entertained now only modestly interested. Happy 4th to everyone!!!!!!!!

Dbacks-I have posted this 100 times but for you I will do it again. The game was not built for claimers and was NEVER intended to have them . when we added them we needed to do thinks to protect the company from deceptive game playing tactics. 1) The claiming price does not represent the value of the horse if it did we would have the lowest level of claimers start at 5000 community points not 20,000. Do you think most the horses that run in the 20,000 claimers are worth the 20,000 community points? 2) We never had claimers and now we do , I will be glad to just cancel them and instead of having another option to race your horse we can just go back to the option of retiring the horse. 3) Claimers are ways players can pass horses to each other and between their ownaccounts and we need to protect that situation from happening . This was why we needed to set the claiming system up the way we did. . The higher the cost for the horse(FN and PN) the less we take when it goes into claiming races.
Not sure what your complaint is Dback this week but you have made yourself clear on several occasions that the game has gone down hill in the last few months .
In the last few months we released the following options all for the players 1) Optional claiming races (insta tournaments ) 2) Blue and red restricted tournaments 3) quarterly award bonuses 4) Jackpot and super jackpot bonuses
On top of this we are adding even more bonuses for an annual awards program and a business auction program that lets players own horse racing related businesses that earn community points by spending their stable earnings that currently have no value .
But if you think the game is going down hill please try playing Howse . There are 14 full-time employees involved with this company and it takes a lot of resources to continue to build out and manage what we are doing.
I invite you to do what I did and continue to do to make the game better. Take 750,000.00 of your own money and build a game on your own . let me know, I will be your first paying customer . I promise ...............

For you and I it is always personal. Plenty complain but if I say something it is always walk or be banned. I have complimented you in the past when things are good and speak the truth when they are not. Its not personal for me and Im sure you have pressures with the job and investment. Good Luck with both.

I was looking at the last time you won a final and the only reason I looked because I am on slide myself. But the last time you won a final was April 1, 2010. So I was thinking if you want to win another final maybe you should get yourself booted off again, because thats the last time you won a final. LMAO!

Re post #5
Good on you for doing the right things and trying, it's a great game, but can be very difficult and irritating too!
You could well say that i am not the most 'serious' or 'full on, get into it' player here, but i have had a go at all (most?) of the different ways you can play the game. ie trainer, jockey etc etc. Let me tell ya Jimmie, it may take a while before you see your 1st win or own a top horse!! Ain't that the truth!!! :P LOL
But i found, if you don't or can't get into a certain aspect of the game, try a different part of the game and give THAT a go!:)
At the moment, i'm pretty much, concentrating on the Challenge Buddys. Mainly coz i can't afford to do much else at the mo, but it's fun and bides my time until i can maybe afford to buy a horse again and try out the Blue Tournys. :)
It's a bit like golf or a game of pool. Ya know what ya gotta do, but sometimes ya just need another drink to hit the ball straight! AND to calm the nerves!! LOL
Re point #3, your bang on mate, in your description! ;
Cheers Jimmie, and good luck! Cya 'round the tracks :))
