can we have some generals that do not involve mortgaging the house on the board soon please and please do not make them all start a month from now ..........
Blair, come on mate!
We're taliking 10,000-12,000 pts to enter the lowest general, there are several available right now.
A McDonald's Big Mac meal, large size ,costs 65,000 pts where I live.
I just bought a 12 pack of Corona Cerveza, it was 125,000 pts.
So 10,000 to enter a general tournament? Chicken feed.(LOL)
Besides that, all VIPs get 180,000 free points per month. Think about it, that's a 12 pack and a Big Mac meal.
Non-VIPs , sorry but you only get a Happy Meal, that's why you need to become a VIP.
But free points are free points,at least you can eat a meal for free! (LMAO)
I'm just messing with you Blair, but I do see a lot of request going out in the General Requests page.
Which is a good thing. This is the first week of the new system, it's going to be great.
I'm looking forward to the release of more Blues, Turf especially.
Everyone just make sure that when Richard Macias requests the BIG tournament we're trying to organize, you all vote YES.

Well its cost more than that when you add in race fees. I see that the prices went up to play general tourneys and blues are higher than the old setup. It seems like this is not about fair racing anymore, its about putting more money in HRF pocket. We the players are spending more to play now and what did we get in return for the increase?
We spend more to play and now have fewer choices where to run are horses. Thanks Mod.
You people complain about the price of tournaments ?? Have you looked at how many points you have spent on breeding ??? 25-40 million for those complaining. You want to breed horses so you can watch them in private mode or something ???? Pony it up, people.
And oh yeah, no more entering low any more. What a shame, BAAA HAAH HAAHA AHAAAA !!!!!!!
~~ God save the Queen, then after that, save the new class system ~~
Yesterday there was a complaint saying that the tournaments were all too cheap (the Red Restricted), but that was before the person realized there are two levels of Red Restricted. Today the same person who was complaining yesterday that the purses were worthless is now complaining that the general tournaments are too high. General tournaments are for good horses and the entry fees are a direct correlation to the purses. Red Restricted tournaments have two price classifications. This will allow the small players to get involved and the bigger player, who happens to have some horses that fit restricted classifications.
For months, I heard nothing but complaints on how there was no classifications system, how the big barns (while it was well in their right, entered good horses in small events). Well now, we put a system in place that actually discourages the big barns from doing that and allows the smaller player a shot and allows bigger tournaments under any conditions a player wants as long as they are requested and approved by the community and can go for very high purses. I'm really not sure where the confusion comes from. Let's remember the problems we had with the tournaments just six weeks ago.
1. Big players dominating small tournaments (must have heard that a hundred times).
2. Too many tournaments not filling.
3. Big tournaments not filling or not getting big enough purses.
4. No classification system at all - not fair to the little guy.
5. Breeding horses that don't necessarily have any place to race.
Now we have addressed all of these issues at a big development cost. In fact, we posted the thread and asked for feedback. I think all feedback was positive except one. In addition, I spoke with twelve players, some in groups and some individually. No one objected to the program.
So now let me go through the 5 issues that were there.
1. It's highly unlikely that big players will enter small tournaments, especially restricted. They don't count toward the primary awards and leader board status. If they do enter horses in restricted events, they have no advantage over another player. That was the more crucial part.
2. Now that only requested tournaments with a 7,500 point minimum will be published, players will be serious about requesting them, they will fill and fill full resulting in bigger purses.
4. We now have a classification system and it makes sense. I've read a lot of comments about other classification ideas and those would be disastrous. For example, if you win a tournament, you have to move up in class. Well, let's just say your horse runs an exceptional race in a final in a class where he belongs and is competitive. So now he moves up and for several tournaments, you will be hopelessly defeated. You might as well throw the entry fee away. That system would last one day. Under the classification system we have now, you have the ability to place your horse consistently in a group where he should be competitive. Yes, I know there are exceptions, but such be life. Let's say your horse has an 85 birth speed and you enter him in a Blue Restricted 90 and below. Do you realy think that the horse who has a birth speed of 89.9 (4.5 points) is that much better than your horse? Absolutely not. In fact, anyone who thinks that is not paying attention. Look at any single race and what you'll find is that a 5 or 7 point difference in speed rating is less than a length-and-a-half. Think about that - a length-and-a-half. That's the difference of a horse going three-wide and the other horse going two-wide around the turn. THen, when you add in all the other traits and factors, those two horses matched up in ten races may win five apiece. Or, it could be that the 85 speed rating horse is outright better and the 89.9 has no courage. Those horses still need to be evaluated and placed correctly. Yes, I understand the choices are limited, but this needed to happen. Remember, I did the math - all the variations of track surfaces, distances, track conditions, types of tournaments, ranges in entry fees. There are hundreds of thousands of combinations.
Now horses are classified and good horses have absolutely no restrictions at all. You can request a tournament on any type of surface, distance, etc.
5. This was an issue for a lot of people. It's no secret. We make money when people breed horses. By creating these red and blue restricted tournaments under the structure that is now available, there's no need to try to breed a 130 horse of better unless you want a champion in your barn. Now a player who breeds horses in the 90's and low 100's can have fun at a lower level and enjoy the game. It also makes the insta-tournaments more valuable. Now you can claim out of the insta's and run your horses in blue and red tournaments and take that horse through an entire career against restricted horses and not have to worry about monsters beating you up. So, what we've done is increase the value of the people putting their horses in for claims and making it more advantageous for those who want to claim.
Here's my final thought on the subject, and I know there will be some snooty comments. We try at this company, and we try so hard to provide some level of entertainment that appeals to the masses. We're not about any individual. Yet, we understand the importance of the big player. We've listened to players and have had numerous conversations with over a hundred different players. Try to find this type of interaction from a management team of other game sites. We respect our players, and that's why we always go out of our way to keep improving our game for the long-term benefits.
On another note, I want to congratulate all of the winners of the Quarterly Rewards Program. Most of these guys have stepped up in a big way and have supported this game. It's our little way of giving something back to every one of those players who deserve it.
was it really necessary to carry the minimum tourney fee to 7500...there have been lots of changes here a lot good but one common thread increased costs for the paying players ...
Isn't this what we wanted, a "Class" System, the higher the "Class" of horse the higher the cost of the tournament....and payout for the winner should be!! Come On!!
"We try at this company, and we try so hard to provide some level of entertainment that appeals to the masses"
If there is anyone who wishes to argue this point, bring it on. Flyingdaaka will have a field day humiliating you. If you are not entertained by this website, then you have some serious issues that can not be corrected.
~~ God save the Queen, then after that, save the new class system ~~
I may be in the minority and new in here, but I have spent alot of time reading, waching and figuring. My business has been slow so 8 hours a day on here reading and snooping...lol I dont understand where the bitching is coming from either. I asked yesterday why the reds were so cheap and then poof there are 2 levels of reds awesome. We have blues that have so far been pretty damn competitive from what I have seen. Generals are not that expensive to join and if you think so, then keep your horses in blues and reds. What is the problem in dong that? I guess I have learned that you will never please everyone...I am sure there are still things that can and will improve, but man the direction is good. I mean you will always have people who enter low, even in real life...example stephen foster day at churchill this year, Rachel Alexandra entered a smaller race 1-9 odds and won easy...you think the other owners and trainers complained to Mr. Churchill and said you cant let her enter she is too good...do you think they thought they had a chance to win, probably not. Everything is not gonna be set up for your horses to win, I am sure there have been some good horses in real life that got bred to smaller owners who couldnt afford the breeders cup, I mean come on hasnt anyone seen the movie Dreamer with Dakota Fanning...poor family couldnt afford the big race either...lol I am sure somewhere on the internet there are free horse racing games, but this isnt one of them. So if you gotta pony up $45 to buy some points then save your money. Hell 500,000 points buys a few horses and some entry fees I think.
Magnificent state of the HRF union address Puddles! I feel invigorated now! Just hope that feeling last throught this first round of restricted tourny's my jacks and mules are running in. lol
just because u like something does not mean it was necessary..but i guess i have said my fill here is where i sign off .i wish you guys the best look out for my horses in instas ...
Your very right buddy. Members with average savings will strugle..

What happens to the player who has a very limited amount of money to spend on this game, who one day breed a horse with a birth SR of 135, AND can run at that level from its first start?
I guess you jockey every single day until you get the max points, and don't breed any more. If you have any more, you retire them. Concentrate on your Star. That would be an unfortunate situation indeed, and you have a small group of people to thank for it. The ones who made this new system necessary.
More than likely, that player isn't going to have a Star horse, but rather several horses of lower caliber. Look at the system HRF is using with the tracks and distances in the new Red and Blue restricted tournaments. Also look at the entry fees. These same tournaments are recreating themselves over and over, and it shouldn't be too difficult to find a place for your lower-caliber horse. For example, see how it does at 8f at HAW/CD/CRC/MTH/GP, in late season on dirt/fast, then find the track and entry fee that suits your horse and suits your wallet. Unless you prefer not to do any training, like JBWhiner. Then, just put them all into claiming races and post on the boards 16 hours a day about how unfair the game is.
EDIT: I want to add, that the idea of your stable paying for itself is pretty much fantasy. If you thought you were going to come in here and succeed enough to do that, best message support@horseracegame.com and ask them to cancel your account now. This is entertainment, and you pay for it.
XRays0 has made money off of playing this game by hitting the lottery+powerball on his first quick-pick ticket. I doubt there are many other people who have.
Flyingdaaka predicted people would scramble and struggle with the new class system. He had no idea just how much. This is absolutely fantastic. There are people in here posting and complaining, their fear is showing right through. They don't know what do next. They are no longer able to take their 130+ monster and put it up against a bunch of stiffs. They see that they have to enter that horse against others all just as good, if not better than theirs. This troubles them. They post and post and post, trying to come up with reasons to not have to enter their horse against similar company. It is an embarassment.
Blair, you were so damn cocky the other day. Telling everyone you can't compete with mediocre horses. You need fast horses to win. Where are all your fast horses ??? You seem upset because they aren't going into any cheapie tournaments any longer. The idea that the tournaments are too expensive is absurd. You have spent you fair share of points breeding. You'll come up with funds to enter tournaments. The problem you have is that you won't dominate tournaments any longer. You'll COMPETE in them.
Suncity appears to perhaps have given up the training game and try the jockey game. For the first time ever, Flyingdaaka has noted several recent entrances by Suncity into jockey tournaments. LOL. That "star" Miss Horizon, the winner of the quarterly bonus, was aided by sweeping a 2k entry fee tournament. Not much chance of that happening again, LOL. By the way, you voters, that should disqualify that horse from making the shed.
You people are fascinating. Flyingdaaka loves to sit back and watch this wild scramble. Thank you.
~~ God save the Queen, then after that, save the new class system ~~
Mojo is right, this is an entertainment site, I think sometimes we forget that.
This is a fantasy horse racing game for you to play and enjoy, sometimes we take it a little too serious.
It costs money to play, it's very rare if you're going to make a profit playing this game. It's possible, if you're really good or really lucky. But over all, you pay to play and be entertained.
The new class system will work, and I'm sure the numbers will be tweaked, if necessary.
Just find your spots, find your level, and enjoy!
As far as Puddles' comment about a dog racing class system being disastrous,,,,,,whatever Puddles. (LOL)
The horses would move up after a tourney win, but be able to drop a grade after 3 starts without a win, not 3 tournaments.
But whatever, you don't see me complaining about the game, just a few of the players.(LOL)
And if those few players were entering low level Tournaments before, they have Red and Blue restricteds now.
If you have a 125+BSR, and 7500 cp and a few 1000 cp race fee is too expensive for you. (we're talking one US dollar).
If $1 is too expensive for your budget, retire the horse, as Instas are the same price as the lowest Generals.
The bottomline is, stick to your budget! You get free daily points!
Can you go to McDonalds and get free food?
I went to the Movies and dinner last night with my lady friend, I spent 780,000 pts.($78 US).
The Movie sucked, the food was OK, but unfortunately there was no forum for me to bitch and complain.
I didn't even get "lucky".
I could have been here trying to get lucky in the shed, instead.
LOL Vas (or is that Billy? See other threads...!:P)
780,000 spent on a filly and still no return of investment??!!
That WOULD suck!
Well at least something did!!!!! LMFAOOOO :)))

You made me spit my coffee out. You didn't spend enough buddy I spent 1,100,000 points last night, on dinner and a Movie and had to sit through TWILIGHT, but wasn't so unlucky lol. I wonder if it was Twilight or the extra points I spent.....
But i'm glad to announce that after several attempts of rehabilitation, i found that nothing worked and i am still a crazy, mad, phsycotic, joker of the classroom, alcoholic kangaroo! :P WOOHOOO!!
In fact i'm here to give the Wombat the sack, coz he is starting to worry me with his lapses of memory and putting the wrong names to faces, and looks like he can't handle his drink,so yes people, as his latest avatar shows, the Wombat has gone on a walkabout for a while, and.......
Jack's Back!!! WOOHOO Again! LOL
So what's been happning peeps??? :))
I think he has just been more successful than i have been, in trying to stay away from the game and get a real life back!
I think it was either that or find a new wife!!! LOL
Seriously! :P
This fruitcake is unbelievable. He runs out of points, and immediately jumps over to another free account. Don't stop now Uncle crazy, you have about 200 more silly posts to go before you can get another free horse !!
It's not really the act of it that sickens Flyingdaaka. It's more of the bold, brazen, rub it in your face attitude that goes with it. No shame at all. Flyingdaaka is surprised that there isn't more of an outcry from paying members. It shouldn't be tolerated. If you want to be a free player, that's fine, but openly jumping back and forth from free account to free account, without shame or respect for paying members, is disgraceful.
~~ God save the Queen, then after that, save the new class system ~~
I'm a little late on this and after my previous take on the restricted tournaments, I have a few things to say...
PUDDLES
For example, if you win a tournament, you have to move up in class. Well, let's just say your horse runs an exceptional race in a final in a class where he belongs and is competitive. So now he moves up and for several tournaments, you will be hopelessly defeated. You might as well throw the entry fee away. That system would last one day.
Isn't that what the reds have done to a lot of people. I had a horse competing under 110 dirt/fast and he magically ran a 110.2! Now what happened??? He gets put up in class, basically, and therefore cannot compete in any red restricteds for under 120! As you said, he would be hopelessly defeated. The only hope he has in running on turf, which he can run over 110, but there are no res restricteds for turf. I think a lot of us have already thrown away our entry fees. SR, SR, SR! 4 or 5 points is a big difference when the OTHER FACTORS come in to play. You said that yourself. Every single person in this game has a horse that is probably 4 or 5 points away and one, probably the lesser BSR can demolish the other horse in every way, shape or form.
For my good buddy vasdef.
You said if we breed a horse over 125, then we shouldn't have a problem spending 7500 community points on an entry fee. Once again, SR isn't everything. There are plenty of 125s that can't compete at there expected birth speed ratings, yet. So, what does that have to do with trainers knowing that they have a competitive horse that can't compete yet and you don't want to flock points out for him to get killed? Most of them hit their peaks late. If they specialize on a less preferred track and manage to perform a bit better there, there is no where for him to turn on the reds because they only have stinkin' dirt and not in the blues because it stops at 124!
Daaka!
You're amazing! In an amusing way! Not everyone is scared. I'm scrambling because I need different surfaces and would like to have them show us the rest of the available distances, even if there aren't an overwhelming amount of horses. What do they expect the synthetic and sand runners to do? And Daaka, you know I have never knowingly misplaced a horse. Except Kontroll Freaks first 3 year old tournament when she ran all 130s for the classic distance, previously she had run 120s only.
I think somebody had an issue with the tournaments available now. I understand your pain. The reason is is because HRF shut out all of the tournaments for July pretty much because they were under the community point boundary that they decided to randomly set. I think they should have waited and let the tournaments run for july. I think that's why people are in frenzies because they had been waiting for the tournaments that got APPROVED for july, so they already had in mind what they were going to do for the month and now all they have is dirt everywhere all day, everyday. If you requested anything other than dirt than your options are limited. Especially for distances. Have you looked at the synthetic tournaments. Only 8F!!! And I think there are only 2 or 3 for 3 year olds and maybe 3 year olds and up!
Big problem...
I hear ya! But I look at it this way!
Before these changes, probably 80% of the horses born had no chance, nowhere to run unless they were great surface/condition specialist. Now that number has been cut down to say 10%, which are probably 125+ BSRs that suck and older horses under 125 BSR.
Like Puddles has said, there are way too many combinations to please every horses preferences, but at least there are more options now for a majority of the horses born.
For every 125+ born that doesn't live up to it's potential, there is a 120-125 that can run 10-20 SRs above it's BSR.
So it all evens out. I'm willing to bet that a majority of the players will be quite pleased with the new system once it get's rolling. Today is really the first full day of set-ups.
If we get more participation in the general requests, then there will be spots for everyone. It's just that if your horse specializes in anything other than Dirt Fast or Firm Turf, then it's going to have to specialize at a G1 or G2 level.
Maybe as the game continues to grow, more will be added to the Blues.(4&up and more surfaces/conditions).
But if they lower the fees of the Generals, nothing will change.
The biggest complaint I see, is the new fees of the Generals.
But that was the problem in the first place, every single Tournament was starting to have Secretariat and Ruffian in the starting gate. And I don't care what anybody says, to have the same level of horses running in every single tournament,no matter the purse size, was getting ridiculous! Why have ungraded thru G1 classifications, if every race had a 130+ in the gate?
The main thing to remember is that Puddles' got input from several players, so if you have a gripe, blame those airheads. ROFL!
I'm calling my fellow players "Airheads", out of Love and Respect.
Westphalia, you are getting outvoted. There's no doubt about it. The class system gets approval from nearly every member. The disgruntled are the ones who want to enter their monsters in 1 and 2k tournaments. They simply will not be able to do that any longer. If you want to play with the big boys, then you will play with the big boys, head on. You will face them with your horses, against their horses. There will be no more facing the big boys by beating up on the weak.
If you have a specialized horse, the place it will need to go is to instas. Hey, if nobody claims it, great. If it is claimed, then that trainer now has the headache trying to find a placing for it. There is very very little to not like about this class system.
The nicest thing about it, is Flyingdaaka, and the common HRF trainer can now face the big boys IF they choose to do so. They are no longer forced to do so. Flyingdaaka will enter some generals, he just won't do it with every horse, like he was forced to do before. It gives the common HRF trainer options that didn't exist before. You need to start seeing it this way.
~~ God save the Queen, then after that, save the new class system ~~
You have no idea birdbrain!
If you bothered, or had the decency, to answer my previous posts as the Wombat and ask me about it all, (as i offered several times!) you wouldn't be shooting your mouth off again.
The fact is, is that until last nite in the forums, i have never run the 2 accounts at the same time. If you read them you would see that i was just playing around in preperation to nul and void the wombat character and bring back the roo. Purely as a character change, as the wombat was too sedate and the roo is a much more lively and funnier character. IT WAS NOT FOR A POINTS ADVANTAGE, as you seem to think! The only reason Wombat is on nearly no points is because they are all tied up in Challenge Buddys, which i will now lose and forfeit because i won't be using that account ever again. I will also be forfeiting a not bad horse (114 sr) and having to start my stable(if i choose to do so) from scratch.
I WILL NOT be recieving any free points or new horses for joining up again as you reckon. I am purely just bringing back an old friend to the forums and logging in under that name again. One who is has a sense of humour, has a good repore and is friends with many of the players here, and doesn't whinge and bitch about every other persons' business. Unlike 'some' around here!!
Besides anything else, most people who know me, knows 0wombat0 and Outbackjack are the same guy now anyway. So that is exactly why i said to myself 'why the hell not just bring back the roo??!!'
I'm here to try and have fun, a bit of a laugh and a joke, and hopefully put a smile on a few peoples' faces. What's your reason for being here dakka??!
That'd be right, you just stay in your own boring sad little world and continue being the pessimistic wanker that you are!

Well you need to update it because its showing horses that won a blue race being on the leaderboard.

was it really necessary to carry the minimum tourney fee to 7500...there have been lots of changes here a lot good but one common thread increased costs for the paying players ...

Isn't this what we wanted, a "Class" System, the higher the "Class" of horse the higher the cost of the tournament....and payout for the winner should be!! Come On!!

are now your "top tier" tournaments for the best horses in the game and i think the minimum 7.5k is very reasonable.

Nice post, Mike.

Thank you.

5 weeks 6 hours
1 hour 59 min
