I defended Xaundu On the Big Guns Final but disagree with the weights in this finals. I think he may be another that is trying to cap too many races at once. He has displayed some knowledge of capping in most of his finals, so obviously doing too many at once.

I have a horse in one of those finals, so I feel a bit uneasy about commenting on the handicapping. But I would urge all members to look at this handicapper's races and vote on whether or not you think he did a good job or a bad job. I also agree feedback is neccesary for this final as i disagree with the final handicapping done here. The following is my assessment with limited time i have tonight.

1-River Run (116lbs)
2-The Holy Ghost (117lbs)
3-King Ron (118lbs)
4-Twin Engine Gene (122lbs)
5-All To Myself (117lbs)
6-Bubblebutt (115lbs)

I agree with mod and Dusty the community needs to vote on these it is hard to get stuff done without votes

If handicappers final to use female/male weights carried in prelims then finals will NEVER be correct..
Females carry 3 or more less then males depending age of tournament..
my example here is 2yr old.. females 119..males 122 standard.
females have a 3 pound break on males so = and - from this must be used... NOT ahhhh that female won prelims give her top weight..WRONG WRONG WRONG!!

If you think a female is the best horse then give her say +4 cap..
The male might be very poor horse and landed last on leader board..so give him -4... all horses in between might have +2 or -2, same, +1 or -1

THIS MUST BE DEDUCTED FROM PRELIM WEIGHT CARRIED......
1.. best...female best horse will now carry 123
2...worst...Male worst horse will carry 118
3....A male maybe 3 or 4th pick might have -1 so will carry 121

Now the owner of the 3rd horse i mentioned CANNOT complain he is 2nd top weight because in reality the female got+4 and he got -1 so he actually has 5 pound better off even though weights say only 2 pound different.

This is so simple and takes maybe 20 minutes to cap a race using history and prelim results.. not sure how others can justify weights they hand out..

But I believe both races are not handicapped correctly. There could be more races out there, but I only look at the ones I'm in.

Send them to the computer handicapper then. I'm sure that wouldnt bring any complaints.

All we want is handicapping that is thought thru first and done in a fair fashion. These races aren't and if we can expect similiar finals to be done in this matter then I think we should close the training side of HRF, because we all know the computer handicapping stinks.

Every race is handicapped the same way 114lbs for some horses 50-1 and 4-1. Its a nightmare that you stewards or whoever is in charge to let any of these races go. I cant believe how bad they are done. Who is watching the handicappers? Why did Puddles had out of these stewards badges if a non steward like myself has to post poor handicapped races?

I expect somebody to look over every open race and do something about them. Because all these races are being handicapped wrong and your basically stealing points away from the trainers who entered these tourneys.

I just quickly assessed my assessment and here are my assessments assessmented results below..

not so easy with SLOP sr's but it shows how easy it is to simple give +/- adjustments to prelim carried weights without screwing or priviling any horses more then needed..

i highly recommend "flying daaka" and "billyboy2674" to be the next handicappers. show us that your good not only in instas and forums. i know this guys is suitable because weight range was chopped down to almost 50%, 6-8 lbs weight difference, not so difficult for 1-2 breeder's cup a day.

I see some people joined this thread, but most cant be bothered and thats why we still have alot of problems in all aspects of hrf. I have been told I like to BS sometimes. That may be true. I am angry that nobody admits to poor handicapping or anything that is done wrong. They show a blind eye and dont want to make any waves. Well enough is enough, if your not going to step up and confront issues at hrf then you should be expected to be stepped on.

Well yes Suncity that race is poorly handicapped. But as usually nobody is doing anything about this problem. I am not saying anything yet. Ok I cant help myself like xanadu77 cant help himself either by handicapping races correctly. So I going to start virtually puching faces and kicking a$$ from now on, because I also cant help myself from making poor decision.

I just realized my assessment would not be possible because handicapper margins have changed.. this needs to be looked at again if possible..
what i did by giving best horse +2 and lessor or lower horses -4.. or say bubblebut _6 even then i have actually GIVEN FIELD 8POUND MARGIN..... this is maximum allowed..
HOWEVER to look at actual weight carried depending male/female i would not be able to use these weights in the final, simply because actual weight carried would be greater margin from top to bottom weights... this is a small loophole or flaw which needs to be considered..

If handicappers use common sense i feel no need for restricted margin from top to bottom weighted horses. the stewards could easily adjust the margin if it was insanely wrong (like bubble but -100 hahahaha)

I give example that upset me last week..
my horse female 119 prelims
freelance male 122 prelims..
Now freelance horse beat mine both meetings at 3 pound more weight..
Come final (computer) my female carried 4 pound more then freelance horse which obviously gave my girl (7pound disadvantage)zero hope other then 2nd place...now how can anybody say im wrong to complain about that with a 500k purse??? its just wrong if its not done right..obviously!!

My point is if handicappers ignore the male/female issue then horses will be at major disadvantage or great advantage with wrong weights given.. even more so over longer distances...

Thats the problem nobody says nothing around here unless it benefits them like this class system in place now. Maybe they could gave us a 6 month heads up on the change over. I just ran my sr111.3 who average 140's slop in recent tourneys at a lower grade and didn't win at those levels. Now first race in new general tourneys high pointers it got smashed and ran a 122. So this means my horse is now out classed in this new system we have and it stinks on dirt and only reason I keeped it because it ran 140's being a sr111. So now its useless with this new general tourney system. This new system has ruined alot of stables and horses that alot of people invested real money into. My horses are not monsters either because I only won 9 finals with all the choices of tourneys before and now do you think I will win now in expensive tourneys, NO WAY.

Just to keep everybody updated since I have been counting I lost my last 23 finals. WTG!

As it is handicapped now 3 horse have MAJOR advantage here..

king of slop runs average 107 will carry 10 pound less
toronto blue runs average around 111 will carry 11 pound less
explosive bull runs average around 105.. will carry 11 pound less

in my view best horse is summer tan which will carry same prelim weight..121
So here we have 2 horses that run average sr's 111 to 114 yet toronto gets 11 pound advantage from prelim weight carried..at 115

and the winner is ?????????????? should be toronto...

If the greatest variance between top wieght and bottom wieghted is 6 or 8 pounds allowed.. how can a horse get a 10 or 11 pound drop from the top weight using weight carried prelim female/male formula....

I count 38 blue badges-- is that right?

I know 29 are instas-- but at my historical rate, it would take me a year of playing to catch up to your current win total, whether I put all my stock in instas or generals from this point forward.

I did have a little look at the weights then. I would love to have mods horse in my finial , looks like a good thing.... Ill go and place a few bets on it now :o)

9 Finals aint much when you spent 40 million points = 4,444,444 per win, yes thats a great investment

I agree and already voted, same capper did the following tournament as well... even though I was given an advantage in both races, I feel it was not warranted.

FACT OF THE DAY:
Set wieghts for prelims , and handicapped wieghts for the final just dosent work if people are not going to sign wieghts based on prelim wieghts carried.

I think when qualifying for a final there should be a minimun and maximum wieght release or gain for everyhorse. ill give you an eXample. lets just say joe blows horse is a female and carried 119 in the prelims and jonny bravo horse is a male and carried 122 in the prelims , joes blow horse will have a minimum of 115 and a maximum of 123 , and jonny bravos horse should have a minimum of 118 and a maximum of 126..

jonny bravos horse won 2 out of 3 prelims and second in the other lets say , and joe blows horse 1 first and 2 thirds .. how much release should joe blow horse get on jonny bravos horse when assigning wieghts and what wiehts should they carrie? goin by my min/max stradegy!!

Who knows who blows Joe? The only answer is scale everything then we will see the horses who used to win 1 prelim and then post 2 crappers turn around and win 3 prelims. Then will we say wtf your horse just won 3 prelims and the final and for your horse whole career up to this tourney it managed to win once and then in the final. Which is the things that are happening now to gain a huge weight break and win at high odds. Thats why people complain the favorites aren't winning in some finals, that because sometimes the best sandbagger wins the final race.

scale wieghts will make things to predictable, it will take all the fun out of the training side of the game ....

I think it wont, thats why 80% of my stable is going to race in blues. I rather lose at scale weights then some hack job in final weights. I haven't had any luck in handicapped weights, but some how I win in instas which are scale weights.

Also in one insta I know my horse was a sr105.7 and it beat some 110's horses and that was scaled weight race. Who would have predicted a 105 beating 115's-120's?

Thats good you have more badges. HRF will be scratching there a$$ to trying to figure out why Redterror doesn't spend any money on here and then they will decide maybe they should gave all the great horses away to non spenders and make others spend 40million points and have nothing to show for it except credit card debt.

Well lets see if giving great horses to cheapys will payoff for HRF while big spenders got nothing but bills and empty stables.

Sorry Garylim, Flyingdaaka will never be a handicapper. Flyingdaaka is far more interested in judging people in the forum, training his horses, and entering instas, as you say. LOL.
Besides, with the exception of these fruitcakes rambling on about weights, most people by now realize weights are not that important. Post position and properly placing your horses are far bigger factors in tournaments.

Lol! I agree Mod! IMO,in the sprint races of course pp is a major factor but also break speed too is as crucially important,especially if the track is near/on a bend! The weight factor is being blown out of proportion far too much lately,the best horse won on the day! Well done Chris! ;-)

So far the favorites won 4 of 11 races, and the non favorites won 7 of 11. So no the best horses have not won all the championship races today, nice try....it sounded good.

LMAO Mod... your right though some these guys are getting pretty High and Mighty... there are many many ways to see every race especially these sprints where the prelims have 10-14 horses in them, any horse that draws post postitin 6+ can pretty much kiss there chances of winning or even placing goodbye...unless that horse is Chelsea lol. Anyway when I saw Going Solo Drew the 1st post position in that race I liked his chances to win no matter what the other horses weights were. You guys need to let the current system work...as it has xanadu, the community has spoken, and that is just the way the system is supposed to work, we need to weed out the bad and keep the good. I do think there needs to be a way for these races to be recapped though especially since he capped so many. Thanks for the props on the win bookie and MOD.

Where did the favorite finish and I would add it started in post 2. I like how you guys left this part of the story out. The favorite finish 6th.

Whoever said the best horse was always the fav? Check out some of the all weather results at some of the UK tracks:-Wolverhampton,Lingfield,Kempton and Southwell and you will find 90% of your best horse favourites don't end up in the first three!

Why would I check all weather results in real racing when this is fantasy racing. Whats the point to run prelim races to exclude certain horses from the final race? The prelims are to weed out the crap (which is crappy horses that cant win) and pin point the best horses the usually finish in the top 4 of the prelims. Fantasy races are suppose to be about the best horse that runs in the prelims and finish at the top of the prelims and then go to finals for a easy win. If this isn't the case then lets forgo the prelims and have the final in the first race.

Mate you were the one who stated the 'best horses win all day' not me,i merely said 'the best horse won on that perticular race!!! And your 4/11 winning favs in my book is a pretty good average! Lol! I gave the AW results as an example of REAL racing! Thought you would appreciate that but then again you seem to be more focused on the fantasy side of horse racing! ;-)

Maya 119lbs SR113.30
Slippery Dancer 119lbs SR110.60

Now you would think Maya would be 1-2lbs heavier than Slippery Dancer in the final would be fair weight break.
But in the final race Maya was 6lbs pounds heavier. Thats wrong handicapping and was same handicapper that you guys said did a great job after all. So this caused the favorite Maya to finish 9th and Slippery Dancer to finish 2nd.

Weight plays a big part in all races and heres other example of wrong weights.

Wouldnt your time be better spent on training your horses and finding how to place them properly? Your percentages might even get better if you applied that strategy. Favorites dont win all the time. Fantasy or real. You keep quoting speed figures that horses run in prelims, but i doubt you even watch those races. Was this horse blocked in a certain race? How would you know, you would just chalk it up to a trainer sandbagging a race. Horse runs a 120. Did he get an easy lead and get to conserve his energy till the end? Theres so many factors in handicapping other than your style of just going off of speed figures.

Well, I was reading down through the posts and I have found them quite interesting. I really think All To Myself should have a weight of 117 assigned to her. I don't think she should have been 10:1 either.

On another note, I am going for my 5th trainer here. I have three finals so I would think I should get that 5th win and the badge out of one of them.
