Who ever shows up is fine by me, but I would really love to go up against Wells Fargo as well as Lord Outstanding, even if they kick my (horses ) butt.

Have the entry fee and race fees come out to around 200- 250K total investment. Huge purse for huge horses!

I have a horse or two that I would run. Their not much, but maybe can manage a 4th.

Let's do this.

If we choose Classic Distance, I'll throw in Serena Williams (any surface/condition,except slop)
If we go 11+ F, I'll throw Majestic Beauty. (any surface/condition,except slop)
I have no sprinters/sloppers

So what's up?
Anyone can enter, but it should be special invitation to horses in the Top 100.
But the "feature" challenge to Stark Reality,Forever Silent,VooDoo Fever and Serena Williams, as these horses are all around the same age, and also the youngest horses in the Top 20. And all run roughly the same distance.
One of us can contact Dusty and Dragonfeather, see if they're interested and seek their input.

Let's get the ball rolling on this!

So Stark better look out, if we get this tournament going. LOL

I'm ok with what you have or even having two races each on different surfaces to accomadate some of the other horses preferences (example: two dirt, two turf, two sand, two synthetic). The distance for the races could be @ 8.5 and 9.5 f for each surface. We will need a minium of eight horses to commit. Send out some PM's and take a poll if you get enough players willing to enter (also for any one willing to enter just PM vasdef now and save him the time of contacting you), you can then propose it to puddles to have his staff create the tournament. You can already count me in and I'll pay the "Request Tournament" fee to build it. If he says no that will be that, it's not going to happen and if that is the case we can get back to the upcomming tournaments.

I would really like to know if the community would like to see such a tournament, I know that to me it would be a lot of excitment, like attending as close to a real BC tournament as it can get for an internet computer game. I also think that regardless of how the tournament races come out there will be alot of action on the BC Final in the Challenge Buddy as every horse in the tournament will have as good as any to win that finals race.

From Puddles' blog yesterday :

"I'll be publishing approximately 40 to 50 general trainer tournaments this weekend (most of which have been requested and approved and meet our go-forward guidelines). In addition to those, I'll be publishing some other special tournaments for our top horses."

You know Puddles is already on top of it.
So I'll PM some players, just to make them aware. But we'll see what HRF has in store, and I'm pretty sure it'll be what we're looking for.
Win , Lose or Photo Finish, it's going to be exciting to have the Top horses running together.
Not every tournament, but once in awhile. (We don't want to bump heads getting into the shed.) LOL

But i can't compete with the big boys just yet...someday i will :(

I hope it happens. I am already anxious to read the generals commentary after each race. I remember a while back last year when the general put voice on a race as announcer, even then this youngster was looking forward to the possibilities that could and should someday become realities. I think it would be cool to do something like that for this tournament or at least for the BC Final. You know, the horses walking down the track to be put into the starting gates with the announcers providing comentary on each horses achievements, etc. If they could do something like this, (run the race as normally done, add the commentary and possibly have someone call the race as well) and then show the race would add a sense of realism to it. I may be getting ahead of myself but at some point in time it will be possible.

Let's see what transpires.

It all comes down to how many of the top 100 horses do you want in the tournament 8 – 12 if conditions are restricted to classic distance and a lot will pass , or do you want 30 - 40 horses with a mix of sprint up to 10f. On all 4 grounds.

(Just an example)
As a spectator I would like to watch horses like chelsea take on mdm mister pink
vodoo fever and forever slient take on lord outstanding
Ghost killer taking on wells Fargo

A major tournament with 20 races
All 4 grounds dirt fast – sand – syn - turf
6f – 7f – 8f – 9f – 10f each ground type.

All grade 1`s. 5 races per horse which allows all horses involved to still be able to pick there right conditions and not be forced into racing on the wrong conditions.

Top 100 horses only
100k tournament fee + race fees.
Finial over 7f – 9f something around that distance
10 – 12 horse finial – less depending on the amount of horses in the tournament.

You could even have 4 finials in the tournament to cater for each horse and up to the trainer which finial or finials he wants to quilf for.

If something like this actually happens, I want to be the first to put in my selections.
In a field of 6 with Forever Silent, Voodoo Fever, Serena Williams, Stark Reality, Wells Fargo, and Misty Images on a fast dirt Churchill track going 1 3/16, here's how they finish.
1) Misty Images 2 1/2
2) Serena Williams neck
3) Stark Reality sh hd
4) Forever Silent 1/2
5) Voodoo Fever 3 1/2
6) Wells Fargo
*Time: 1:51.87

I talked it over with Voodoo Fever and she said, "Let's go for it!"

For the Top Horses, I would hope that HRF would write separate Tournaments for each category of horse.
(Sprinters,Milers,Distance).

For the low level horses, I can see lumping them all together(for a low-fee, big purse, mass event)
But if we're talking Top Horses and big point entry fee, then I think all trainers would want a legitimate shot at winning.
Some horses like LO, can win at any distance, but she's an exception to the rule.
So the final should be close to each horse's optimum range.

There would need to be separate Tournaments to include everybody.
As far as Richard's initial challenge, I think he was looking for some challengers for "Stark Reality".

But it would be awesome to see some of the up and comers take on the older greats.
Also, I think it would be great for the game, to get a few rivalry match-ups going.

I knew Dusty would be all in.

I kind of like the Generals early picks, how about we make this Tourney just for 4yos. ROFL!

The likelyhood of HRF getting involved in something like this is slim to none as this was attempted before not to mention they have their hands full. You guys will have to get together and organize it yourselves and submit tournament requests yourselves. Saying that it's a great idea as long as you do it in a way that no one feels left out.

I sort of figured that Mod, but then Puddles put his blog out last night, which he said he was "going to write some special tourneys for Top horses".

There's no problem with us organizing and requesting/voting on it ourselves.
We just need to get it done. Shouldn't be a big deal, we're already half way there.
I think Richard has a great idea here.

I totally agree with you and this idea as i was part of a group last year that put a triple crown together and Puddles did work with us but in a limited role. Discuss,organize,advertise early to get attention of everyone and get Puddles to work with you by publishing tourneys needed for this event.Good Luck to everyone involved!!

Mr Mojo Rising is blushing just to be considered to compete against such horses as those mentioned in this thread. He is qualified to enter 2 levels of Blue restricted tournaments. However, Signal 19, Foxtrot Uniform, and Night are all willing to give it a go.
