i have recently got the game and dont know what to do.i cant even get in any tournaments

Also I should amend my first post to say I am talking about the trainer game. I rarely jockey anymore.

I sent you a PM about seven hours after your post here, telling you what to do. That was two weeks ago. Never received an answer. I never once saw you online, and I am on here all the time. And I do mean, ALL the time. I was unemployed until this past Monday, and had nothing to do but this. You were never around.

I sent you a reminder email through the mentor system. No response.

I have been told not to give them bad ratings cause it will get me in the end
if I were to do what they did and not had the interest the person who taught me
would have gave up on me too I agree 100% with you when you say if you dont want to learn

We've all seen how people in here will cheat, scheme and game the system. Well, this student thing is yet another example of an attempt to game HRF. Flyingdaaka hates to be blunt, but, it is generally done from foreigners not based in the U.S. They sign up as a multi-account user to get the free horse and points. Then sign up as a student to get more free points. God forbid they actually buy points or become a VIP on their original account. That would be considered "supporting the beliefs and causes of the infidels from the West". Not sure why HRF is so high on attracting these "players" from other countries. This type of attitude and behavior is what they will run into.

Hey MrMoJok !!! ... I totally agree with you on the new student thing !!! ... I have had Bad experiences with new members of the game looking for us Mentors to help them out ... Now I will Gladly help anyone out on the game in what ever they need help in ... But what is really ( Annoying ) and irritating is that Alot of new players from ( other countries ) get you to be their mentor , then like you say !! ( after a day or two 0n game they disappear ) and never get back in touch with you ... I've had four students do that to me already and I had to ( terminate ) them right away for not even attempting to keep in touch with me to ask questions !! ... I'm at the point not even ( accepting ) new players to mentor from a different country anymore !!! ... Hope new players of the game will understand this !! ... ( BECAUSE ONLY SERIUOS STUDENTS NEED TO APPLY ) here with me too !!!

but to me it dont matter where they are from if your not interested then i really dont want
to accept them I have seen where the interest and hard work have gotten me not that i am
a top trainer yet but i see if you work hard and put the time in you can be right up there
and yes daaka i agree alot of people only care about the 20k points and the free horse

I've had disappearing students from here in the good old USA and I've had great students from overseas. I don't think we ought to overgeneralize.

That being said, I wonder, Puddles, if you'd consider taking away the sign up bonus for students, and give them the whole 25K points when they graduate and the mentor gives them a "participated in the program" grade? That might take away the incentive for bogus students to occupy space in mentor classrooms that could be better used by folks who really want some help with the game?

I would like a mentor, if you please. I am on here practically everyday. I did the little student sign up thingy, but nothing else happened for a couple weeks now so... not quite sure what I do next. I do have some experience with this game, though I would love to learn more. I'm mostly into the trainer game though, so...

Oh, and there's no need to be racist, or xenophobic. That kind of thing upsets me... I would hope a game like this would cater to all people from all walks of life, and would not be discriminatory.

yeah, you'll have to actually go into your student profile and submit a request to a mentor. They can't pick you.

I recently applied to be a mentor and was accepted. I have three students (my first three) and not one of them has bothered contacting me for advice. I have sent them a message telling them straight 'why bother requesting me when you have no interest'! Not one response.

Is it possible for me, and how, to terminate these three wastes of space early? so other students who do want to learn can get a chance, as you know three is the limit.

Maybe HRF should let the mentors decide wether students get the 20,000 on completion, if students sign and don't bother the mentor should get the points!! If students play ball they are entitled to the points. This would stop all this nonsense.

southcoast, open the mentor profile, now after few days of non activity the student will have a "send email reminder" message beside them... once you click that and send message you then have ability to terminate if no responses..

as for the 20k..we as mentors do determine this.. good rating=20k to student.. bad rating= 0 points to student...

Damn straight.And looking at your numbers recently,I'm about to repent.
As you can see,I'm an excellent teacher,having done teaching for most of my life.
I am extremely happy at not having any students right now,basically because the larger part are only in it for the easy win.
They are also quick to the draw of your condemnation if they don't get it.
Ruffian15 used the magic words:"I'm desperate...I'm trying to figure it out".
Those are the only students I enjoy helping,because they are willing to put in the effort.
But they are few and far between.
A teacher can only be as good as his student and the quality(substance)of his questions.
I was lucky to have King Racodo,master Chris and chief analyst Slavedave in my corner,but they can only testify that I drove them batty with loads of questions.
As it stands,I will only accept students who write me a PM and demonstrate they are willing to take the game seriously.
Anything aside from that is a waste of valuable time.

Im a mentor and I didn't know that I decide if the student gets the points. That's terrible!! He He!!

i would love to be student but the only time i can get online and participate is after 2 am. I work 2nd shift and don't get home till 1:30 am. If anyone is up at this time and willing to mentor me i would bemore than happy to do it.

to the mentor you'd like to have. Let them know your situation. You can post questions and they can post replies without being online at the same time, you just have to wait a little longer for your answer. But if they know you're sincere and make the effort to contact them, I'm sure there are several mentors out there that could help you. I'm booked up for now, or I would.

Whatever mentoring is or maybe, Flyingdaaka feels that at the point of accepting a student, the mentor should be entitled to the incentives starting from that point. Flyingdaaka believes the mentor is not eligible until the student completes the program. This goes against Flyingdaaka's philosophy. Flyingdaaka encourages his students to immediately sign up for VIP status. That is likely the most critical move a new player can make. It is almost impossible to attempt to be competitive without being a VIP. It also proves to Flyingdaaka that the student is serious, and thus worthy, of Flyingdaaka's sacred time. Flyingdaaka will not tell the student to wait until completion of the student program before signing up to become a VIP, just so he can receive the mentor incentives.
In addition, why not give mentor incentives if the student does well in a tournament during the student program. The mentor is likely to be involved in placement and strategy and should be rewarded. Once again, what is a mentor to do, wait until the program ends and then tell the student, "OK, now go ahead and enter tournaments, but during the student program, nothing but jockey tournaments for you !!"

And by the way Mr. Mojok, you could have offered Flyingdaaka some advice and assistance instead of beating him up and ridiculing him about his performance !!!! That would have been more mentor-like !!!!

I have had really good students so far and are now major stables in the game , I have all so had a few no shows , and a couple of students what have not left feedback. I think a good idea. If a student does not leave feedback with in the 72 hour time period after the program ends (YOU SHOULD GET THE GOOD RATING ) after all if you help a student for 2 weeks or 4 weeks and do everything to help the student during this time and for some reason the student not been able to come online or is away and can not come on line with in the 72 hours after the student program ends . The mentor should and is only fare they get a good rating. This should be the same if the student does not leave feedback.

Its hard to get a mentor I tried about 6 mentors I wanted and all turned me down been a new student at the time and the other mentors were all taken , Its hard for a new student who wants to sign up who is interested in the game to be accepted as there are so many students what sign up and you never see them or you contact them when they are on line and they don't even say HI.

The student gets a sign up bonus , The mentor should all so get a sign up bonus.

At the moment the time allowed to leave a good or bad rating is 72 hours , I think this should be removed and a time limit of 1 week should be applied , this allows students who can not come on line at the end of the program to still leave feedback when they do come on line.

In regards to only having 3 students at one time , I think this should be lifted to 5 students at any one time to allow for student what do not show , or have no interest in learning in the game.

HRF is expanding and new players are coming into the game every day from all around the world and is getting bigger every day and this will contuin into the short and long term future. I think that the amount of students a mentor can have should all so come into line with the growing numbers.

There comes a point if a mentor is only allowed to have 3 sign ups at one any one time there will be a short fall of available mentors to players wanting to sign up , in which may in turn this new player leaving the game and he/she could be the next sundown trainer.

I no when I first started playing the game. I started of just as a jockey and when I wanted to start to train horses there is a lot to learn a lot of info to learn (breeding , training , tournaments , and a lot of questions regarding theses topics and at first you don't really no what you are doing. In saying this I must say a big thank you to SLAVEDAVE , SUNDOWN , RACARDO , These trainers helped me when I had no idea , and they answered an questions I had and were more then willing to help out at any time. I would highly recommend these trainers as top mentors.

I think the mentor incentive program, as currently written, is quite well done. If followed and completed the program gives the student, the
mentor and the game great benifits. I will agree that a 'signing' bonus should be added for the mentor AND that if no response is given by
the student then it should be considered by the HRF staff as a 'positive' response ... it should not default to the negative IMHO. Anything
from RL could have prevented the student from being on long enough to give the positive response the mentor deserves.
