He did his work in Europe and was very very highly regarded. I believe he only ran 10 times and won 9. Almost unbeatable. I think his only lost came going 1 1/2 miles.
That's correct, ronwar. I just looked up his history in the Racing Post website. His only loss was the Vodafone Derby Stakes at 1 1/2 miles, where he finished 9th to Oath. Just as incredibly, he ran (and won) over every possible going, from Firm (Fast) to Heavy.
Soundofrum, I have question for you. Where did you get his Timeform ratings information? I checked their homepage, and they don't seem to list their top historical ratings.
Hi, Ken,
I'm always learning, so found myself curious about information regarding, Dubai Millienneum. I did a search and have the site marked down on a note pad by my upstairs desktop computer. I'll get it for you if you'd like.
Anyway, on Timeform.com, they have a list of the very best of all time since compiling Timeform ratings. There are a handful that have higher ratings than Dancing Brave (140) and Dubai Millennium (140) Here's the list.
Thanks for that info! I guess you have to register over at the Timeform site. I'll do that, as I see that they have a download section that's free for "registered members." Argh! Yet another site to create a user name and password for!
I agree, Ken. Is there no end to this user name/password foolishness. LOL
I was surprised at the conflict in ratings. Now I know a handful of horses received higher timeform ratings that Dancing Brave and Millenneum At any rate, a 140 rating is that of a very special horse. Don't quote me on this, but I think I saw Curlin rated at 134 and Big Brown rated at 133. I came across this somewhere on a site from, England. I could check this out.
Getting back to Dubai Millennium, his regular rider, Frankie Dettori, said that Dubai Millennium was the best horse that he ever rode, ending that statement with the words, " One of the best ". Dettori has said this about several of the good horses that he had the opportunity to ride. At any rate,, he's a great one. I think Jerry Baily was the rider of the winning horse on the day that he lost his only race. Going by my memory here.

His timeform rating of 140 was only equaled once by Dancing Brave. Got to love his breeding. Yes, he's a good one.
