I had a look , i slowed the race right down using f3 and on number 8... That is a dead heat in my book.

Work hard ,Play hard, Bet hard , Drink hard , or go home

very very very very close..... i slowed it down.. took video,, replayed at 10000-1 inch per second then developed the print of the freeze frame segments, blew it up, and just as i grabbed the magnifing glass my son opened the door to dark room... not doing it again!!!

Thanks guys! That is as close as I think I have seen. I have looked at others that have been close before, but I could always tell in one or the other of the angles. I did the same with this one, and slowed it all the way down. Looked at it in the replay race mode as well as photos mode. I couldn't tell...lol.

Cue the truck horns. lol. Very close finish. I put cosmetic noses on my horses to get that extra inch to win those close ones. Give it a try next time. lol

As per my analysis,he's got many tricks greater than this one.

Great, now my secrets are out in the open. Cosmetic nose jobs and lung transplants. The playing field is even now.

Most angles show a dead heat, but camera 9 shows the 1 horse with a nose in front. If you hadn't got blocked you win fairly easily.

Yeah, she would have won hands down, she usually does when I enter where she should be. BIG trainer error in her last tourney, I don't know what I was thinking....Oops.... She had a perfect record before the last tourney.

When I was watching the race..I thought Ape had won it...then my cousin who was next to me jumped and yelled "oooh"...
I looked at him and calmly stated: "oooh what".
He the proceeded to say that the Critter had won.
I watched it again and thought the same thing.
But then I figured I couldn't stand up for Paint cause I'm gonna get my booty spanked by that stable anyway so I decided to hush.

Between weight assignments,incalculable and unforeseen events taking place,the fact that I was born to lose to the extent that I predict I'll lose all my hair and teeth in the same year...I am self-reminded to take advantage of anything that may remotely look like one.

I would say that I would never spank your booty, but The Critter may have other ideas. She is a good one, and that is all I am going to say. I don't want to jinx her....

Edit: The Critter may get her tail spanked by Banded Iron, that is the horse that worries me. Expecially with all those lung transplants and nose jobs...rotflmao....

That race was very close. I slowed it down just before the end and it looked like both horses hit the wire together.

Naw....Racodo is too busy breedin and out of the zone...these days he's more into scientific formulae and thermodynamics/quantum physics to worry about racing...he's got his focus out of tune....we're both going to beat him badly.He'll have to retire after this one.

I thought it so ironic because I knew that Critter could have won that race except that the Critter was blocked in by none other than "Blockedin", it wasn't untill with just under .3 furlongs that your horse began to work its way out only to arrive as such a close finish. Tough luck, looks like the other horse only won by a lip it was sooooo close.

Now I know why the other horse is named Blockedin, it may not win many races but it sure can have an impact on the way the races it is in turn out.

Wow, Richard, I never looked at the horse's name that had The Critter blocked in after my Run Rio Run started the blocking process.... Boxed In, that is too much.... Hey jaycat too cute, he is living up to his name....lol.

That was a dead-heat, but since HRf doesn't allow dead-heats, someone has to win. Although looking at camera 9.........well..........remember what they say "the angle can fool you"

Yikes what a hair's breadth finish! You could barely separte the first two with a micrometer! The camera angles we see, like everything else in the program are only visualizations of the way the computer interprets the data for the race in the digital universe. Regardless of any appearances, there are never dead heats, because the program only allows for one winner for each race. I've had a few practice races where it was seemingly impossible to separate the first two finishers even using multiple camera angles, and it would probably be a bit more exciting if there were a possibility of dead heats, buit I imagine it would be a sort of logistical nightmare for the programmers. The first thing you know, people would be complaining about "too many dead heats" and cries of foul would be heard from some dissatisfied players in the community. Additionally, if there were dead heats for the win spot, would be dead heats for second, third, fourth and fifth places which would also occur and complicate matters that way as well. I'm willing to live with every race having a single winner, even if we lose some of the realism.

Thanks daaka.... It sure does depend on the angles. It was exciting either way, and I am happy with The Critter's finish.

bird- Yeah, it would be a total mess if dead heats were allowed in the game, and I have seen others close, but this one is about the closest that I have so far.

One strategy Flyingdaaka employs to help with the photo finishes, is prior to the race, wacking the horse across the mouth with a 2 X 4. Nothing personal, but if there is a close photo, Flyingdaaka's horse will have a tremendous advantage because his horses lips will have swollen up by the time the race finishes. Nothing better than watching your horse behind at the wire by a nose, but, getting the victory because the horses swollen kisser crossed the finish line first.
