I, too, had a similar experience a coulple days ago with my filly, FDG. I ran her in the slop at Aqueduct going 5.5f. She blew the rest of the horses away by 9 1/2 Lengths in 1:01.4 with a sr of 138. I didn't think it was possible and my eyes almost popped out of my head. That is the highest sr she has ever gotten running in a training race.

The way, I look at it, you folks talking about those good speed ratings speaks highly of your horses pontential. Knowing that slop ratings are inflated (don't ask me why) and making the generally accepted (rule of thumb) 20 point deduction to arrive at a final rating, a 147 minus 20 is still a 127 (Grade 1,2,3) rating. Not bad. Not bad at all. To the original poster, you'll do well with this one.
Good luck. Continued good luck to you too, Sharon.

nice run in training but my dream scouse has just done a 152 in tourny final and he is only 2 so maybe we will meet on track sometime should be some race
29 min 1 sec
Flyingdaaka is aware that sloppy SR's are inflated. Flyingdaaka's question is, are soft turf SR's "deflated". Either the SR for soft turf is lower than normal SR's or Flyingdaaka just plain has a stable full of slobs who can't run on soft turf. You people with these 150 SR's in the slop, geezazz, Flyingdaaka can't get anyone in his stable to run 140 SR in the slop.
1 hour 16 min
Slop inflated 25 points.
Soft turf inflated 10 points. Not an exact system but very close. Hope this helps.
29 min 1 sec
Excellent information Racado, very helpful. That makes Flyingdaaka's training performances on soft turf even worse than he originally thought !!!!!
53 min 55 sec
Haha, thats funny.

Although many have said that there is approx. a 20 point over inflation thing going on with sloppy dirt conditions, I have seen variences. 25 points seems very appropriate. A good average. About one year ago, I thought 30 points could be used.
At that time (a year ago) I thought that soft turf was about the same, but to be honest, I didn't watch that as close as sloppy dirt.
For now, I'll start excepting rocados 10 point difference and will start watching these races more closely.
25 weeks 1 day
I have a few soft turf horses, and a whole bunch of slop horses. Racado is right on in his figures with what I get also in training on slop and soft turf.
Now, a few of my slop horses that run 140's/150's SR's in training, will run those 140's/150's in tourneys. But only 4 or so out of maybe 15 slop loving horses. You can ask any of the members that have been here a while, when it comes to slop loving horses, I do know what it is all about. Seems that is all I get are slop lovers....lol.
As for soft turf, I have 2 horses that run around the same SR's and times in both training and tourneys. Hope this helps... :)

Depends on the horse though, LO averages 144 SR over 9F on dirt(fast) but averages around 183 SR on dirt(sloppy), that's almost a 40 SR increase.
I'm not very familar with slop runners other than LO but some seem to run more inflated SRs than other slop runners.
25 weeks 1 day
Your right Brian, some do run more inflated than others on slop. At least in my barn they do. I am not sure about others horses. They also do on soft turf, but not as big a spread, or as inflated as the slop SR's.

I think racado probably means on average. I know I probably stand alone and this is merely my personal opinion, but I look at these inflated sloppy speed ratings as being ludicrous. Takes too much time explaining whether or not your horse got the high rating on sloppy conditions, or in fast dirt conditions. Totally confusing to new members. IMO
Anyway you look at it, these high speed ratings, that are being mentioned, are extremely impressive and certainly points out a Champion caliber horse. I'd like the ratings to be more in line with Beyer type ratings. My Post is n ot meant to offend anyone. Like I said, it is just my personal opinion. Not the end of the world. LOL
17 hours 47 min
average given by racado is pretty spot on and Paint and Brian have added two further clues to the Puzzle.
Like Paint I seem to have developed a knack of breeding slop and soft turf runners, these making over 80%of the stable and have built up a pretty good training times tournament times Database....Lower base sr animals will tend to have below average inflated slop figures.....Higher base srs will tend to produce above average sr's on slop(using the plus25 formula) as per LO for example.....Another factor that will vary the sr is the horses E quotiant,,That is its unique courage and consistancy dosage combination...The final part of the equation is whether the horse will act and to what degree if at all on an off surface ....

wooooooooooow davo'd back... been quiet lately with all the horses in turnies.. BUT they not performing so i need cheering up... back here to forum for a week..lmao
I have 3 good horses that seem to love slop in practice and 1 donkey that won its restricted slop tourny.
Mt donkey... turned mustang,, sr96 ran consistant 125+ in the tourny. runs averae 128 in advance mode... over 8f, 9f.
my 121.2.. that radodo just belted in breaking the sorry smashing the race record.. grrrrrrr... she runs consistant 145 over 6f 8f slop...
My 2 others are 115 and 118 also average 145 in practice on slop...
So i feel mr racodo is very spot on with his average inflation but also lord brians comment is very correct to...
On a whole the 20 point inflation is a perfect ball park figure... many will run over this in practice but in tourny you will need to wait and test..
I feel any slop sr less then 125 in practice will strugle in any tournament... anything around 130-140 will have a good hope in cheap to mid range slop events and well if ya got a 140-150 be prepared to meet the monsters in the higher tournies BUT if no monsters enter you may snatch the cash...... It is worth the chance at higher points purse because even monsters can have can off day...
The funny thing for me in trianing is ,when i first started i tyed all surfaces in order but slop and mddy was always left till last....
Now i am finding sloppy i test around 3rd.... dirt fast...crap,,,,sand...crap...ok slop next hahahahahhaaa BINGOOOOOO..
But dont assume it is only a slop horse... it may do very well on slop however it may still do better on a good track...
My 118 i have found loves slop but also loves turf good...
Some trianers may get excited when they hit 140+ on slop then forget to keep trialing other surfaces to.....
glad to be back..

Sound--I wish we knew why the sr's were inflated when running on slop. So, if you take 20 points off of 138, you still get 128 which is a good sr. On another note, FDG isn't doing so hot in the Agabry Run (she has only placed in one race, 2nd). She has one more race to go. From what I can see, she might not like the firm turf. I don't get it because when I train her on firm turf, she does great. I also have her on lasix for this tourney.

I`m new to this training process and to this game and I have bred 19 horse`s and slowly understanding that this horse is a bad horse and that`s ok etc etc.
I saw that this person won the recent winner cup thing and chick on it and saw this post.
I then saw the times that the horse was running over the distance track and in the slop.
So I tryed a few of the horse`s in my stable over the distance , track and ground and raced as 2 years olds
The best time I could come up with was 54.77 on the slop over 5f
I`m not sure what the slr means but if it means speed then it`s 121.
The horse is a 2 year old , I all so raced the same horse over the distance same track and ground and the horse won all 11 and it raced against a mix of my horse`s and in game horse`s.
Is this horse an ok horse. Ive only been playing 3 days......
Regards

suncity, i believe you may have some nice hores, the race record or 5f slop is 55 seconds so you bettered that,,,, unfortunately you may have not been in grade 1 mode... this is best for practice as all finals are run at grade 1 difficulty... if you un in ungraded, allowance grade 3 ect the race difficulty is easier and hense the times , sr's will be faster.
To truely understand the horses you need to UNTICK all 6 boxes up top.. then set the race class to GRADE 1 $500,000, this is the hardest level and shows more acurate finish results compared to tournament racing......
did i read you have 19 horses in 3 days membership??? are you brianshaws little brother???

Yeah 19 horse`s in 3 days most of them are no good I think I have only got 3 good spinters and 1 good 1mile horse. The rest are not that good but they are all entered in upcoming tourmants so we will se how they go. Play hard or go home.
I ran 3 racers 5f 2yo slop at that track all so under grade 1 $500k conditions The horse won 2-out of 3 and a second all times were just under 55 and one just over... I all so ran the race against the same horse`s. here comes thunder , captial eyes , bull run , imadyougocrazy etc.
I entered my good spinter in a 2yo tour called (wet day) so we will se how the horse goes.

Run him against All Bidder, Far From Over, Heavy Fog, Aces Wild, Ava Runs Wild, Goosebumps, King TNT, and Burkes Law. That will give you a good indicator. Those horses are in file 1 females.

Will see you there buddy, i got 1 in the 'wet day also".... first time for him in the slop in a tourny so all learning for me to.. best of lck my friend.......
aussie aussie aussie...oi oi oi.............. and a oi for me....
looool...
Just a little test for you in practice...... many low sr horses.. say around 1oosr.. like slop and can do well in restricted slop tournaments.. just a thought rather then retirement...
My 96sr won first tourny over slop... final sr got up to 128.. thats very ordinary but won my a winners badge so im happy...

You can also run him against, Anastatius in the #6 female horse file. I find she also is hard to beat on slop at that distance.
LMAO @ Davo, Brian's little brother...lol... Gotta love that..... :)
Brianshaw breeds a lot of horses in a short time span, and Brian is one of the top trainers in the game. As well as racodo, and many others, any tips they give you are very helpful.

I guess 160 means the horse is the very best , I read up on the breeding starts at 60 and goes upto 160 am I correct in saying that.
I ran my horse against all horse`s in the early msg in the slop group 1 5f came 3rd by 2l got a bad check then ran the race again against the same horse`s and won the race with a 55.1 a tad slower then it`s best.
The horse is alot better at 6-7f then 5f

For the next hurdle, which date did you run races under? If not 8/1 or 11/1, you will get a false reading of horses ability.
10 weeks 1 day
I ran the horse all starts on 2/11.
Should I give the horse a run on those 2 dates and se what happens.
There was some thing I did wan`t to ask. Once you have bred a horse and you are given a number lets say 95 can a horse improve it`s speed over time or once the horse gets older. How does that work
1 hour 16 min
That number is there forever. It's not supposed to change. It is just an indicator of what speed rating your horse is capable of running. A horse can easily outrun those numbers because alot of other factors come into play. Courage, stamina, post position, class, etc.
25 weeks 1 day
Racodo you just scared 10 years off of me....lmao! Heap of Steal is scary fast...... He's got a final coming up soon doesn't he? With The River and The Doc?
suncity, that is the horse's initial speed rating, (SR). Your horse can run on either side of that number, depending on how place him in tourneys, what workout, and jockey instructions you give, and the time of season it is run. For 2yo's they only run tourneys on either of the two dates racodo gave you above. Where to find what time of season they run.... Go to the tourney, then click on the breeders cup final race. It gives you the time of season, track, distance, and surface. Run those exact things in advanced mode against the horses that racodo and I suggested. You will get a better idea of how your horse might do in that tourney.

I ran 2 of my horse`s 11/1 2yo 5f slop auquact against all the good horse`s named..... My second horse won both race and my good horse ran second in both. My second horse (clay shooting) has got a high speed 142 slr.
Just got to find a tourny to clay shooting now

suncity.. your horse "clay shooting" has a birth sr of 142 in the game??? or is that the sr from the race results??
initial sr of 142 is second best horse in the game
"Play Hard but Have fun doing it"

When I chick on list horse`s it has a birth speed of 142 and in game. If i look at results page just past odds the in race sr is 144 up to 149

When black cavia ran 54.7 he had sr on that race of 150 even

the important info for community is when you open game,,, click on view my horses... the sr beside your horses their is birth sr..... after you click the horse it becomes all race result sr....
IF birth sr is 142 you have 2nd best horse in the game.. trust me.

That`s correct. When I chick on access my game horse`s the list of horse`s in my stable comes up and all the speed numbers are next to there name. I all so have a 3rd horse what is mega fast on turf it`s born speed is 133.5 so fast on grass this one. For in a in race speed got up to 148.
So thesse 3 horse`s I have are ok ones.
I do have a lot of horses with born speed around 100 - 112.
