I found this part of the tips very very interesting and a possible reason many have problems getting the best from the horse.
Quote from hrf tips...
"Peak Age"
– Every horse in our game is programmed with a racing cycle. Inside that cycle, each horse peaks at a certain age. A horse’s peak age can be 3 months to 1.5 years, depending upon his parents and some random factors. During the peak age, this is where your horse will perform his best as long as he is sound. It’s easy to determine your horse’s peak age. Just set up the same racing conditions at various ages on your horse’s preferred racing surface. It takes some time, but it’s worth doing. """" end quote...
Now our horses come with peak ages around say 4 yrs.. mine was 4.6 for example... Now how do i apply this to the HRF years for tournament racing??
the program works on a 3month to 1.5yr peak age and our horses come with a realistic peak age around 4 yrs... time to do calculations to convert this to hrf years.. nice..
I THINK.MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Hey MO my head hurts now so dont pick on me if im wrong ok..

I never looked at it in this perspective. I keep entering my horses in races to get that tourney win and it is tourneys that I know my horses can compete in. I have looked at the training tips and read through them. I just wish I knew what some of these trainers are doing to get win after win. I have changed my instructions to see if that helps. I guess I just have to be patient. It will come in all due time.

it is very possible many members are actually placing their horses in the right place at the right time without even knowing it.... interesting for me was just how many factors we CANNOT control in tournaments.
this will answer everybodies question. "why my horse only run sr80?"
This game is just learn learn and then learn some more.... amazing.

Even I am still learning the game, or like you have said before, my horses are training me. I looked through all the ones in the stable page, they are very informative . That's one of the things I like so much about HRF. If I can't find it in the info in help sections, I just ask someone who has been here longer than I have. I always get an answer. Pretty cool....

I think the "peak age" thing just has to do with whether a tournament race is run in early season, mid season, or late season (the "race simulation date" that shows on the page where you enter a race). So if a horse's peak age is 3.9 it might do better in late season races when it's 3 years old
-edit: I didn't notice the "3 months to 1.5 years" thing, I have no idea what that means, but maybe it's just outdated since it also says something about the horses being "sound" and I've seen something else in an old help page saying that trainer horses can get injured (which they can't.. i think)

the "3 months to 1.5 years" thing is how long the horse can remain at peak age before it starts to deteriorate.
So, if peak age is 4.5 it can remain at peak until at least 4.75 maybe as long as 6.0.
