He might be 0/2 on synthetics but I don't think it is because he hates that surface. I think it is mainly because his first race of that tournament was (dare I say) a clunker. I think that he ran true to form in the second race and seemed to just get nipped at the line by a better horse that day. Mark My Words, Wells Fargo wins his next 3 and the tournament finale.

I agree, she loves the dirt. I don't think she hates synthetic, but definately not as good as she is on dirt. General You may be right, but she definately is not the dominate force on synthetic she is on dirt. I think Easy Silence, Sat Nav, Down The Middle, and Doctor Ruff all have a good chance of beating her in the final these are good proven horses, who love synthetics and my money will be on one of them to win this torunament. Will be fun to watch
Well, I think it's time to admit that Misty Images is done and will probably never win again. So............ I will be nice and take her for my barn lol

I just got done watching the replay of the race and Wells Fargo run a good race even though she got stuck on the rail towards the end. I can't believe she lost by a nose to Easy Silence. I bet the final will be good.
Great performances guys! Does anyone know of a horse that kept his form into 5 year old campaign? Looks like making it to be a decent 8 year old will be a challenge.
at 4.75 just before 5 and she seems to be showing a more desire and will to win than before (loves synthetic) so i hope she keeps it up going for her 5th tournament win.
after age 2 just seems as if all horses drop in their performance, the dominant 2yo's just turn into your average horses, i notice this mainly with the Dr Fagar's off springs.
The peak age will not make be much of a factor, i think its just a number thrown out there, many horses has hit their peak age and no big improvement and that will be same for all the horses who hit peak age, i also thought hitting peak age would make a difference but it will not..this is why i have always said that no horse will hit the breeding shed under this current system..i dont think the requirement is asking too much because the reward is really worth it......the problem is the inconsistency issues the game picking when and how often your horse throws a clunker, i really don't see the system being kind to any horse until they retire because it hasn't shown love to any horse because that is how HRF has made it.
I have been posting since the trainer game came out to let the horses run on their own merit but i am told over and over the same horses will keep winning, in real life the champs rarely gets beat because the trainers make sure of that, here as trainers we can do all we can 100% but that will not matter if the system decides your horse will throw clunkers for the next few races then it's out of your hands as a trainer and very UNFAIR, the thing that bothers me is that our horses could throw 2-3-4 clunkers in a row, its random so now i just run horses and stop worrying about my 140's throwing clunkers all over the place.
I have 1 that is 5 yo , she is actually better than she was at 2 through half of her 4 yo career. Her peak is supposed to be 5.2 years, and she does seem to be following that.
My super horse seems to be staying the same, he may be getting a tiny bit slower. He still wins every time out, but by shorter margins. He is going on 4 yo tourney after this next one.
On the other hand, the stallion I have that is 4 yo and supposed to peak at that age, is worse. Like others have said, he came out winning everything, a real super horse, then he turned 3 yo and comes in last a lot. The only reason I keep him is because he usually qualifies for his fianls, but with finishing last or close to it, he is about to be retired.
All this info os for training as well as toutrneys so far. Hope that helps you out, but I doubt it, since it is still 6 of one, half dozen of the other.
The initial SR really didn't matter for my super horse. Other people do have horses with huge initial SR's that are monster horses, mine is just a super horse. The initial SR might matter on the real monster horses like brianshaw's Lord Outstanding, ronwar's Doc Beauty, or craztphil's Run River Run, it just doesn't on my super horse.
My super horse has a lot courage and is very, very consistant. He also has the ability to rate himself in a race, with excellent break, and top speed. He was only a 120SR. I have horses with higher initial SR's, but none of them can beat my super horse in training. No courage, no consistancy in any of them.
I agree with Paint , the SR is only a part of it , courage and consistancy play i bigger part in this , I have yet to find a horse with an SR over 130 but i would not part with some of these for a 140 + rating horse .
-Craztphil-
Also , the trainer has to do his/her job correctly , boy have i made some real clunkers of mistakes , but at the end of the day i am still leaning and hoping not to make these mistake again , but it not easy and it all make for a great game .
-Craztphil-
When I ride my horses they run better than when I dont. but I not sure how to work out getting the same instructions in training as in tournaments. To many options in training etc. Any ideas?
one thing i never do is ride my own horse , i like to start by getting a guide from the performance report as a starting point , try to enter a tournament with a few prelims to enter , that way you can vary the instructions a little from race to race , keep a record of your instruction to make comparisons between one race and another , this can all be done via your stable page .once your horse has qualified you are free to give bigger changes to instructions or just carry on making small changes , at the the end of this if you have made the final , apply what you think are the best instructions . This is the way i do things and i am always open to other opinions .
-Craztphil-
The reason i dont ride my horse in training is that i cannot ride my horse in the tournaments , so I leave to our HRF profesional jockeys , lol
-Craztphil-
Congratulations, Easy Silence and, Brian. If the finals were next, then I have you as the favorite carrying top weight. I'm very impressed how this horse is running in this tournament. I agree with General about the clunker for, Wells Fargo. Just wasn't him that day. However, before coming down too hard on, Wells Fargo, one must keep in mind the fast fractions of that last race. :21 :43 1:07 and change. The final time for first 2 finishers was only 9/100 off the world record. There goes the energy.
I almost entered one of my horses in this tournament, but he doesn't train as well on Arlingtons synthetic as he does elsewhere.
I think Easy silence has peaked too soon. The win needed to be in the final. Easy is clearly not totally straight forward as was beaten itself when racing in the first race. Finished fourth to 3 horses who could run out of their skin to cause a major shock in the final. Sat Nav, Doctor ruff and down the middle could turn this into a classic tournament. I think they are all very good horses but Wells Fargo gets my bet for the final.
1) I agree about Wells Fargo. That first race was maybe her first 'clunker', the second one was every bit as good as any race she has run in a long time. Don't count her out.
2) I agree with Sundown about the Breeder's Shed. Under current conditions, no one is going to make it to the $6 million. In my opinion, even Wells Fargo and Lord Outstanding will slow down at some point. $6 million earnings is a huge figure when you don't get any $$$ for winning the final race. I predict for most super horses, it will end up in a sad, degrading type of situation where they are six years old, and keep getting sent out again and again to try to get the last few millions, and most of the time being beaten by younger horses.
3) The only time I ever ride my own horses is to see how well they hold their speed going around tight turns, and wide turns... to try to figure out which type of track they like.
LO will have the 6 million earned before the age of 5. She'll probably be retired after her last 4yo tournament and she'll qualify to be a dam in the game.
Below you will find the results of the Performance Report you ordered on the horse Wells Fargo. Just so you know, we had a vet, a top trainer, a jockey as well as a very good handicapper all contribute in the assessments to help determine the quality of this horse. With that said, it`s possible that the report may not be 100% accurate. All of our assessments were based on this horse`s pure training ability and this horse might perform differently under racing conditions. The bottom line is that the information below is probably very accurate - but, there is always a chance that our analysis team missed something. One thing for certain most horses will tend to show higher speed figures when training in game then in racing in tournaments most specially early on in their tournament racing career. Speed figures tend to get higher as this horse races in more tournaments at a older age as long as you are racing him in his most suitable racing conditions
Thanks for using our evaluation program.
Racing Stamina : This horse would probably prefer middle distances. That doesn`t mean he won`t be able to sprint at shorter distances, but his preferred racing distance is somewhere around a mile. Lasix might help this horse carry his speed all the way up to 1 3/16 miles. Experiment in these areas.
Hard Dirt Surface : This is horse`s preferred racing surface. This horse can handle this surface well. In fact, this horse loves to race on this surface. Expect his best performances to come from this surface.
Soft Dirt Surface : This is horse`s preferred racing surface. This horse can handle this surface well. In fact, this horse loves to race on this surface. Expect his best performances to come from this surface.
Turf Surface : This is horse`s preferred racing surface. This horse can handle this surface well. In fact, this horse loves to race on this surface. Expect his best performances to come from this surface.
Synthetic Surface : Not the best surface for this horse, but not the worst. This horse can handle this surface if other racing conditions are set up to his liking and the competition is on par with him.
Tournament Racing Consistency : This horse`s consistency level is okay. He`ll have more good races than bad. Watch the race conditions and the competition you put him against. If you race him over his head, you will hinder his consistency.
Peak age : This horse`s peak age is at 4.6 years old.
Jockey Instructions Rating : This horse is very independent and has his own natural way of going. Trying to override his natural racing ability with jockey instructions will probably not be effective and may hurt his chances during the race.
Break Speed From The Game :This horse has a good ability to break from the gate. This can help when jockeying for position early-on in a race. If this horse is a closer and likes to go longer distances, then good Break Speed doesn`t really help this horse. A horse that can break well and has good early speed can do well in sprint races.
Top Speed :This horse has excellent Top Speed. The question is, how far of a distance can he carry this Top Speed? Some horses with excellent Top Speed have problems with stamina and tire quickly. Horses with excellent Top Speed can be hindered by having poor Break Speed or poor Early Speed. If this horse has a good Early Speed rating as well as a good Break Speed rating as well as Top Speed, this is an indication of a very fast horse. The only issue that comes into question will then be his stamina and, of course, his consistency and courage.
Early Speed In Game :This horse has good Early Speed. This is an advantage if he is a sprinter. It can be a disadvantage if he likes to run a longer distance. Good Early Speed means he`ll use a little more energy early on in the race, but should be able to position himself better than most horses.
Courage : We feel this horse has courage and it`s better than most horses, but we can be wrong. You`ll have to find out for yourself when you run him in some actual tournament races. Get back to us, we want to know.
Tournament Recommended Workout Program Between Tournament Races : Although this horse is lazy, he`s also stubborn. You need to break up the training routine - sometimes light workouts and sometimes more aggressive. This will keep this horse on his toes.
This Performance Report is not an evaluation of this horse`s class. It is an evaluation of his individual traits. Racing this horse in your game privately and in tournaments will determine your horse`s overall class and just how good he really is.

I viewed his victory in one of the prelims of this tournament. I agree wiht your assessment. Sat Nav has litterally everything it takes to continue winning prelims as well as the final. He's absolutly awsome from off the pace. Tonights race will be interesting and exciting. I know this guy will be threatening late.
In my opinion there are 5 horses at least who could win this final race. Because every horse has ran a bad race already the final could be anybodies if the chips fall in the right place.
You're soooooooooooooo right. I agree 100%. Interestingly, I came very close to entering my best horse, Royal Danish in this tournament, but decided to skip because, for whatever reason, he didn't seem to train as well on Arlington Park's synthetic surface. He likes, Santa Anita and Hollywood Park synthetic surfaces though. I'm trying to find a tournament for him and think it should come soon. A few more weeks, or so it appears.
He's been resting after winning his last race, a big money final. He beat, Sat in that race, so would have been very competative in this tournament, in my opinion. He's training well for his return.
http://www.horseracegame.com/community/shared-race/206652
Down the Middle says if she can beat Fager, Man 'o War, Secretariat, Phar Lap, and Damascus in training, she can Clean up these chumps in the final. I guess the extra carrots and beer made her a little cocky. Shes been strutting around the paddock with her nose up all day. She says she ready!!
I think, in the final of this tourney, she might need to run at a faster pace in order to hold the lead against opposition who also like to lead.
That just plays into the closers hands - allowing them to win the race from further back in the field (no changing this to anything crude please!).
In this shared race she isn't really challenged for the lead so is able to save some energy.
I do like Down The Middle - looks a nice one - but not sure she can lead against the others here and have enough left to finish.
I'm still leaning toward Wells Fargo - but I guess it comes down to which one of any of them has the most stamina on the day!? And the weights and draw could turn everything upside down... it's just so close!
I'm looking forward to the final - even though I'm not even in the tourney!
She actually likes to stalk the pace at 8 furlongs she doesn't have to lead. Usually Fager will run that 1st 1/4 @ 21.3 and she stalks didn't feel like setting up another race (we really need a same horses button). Ideal fractions for her @ 8 furlongs are 22 and change and 45 and change. She runs that pretty consistently whether leading or stalking. The good thing is she is very consistent @ 8 furlongs at Arlington Park speed ratings from 131-139. She's not near as good at 7 or 7.5...needs to be 8 or she wants to sprint out. Thanks for your observations Ron.

Talk about perfect conditions!
If Down The Middle had run at any other pace Wells Fargo wins the race!
If Wells had started at a very slightly slower pace she wins.
If Doctor Ruff had been drawn inside Down The Middle then Wells would have held the inside line long enough to go on and win the race.
I reckon if you had tried to manually create the conditions where Easy Silence beats Wells Fargo in this race it would have taken you ages!

She's going to be running 129s when she could be running 140s+ there's a big difference. Best to stick to the horse's preferred surfaces.

Will not win this tournament!!!

There is only one horse in this tournament so far that has run faster than 129. And that is neither wells or easy, but Sat Nav. 129 Could be enough.

These tournaments are a bit out of my horses league. I haven't watched many other tournaments but this one has really caught my eye.

If DTM can repeat that SR then I agree.
OH and is he related to Mr ED?

She only talks when she's been drinking. Her and Budweiser Breath have some conversations that would make a grown man blush.

Good luck all - don't blow the pre-final workout!

I don't think there was any real concern. Nice win for, Wells Fargo. Congratulations to the trainer. The "ghost" trainer. LOL
