Hi folks,
A couple of months ago I sent in a suggestion that I thought might be very helpful to the trainers, now I would like to check to see if it might have been taken is under consideration. I dont know who I should have send this e-mail to and I can`t find the original e-mail I had sent.
My suggestion was to add a "same horses as last race" button to the set up screen when training. That way so you could just change the distances, ages and surfaces for the same field of horses without having to load each horse and set up the new race from scratch.
You could take a group of horses and run them through a bunch of races in a much shorter time that it takes at present. The original game from several years ago had that option.
Thanks,
Multiman

very good idea

I like that idea. Also a button for replaying a race with the same horses, surface, age, etc etc. When you're training your horses to see how consistent they are, you wanna run the race again and again and a button that could replay your last previous private mode race would save a lot of time.

Good idea. It was available several versions back but was removed for some reason. Would be great to have it back.

May they all come home safely!!!

That would be a great advantage - many times have had to reload all the settings to check on a horses abilities. Training in different seasons and distances - it would save enormous amounts of time.

These are all great ideas. I'd also like the "Horse File" listbox default to our trainer horses, so I don't have to watch the choose horses listbox fill with horses I'm not going to pick.

Multiman,
That is an outstanding suggestion! What a wonderful time saver it would be.
Puddles...is it possible to do it?

*passes the apple* - That would be wonderful. I got a new horse tonight and was starting him through the training paces and was thinking the same thing. That would save a ton of time.

Agree, it is a really good idea. I heard it used to be that way, hopefully it can be again.

I gave up spiky heels, long nails, and big hair a looooooooooooong time ago!
But I do admit, leaving off the boxing gloves helps with keystroke accuracy(:

This would be a great addition.
I have written a little VB script that drives the mouse for me and selects all of the conditions that I put in the script... but it is slow and can be unreliable since I cannot communicate with the client properly so it's hard to know when the race has finished! But it helps a little!
It gets the races started for me at least!
You're all welcome to a copy but it is very rough and ready - personalised to my own screen resolution and client window position on the screen. I kept meaning to make it more generic - but still haven't.
I wonder, since it's only the client, is there any sort of SDK so that we can personalise our client?
If there is an SDK or anything I would be happy to knock a few things up for different people/requirements.
It's possible (though I have not looked into it much) that the EXE file (hrace.exe perhaps) is called with the race details passed as parameters (either on the command line or in a file or maybe in the database) and the race animation, timings, speeds etc is built on-the-fly in the viewer.
If that is the case then all the client does is provides the user an interface to select all of the parameters. Creating a different client to just pass parameters should be easy enough.
But I have made a lot of assumptions in this post.
It's possible that the UI client does all of the calculations and just passes the animation data to the viewer? In this case I doubt providing an SDK or any details would be feasible - since we would have access to proprietary algorithms etc.
Let me know if I can do anything.
I'm not a lazy trainer - honestly!

I've been trying to decide which races in a tournament to enter. To help decide, I simulated all of them 10 times. Takes a long time to do! This would be a very welcome feature indeed.

Yeah you're not wrong. Boxing gloves DO make it a bit hard!
So does drinking 20 beers!!! LOL (not really.........try 82!! LOL)
That's why i use 4 straws when i'm drinking, i can't get a grip on glass with these claws of mine!
So you're an 80's chick huh?? The good ol' big hair and no clothes sense days!! It's come back into fashion , big hair , 3inches of make-up and shoulder pads. Oh hang on, that was just that girl i spoke to who looked lost, standing on the street corner the other night........ :))) oops! LOL
(only jokin' frosty, didn't mean YOU personally!) :)) Big hug! :P
