OK for some reason I am now into these dash's for cash. What is the fastest 2 furlong time you have gotten in a race?
So far my best time was 21 flat with Caller One with 112 lbs racing at Peak Age at Monmouth.
Conditions:
Any horse file fictional or real?
Minimum weight horse to carry 112.
Can jockey or watch
Just an FYI- PP's dont show results for some reasons just shows Final Finish as 0.

Hehe I may have to try this. Sounds like fun.
Got 21.13 with The Black at 112lbs against Flame. So far can't get any better than that.
My best was 21.3 with Having Fun (sp) at Calder on a fast dirt track. Had others run 21 and change, but so far, this was my best. Not sure what the weight carried was. I'll have to pay attention to that in the future.
Do any of you remember when Santa Anita used to have 3 furlong races in January each year ( fifties) for the new crop of 2 year olds??? The good ones ran in 32 and change and 33 and change. As I recall, these fast 2 year olds didn't do as well as 3 year olds. Personally I'm thinking it might be a good idea to talk about and consider abolishing 2 year old races in America. I think in England they run 2 year olds against older horses. I don't think this is good. JMHO
Calder used to have a race called the rocketman stakes at 2 furlongs. Caller One and Rain Song always dominated.
The Santa Anita dashes of 3 furlongs for the new crop of 2 year olds was a daily event and quickly sorted out the quality of all 2 year olds stabled at Santa Anita. It was always the first race of the day. I'm not sure if they had a long chute, or if they started off of the far turn.
i have only been hardcore follwing races for about 10 years now and I dont ever think I have seen a 3 furlong race....Those two furlong ones are now starting to get carded at monmouth early in the meet for 2 year olds. First time ever this year
Hi, David,
Glad you discovered the wonderful world of horse racing. It's been part of my life since the mid forties when World War 2 ended and my dad frequently took me and my siblings to Bay Meadows, Tanforan and Golden Gate Fields, all northern California 1 mile tracks.
It must be nice to own your own racehorses. Good luck there. Horse racing has brought me so much fun through so many years. My involvement is that of a spectator and experienced handicapper and better.
My closes ties with the real world of thoroughbred horse racing was communicating back and forth via snail mail, with Harry Aleo, " Lost In The Fog's " owner. It was a real loss to the racing world when he died this year. I attended his funeral and burial in San Bruno, California.
The stable is still intact and the horses are still trained by Greg Gilcrest. Before his death, I asked about and was told that his Grade 1 winner, Smokey Stover is resting on the farm, with leg problems and would probably never race again. His Victorino won recently at Bay Meadows when I was in attendance. His stable also consists of Stakes winner, Wild Promises . I have some beautiful pictures of him and Stover, that I took.
very cool stuff. Lots of great people and stories involved in this game, always interesting to hear. I was in Palo Alto last week and drove by Bay meadows on the way from the airport. To bad it is closing.
A grass roots organization called "Friends Of Bay Meadows", has a law suit against 5 city counsel members in the city of San Mateo for many wrong doings, including taking money from the developers, not allowing votes to count and not taking into account the historical value of Bay Meadows. Seabiscuit, Citation, Cigar and Lost In The Fog, all raced here, to name a few. Russel Baze broke L. Pincay's record for number of wins in America.
A long story, so won't get into it now. A court date was set for 10 October 2008, but a judge has given the attorneys more time and the date is now set for sometime in December 2008. California's Secretary Of State is behind this group and the suit has a chance of winning, according to him and Friends Of Bay Meadows folks. I'm still trying to help this group. Please do a search folks and type in Friends Of Bay Meadows to see if there's anything you could do. It's not over til the fat lady sings, although the track auctioned off almost everything that was located on the property, including the furlong posts. The stable has to be completely cleared by 15 October 2008. 700 jobs were lost.
