David(dedewhale) is a part-owner of this amazing colt who is undefeated 1-1 and is trying turf for the first time in the Continental Mile H. at Monmouth which is the sixth race on Saurday's Card. He is the 8th choice in this race out of 9 betting choices but I think this horse has a chance in this spot. He broke his maiden impressively and is bred for routes on Turf. Personally, I am not gonna bet him (or any other horse in this race, I just think it is way too unpredictable) but if you are looking for a value Beacon Beach is the horse for you.
Good Luck David,

Good luck dedewhale's,i will be watching.
I couldn't help but take a look at the race, with one of our own having a charge involved. I use thorograph sheets in my handicaping and here's my take.
Straight Man out of a Kissin Kris mare. I absolutely love Kissin Kris's on the turf and expect he'll handle it just fine. Not sure, but I seem to recall Straight Man being precocious and doing well early which bolds well here, but expect him to be a lot better at 3.
The first four horses are too slow in here. It looks like the 7 will not be as fast on the turf.
That leaves the 5, the 6 (Beacon Beach), the 8, the 9, and the 10. Lets toss the 10, although fastest coming is first time turf and parked outside. The 9, 340K yearling purchase, trained by Pletcher is the likely favorite will be heard from. The 8, a firster from the Mott barn and $180k purchase may be up against it first out. Lets toss him too. Lets see now, the 5 is in a new barn, that doesn't do that well with horses first time with the trainer (8%), lets toss him too, although I like the Lord at War dam on the bottom side. Now, the 6 I give a big shot here. Trainer is winning 33% last 90 days and 67% with Cotto in the irons (limited starts)
I would box the 6,9 hard in here and play the 6 across at 12-1 based particularly on Kissin Kris being on the bottom first time turf and him already being one of the fastest in the race.
I wish I owned a piece of that one.
Good Luck!

Updates....
Due to heavy rains last night they are off the turf today and will be on the main track. I expect a few scratches because of this. I am thinking the track will dry out a bit by race six...but not sure what its condition will be.
I am very excited for the race but no idea where we will finish somewhere between first and last. I think there is enough speed here for us to rate a bit. I like the distance for us....but a couple horses really scare me on the main track.
Well I am going to play with my dog for a couple hours to hopefully take my mind off of the race and I will check in later.
I'll do my best to tune into the race in between my Olympic viewing today. Good Luck
Ouch! That changes things quite a bit. The best of luck!
The sire profile looks great on TG for synthetics surfaces by the way. With the Breeders Cups on synthetics the next two years, you never know...

May they all come home safely!!!
Thanks for the info. The added information may make a difference in my betting choice. I like to throw in a high odds horse on an exacta or trifecta.
Good Luck Dedewhale!!
man that was tough, he was in perfect position and then around the turn had nothing, guessing a breathing issue (getting scoped).
That's too bad, David. Does fifth place get a little bit of the pot at Monmouth? Hope the horse comes out looking OK after the scope.

not much $600 plus our 30% purse enhancement of being a j-bred. So $780 or 10 days of training.
