Since there's not much activity in this section of the board, I figured I'd ask about everyone's favorites for the Sword Dancer and the Alabama this weekend. =) Now that Red Rocks has been scratched, I'm even more excited about Better Talk Now's chances, although if he doesn't get there in time I think Grand Courtorier has a good shot at it as well. As for the fillies, Music Note is my pick, with stablemate Little Belle running second. Of course, my picks are more half who I think will win and who I want to win. And there's a big difference between them. It would have been exciting to see Music Note in the Travers, too, but I can see where the owners would rather face a smaller field. Proud Spell does have a shot at it, but I realistically don't think that she can outrun Music Note. That filly could end up being something special. So, what are your views on the races?

have not handicapped those races yet, just stuck on the Saturday Monmouth card. .
My saratoga wagering may depend on the file we get as VIP members and what the race shows us. It has helped me a lot in the past
I say that the 7-Dancing Forever will win with the scratch of Red Rocks. He has already won a GI, GII, and was beaten only a neck by the highly touted Einstein in the GPTurf. He is bred to go the 1 1/2 distance (Sire:Rahy) and has a record 0f 6-3-3-0 in his last six starts and the 3 wins are in his last 4. I hate Better Talk Now in this one he hasn't finished in the top 2 in any of his last 6 races going back to his 2007 Manhatten Win. There won't be any pace in this one either with Precious Passion the only horse that likes to be on the lead, and will get away with slow fractions.
Music Note is just tooo good for this field. I think she is this year's Rags To Riches. She won't even be challengened in this one. I say she wins by 6 lengths with the up-and-coming Skylighter coming in 2nd with Little Belle 3rd and Proud Spell 4th.
I think Grand Couturier defends his title, 3rd race on the comeback trial.
Proud Spell turns the tables in the Alabama. Music Note regresses a tad after huge effort in last.

May they all come home safely!!!
Love this horse and should get good odds as I think Music Note will get most of the play and rightly so I might add. Proud Spell is full of heart and I'm hoping a good trip will bring her home.
I believe Proud Spell has a better chance having been in a tough psot the last race and hanging in for second. One of the pros has a theory that two back to back races with the same horses 1&2 in the last race, will result in the finishers changing places. For betting purposes, the race is not one I will play.
The Alabama is a good betting race and a good variety of entrants. Red Rocks' scratch helped the betting prospects. I like Dancing Forever for several reasons, but as turf races go, if the lack of speed early is actually the case, there are two or three other good plays including Better Talk Now for his late speed in the last race and he is my sentimental favorite. I also believe Champs Elysees may be in the money with the first three separated by less than two lenghts if not one.
They are saying now that Champs Elysees has scratched, too, for the Sword Dancer.
I LOOKED LAST NIGHT AT THE RACES AND HAVE NOT CHECKED ON TODAY'S SCRATCHES YET.
Those were two awesome races. I was really proud of old Better Talk Now. He finished well, just wasn't quite good enough to get the win. And the Alabama was amazing as well. Both of those fillies(Proud Spell and Music Note) were so game, and I think Music Note may've actually been able to get it if the race had been a few strides longer - she was slowly coming back, but that's not to take the win away from Proud Spell. She ran her heart out and did wonderfully. I can't wait to see the next time these two meet - I think Music Note probably regressed a bit off of her last start, hopefully she'll get herself back in gear and these two will be able to face off again. :D
