My Haskell

Well I decided to run a sim Haskell based on the probables and the horses in the 2008 file.

DEDEWHALE's Haskell 1/8th Fast Monmouth Track (gave everyone 119lbs)
1 Harlem Rocker 2:1
2 Cool Coal Man 7:1
3 Atoned 19:1
4 Big Brown 3:5
5 Big Truck 9:1
6 Hey Byrn 30:1

Scatched (not in the 2008 file)
Nistle's Crunch
Truth Rules

Results
Final Time: 1.45.88 (speed rating 124)
1. Big Brown
2. Harlem Rocker -2L
3. Hey Byrn -1.5L
4.Big Truck -4.5L
5.Cool Coal Man -1.5
6. Atoned -1L

Fractions 23.2 - 46.3 - 1.10.2 - 1.33.00

WOW super fast race....Big Brown went wire to wire and Harlem Rocker made huge move at the 3/4 mark tell pull with in one length of big brown but could not get by this monster in the race.

Haskell

Big Brown is back to his original training regimen. He was on a different regimen following the preakness which obviously was a big mistake. That being said... Big Brown will destroy the Haskell field and I am just hoping the owners will run him in the Pennsylvania Derby instead of the Travers. Same purse, but BB will have an extra week to recover, but if his win is super easy then I would say, Go Travers!

I am not sure the PA derby

I am not sure the PA derby makes sense (i know you are from PA but sorry). But if they win this they have concurred the 3 year old division at a 1 1.8 miles. Why another race except if it was only for a check. I think the traverse is 2 million and PA derby only 1 million. (grade 1 races look better then grade 2 or 3's)

But the traverse is at the classic distance which I think they would rather try again to make sure he can handle it....or even better wait for a race against older horses or a synthetic race to better help them prep for the BC.

I would go Woodard Stakes

I would stay at Saratoga and goat the connections of Curlin of challenging you on dirt. Probably the last time they would be able to get together on dirt. Perfect distance for both (1 1/8). The timing is right for both. It gives Big Brown an extra week and Curlin has time to play on the turf afterwards if they want. Otherwise, I think they will never face each other as I do not think the connections want to run on the synthetics for the Classic

May they all come home safely!!!

I've got a good feeling

I've got a good feeling about Big Truck. His workout times have been 2nd to none for a solid month now.
