Not sure how I feel about this:
Pro's
1. Chance to see a great horse close up
2. Could be very interesting to see how she handles some tough boyz
3. Huge crowd will be at Monmouth
4. Track should lend nicely to running style
Con's
1. Should scare away a bunch of contenders making for a shorter field
2. Makes betting this race not sure interesting if only 5 horses
3. My favorite horse "big Drama' will go elsewhere.

I like the pros and cons to this race. I think that some of the competition will give Rachel a run for her money. I know Hold Me Back is in this one and lets see how he does compared to the Derby. I don't think he handled the sloppy track all that good. I know I will be watching it to see how the filly fairs against the boys again.

It should be an awesome race to watch. While I really like Rachel, I still am holding a grudge over her breaking Ruffian's record, lol.

Ahh Big Drama Dede I loved this horse in the preakness I knew Id get a great price 5 or 6-1 I think and he came off a win plus had a good enough post so he wouldn't be pulled wide. All he had to do is let Rachel Run and not get close. I didn't straight up bet him to win I played an tri and exacta, Rachel, Big Drama, and Mine that Bird I boxed that in and in my exacta I keyed it Rachel over Big Drama and Mine that Bird. Big Drama flipped in the gate and lost energy and momentum and I knew I was in trouble. Too bad though he ran fourth what makes me wonder what would have happened had he not acted up in the gate. Oh well theres always 2010 right?

I'm Not sure actually how many she'll scare off, there were 13 in the Preakness when she ran against males, so I think it's only when she runs against the over-matched fillies is when she scares off fields.
Munnings, winner of the G2 Tom Fool against older horses and the G2 Woody Stephens at Belmont might run even though Rachel is running and Todd Pletcher said that her presence wouldn't affect his decision.
G2-Arkansas Derby winner Papa Clem is a go, G1-Belmont Stakes winner Summer Bird is a go, and you still got Atomic Rain and West Side Bernie (both derby runners), it's too bad that Musket Man (Derby and Preakness third-place) got hurt, cause he would've gone to Monmouth as well.
So still a good field and you'll get great prices on Papa Clem, Munnings and Summer Bird, about 5-1 on each.

general--you're about that. Rachel only scares off other fillies. She faced in the Mother Goose. It should be a good race.

I went to the Haskell that day to see Rachel. Of course the rainy morning had been terrible. But we fought through it and got there eventually. The race before Rachel's we stayed in the Paddock so we could get on the rail to see her. She won impressively. When we saw her in the paddock, her eyes looked like fire. She's an awesome filly. I love her so much. I met Calvin Borel and got his signature too. It was a fun day, very crowded, but it was completely worth it. I was there the year before to see Big Brown as well. Monmouth Park is a very cool track, if you ever get the chance to go, I'd jump on it!
