I'm trying to find my horse's strengths and weaknesses. Now I'm running every race at 5 furlongs for this specific horse (because he gives me the highest speed ratings at that distance, lower speed ratings at higher distances) over all 3 surfaces (dirt, turf and synthetic) over all kinds of track conditions.
Here is where my question is: I found out that one of my horses gives me ridiculous speed ratings on "muddy tracks" only, and average to poor ratings on anything else other than "muddy tracks." He was giving me 120+ speed ratings over muddy tracks at 5 furlongs everytime so I was thinking "Hey I got a real contender here for races that have muddy surfaces." But then I realized that if this horse was giving me 120+ ratings everytime on muddy tracks over 5 furlongs, he must be able to destroy his Sire 'Big Brown' over these conditions. Turns out whenever I race my trainer horse vs. Big Brown on mudddy surfaces over 5 furlongs, Big Brown wins them with speed ratings of only "high 80s."
What happened to my trainer horse running 120+ figures? Turns out he only runs 120+ figures when I run him by himself... Is he a 'coward' of a horse that doesn't like running against competition? Or is this a flaw in the game?
Thank you in advance.

Seriously your horse doesn't appear to be anything but a dog. But before you vet vist or retire the horse.
Set up 7F dirt - sloppy with male community horse Montefioino rec code 0.4 and your horse.
Then set up 8f turf - soft with community male horse Didntraisenofool rec code 0.4 and your horse.
Tell me how close your horse get to them.

He ran 151 and beat my horse by 5 and half, 150 turf and 3 1/4

Yeah, my trainer horse got destroyed by 20+ lengths each time. Apparently he only runs great on muddy tracks "by himself."
At least I got 3 other horses that are absolute monsters on soft turf surfaces. =]

remember that speed figures are adjusted based on the conditions. In this game sloppy conditions are greatly exaggerated and I disregard them altogether. Do not base your speed figures off a sloppy course, they will always be much higher. If you find you horse winning by bigger margins on a sloppy track then maybe you have a horse that runs best in the slop in comparison to other horses.
