Maybe u just dont pick the best horse and if u do pick the best horse then u just dont run it in the best way.

I have over 5,000 races and I agree with jeter.
The "best " horse does not always win.
I have won on 40-1 horses and lost on 4-5 horses so if the best horse always won there would be no high pp's posted.
And dont tell me a 40-1 was the best horse

We watch everything. We check out any tournament where the score(PPS) is over 350. If anyone knows of a way to cheat then we would reward you 300,000 community points for provideing that info(The info must be accurate) .It's better to get 300,000 points then to have all your points taken away ,right? Just send that info to me threw PM and I will look it over . We will not tolerate foul play here. If we find any one cheating we will take all their points away and also all points of the other players cheating as well . I have a person in our office who goes threw each tournament result line by line . Right now we know why some players are doing better then others but it is not cheating by no means at all. We are adding new controls to monitor game play in 2-3 weeks this will catch any issues (if there are any) for sure .

I find it hard to believe that someone can achieve 60% winners.
Add all of the hindrances to winning.
1 & 2. Been a victim of this myself, so I agree.
3. Race tactics and horses in a particular race can have an effect on how the burst of speed looks. If it's a very quick pace with a field of front/near pace runners and they don't have the stamina and fall away, then the closers look like superman going past you.
4 & 5. This is the courage factor. That horse put under the whip has a real desire not to be beaten, and no matter how tired they are, they'll try to find something to get them that extra yard/furlong/half mile. Marathon runners often describe hitting the pain barrier and it's a real test of character to push through it and keep going.

I used to think this also, but figured out that it's me doing several things wrong.

Jeter - I've noticed that you've only completed 366 races, so, you should consider yourself still an inexperienced jockey with regards to this game. The more you play, the more you'll learn and you'll start to remember names of horses who demonstrate good courage and ability, surfaces that they start to run best at, and so on. Take your time and you'll get there. I've played over 1000 races. Many of those I spoiled through learning and making mistakes. I'm now starting to get a very good feel for the game and my PPS is climbing with each tourney, but, I still have a bad one here and there.

can i have the 300,000 points if i promise to report cheaters if i come across any? just consider it a down payment.

Not to start anything...but I know if I wanted to I can do much better than 60% win percentage.

I think I (and many others) can do more than 80% (without any cheating!!) if I'd choose just to ride low odds horses..

60% is definately achievable once you can analyse the form and become familiar to horse attributes. Let's remember that a favourite is not the best horse all the time, whether in the game or in real life.
I see races that have horses over 30/1 that are genuine 2 or 3/1 chances.

In the instance that you were to ride 10 races on every favourite, I however do agree that it would be hard to consistantly achieve a winning ratio >60%. The trick of the game is to know who to ride, pending on your style of a jockey.

You may or may not agree with my comments, but the only way i can make a practical example is to provide a dummy race and ask you "who you would ride?". Once you answer the question to yourself open up your game in advanced mode and set up the exact race. Now, how did you fair?

Heres the race example i set up. To me the best ride is very obvious. This ride is not the favourite.

12 Furlongs @ Fairplex, Grade 3, 3yo's F & M, Track Fast, Scale Weights.

Sure Bet 16/1
Chief 5/2
Second Effort 10/1
Watch My Dust 39/1
Sky Range 40/1
White Chocolate 7/2
Far Conductor 8/1
Chilly Club 6/1
Darveuxs Fantasy 13/1
Gold Hope 20/1

Set this race up in advanced mode and ride the horse you chose. (Race Odds will differ pending your games full history)

Now if you are a good jockey you would have chosen Sure Bet at very generous odds. If i set this race up I could ride the same horse to win at least 8 times out of 10. Is this a fluke??? I dont think so.

Knowledge is power. If you cant achive 60% of winners, you need to practice more.

To all the critics try setting up the race and trying it!! If u cant get Sure Bet to win you need to learn how to pace a horse according to its attributes. Sure Bet likes it "Far Back", and you must be patient at the rear of the field and let him accellerate at the 2.0 Furlong mark.

How about I just say I'm cheating and you give me the 300,000 points. My win % is nowhere near 60% but I'll say I'm cheating just to get those points;-) Sure Bet is a nice mount; I don't like to ride or bet against him.

LOL - Nice idea but slight flaw in your logic. You could lose the points and get booted for cheating.

i run this set up 20 times and i got 20 out of 20 perfect run from sure bet.... i agree with u that knowing the right horse in a particular race helps a lot there's a 50:1 odds in a certain race but infact he could be a 5:2 odds just right timing and right jockeying winning 60 percent of your race is not that impossible to achieve u can even do much higher winning percentage

20/20, wow thats impressive Syrinx. Thats why experienced jockeys out perform the apprentice jockeys. I Wonder how you would have performed riding the favourite??? Not as good, i guarantee....

Lele77, if i changed the distance to 7.0 Furlongs, Watch My Dust would probably be the best ride. Hes a bit erratic at times though.......and That's cheating!!

JeterMVP, better get back to the training tracks for trackwork riding. Sounds like you will improve after about 1000 races. Your opinion may also change then.

I just ran in a jockey tourney (and for the record I had a couple awful trips and didn't run well so I was waaaay down in the rankins) where the winner earned 999 pps. This was a tourney where the max average pps was 280. Seems crazy, especially since the second placed player earned 282.
It's only my third tourney so maybe this happens alot? I guess that's a lot of good luck.
On another note, I bet 60% win rating would be easy enough if you didn't ever go for a longshot to get some big points. Well...maybe not easy. But doable.

I know Puddles will investigate, and tell us that it is not done by cheating, but just very lucky draws an very good rides!

60 % is not a big number to one that is trying to make sure they when I have gone in a most win tourny and been 10 out of 10 so I am sure someone has gone 20 of 25.

Jockey scores are correct the issue is the way we figure the players PPS . We are going to update the program in a few days to further seperate the top players from the 2ed level and 3rd level this will help a ton

What was it exactly that made you pick Sure bet? In my database she had more 100+ speed ratings, but endurance was also listed as Fair and all the others were Good. Granted, Sure Bet only had like 10 races in my database. And none at 12f.

With the 60% topic..

I noticed both the players saying that weren't VIP. So you might not know, VIP's get a horse lookup feature on the site.
Where you can look up all the horses past performances. (not just the ones that have run on your computer)

Being a VIP and being able to look up PP's of horses does make a big difference.
So does riding a lot, the more you ride, the more experience you get, but also the more horse history you build up on your computer.

60% doesn't seem too high to me.

mrmojok about sure bet, just ride it mate. Its a great horse, and it is a sure bet. :)
