I think there should be a minimum of 8 entries per race for any race (G1, G2, G3, UG) and a maximum of 8 for Ungraded, 10 for G3, 14 for G2, and 16 for G1. I don't think that the pool horses should fill all 16 spots in a G1 race, but If there were only 4 entered than I think that some more pool horses should be entered. If a field is under 8 than the pool horses should fill the field.
Yeah i agree...It should be paid entries only since we have to put up the points and they run for free just to block us down the lane :P If only two people show up for the race then so be it right? Atleast then we can run our nags and maybe get them into the final and have a shot at something. I cant really complain though, so far the trainer game has been a blast :D
ya i think you are right 8horses is enough for a race i dont know about anyone else but it is hard enough to win in jockey mode even if you are on the fancied ones
If it says 10 to 14 horses in the condition that how many horses need to be in there. Lowering the number based on entries would be like changing the surface from dirt to turf. In my opinion, I think people don't care about the pool horses as long as they don't win or come in the money. But as everything we are still learning an our new tournaments may have a broader range on needed to max entry's per race. :>
I think you mis-understand my point 99. I'm not suggesting that we lower the number, I'm just saying that we shouldn't use pool horse to fill in the empty spaces.
i also do not like pool horses. in one tourn there are 11 pool horses and 3 bred in all races. also want smaller fields at 8- 10 per race since huge fields are crazy in this game.
they can use pool horses but they must not win in the race coz its bad to see that our horeses is beaten by pool horses it deacreses our faith in our horse it is our game we must win the race not the the pealer horse
Agree totally, of course this would mean tourny payouts would be based on how many sign up to run in them, just like the jockey tourny's. But I think its just the correct way to go about it. And maybe if a set number of minimum entries aren't made, then it would have to cancel, just like all the other tourny's.
What's a pool horse? Do you mean community horses? I have two of my seven horses entered in a tournament ( actually, two different tournaments ) towards the end of May, but so far, I haven't been involved with tournaments, so don't want to voice my opinion at this time. I see everyone's concerns though.
If this continues to be allowed, I don't think it would be a good idea to keep them from getting in the money. Wouldn't that be considered a fixed race.
Again, I don't know enough about the tournaments to voice a yes, or no. I'll consider this when the time is right for me. I only chimed in because I don't believe that I've ever heard community horses refeered to as pool horses. I'm thinking they must be one and the same.
I 100% agree there SHOULD be pool horses if not enough people sign up for the race. If your horse can't hang with a G1 horse it should not be entered in a G1 race. It's really that simple. You want to win big money?? You have to earn it. You should also note that many players did not sign up for the G1 fearing the competition. I myself knew that was the case and got my horses to the big show by running them in the right races. This is what the trainer game is about. Throughout the season in real horse racing there are tournaments with horses in races not expecting to do anything but win that particular race. For example....the run for the roses(kentucky derby), plenty of horses racing in the graded stakes never meant for the derby. If you horse isn't G1 stay out of the G1's. And programmers...please don't change a thing.
not fair if 2 different races where one has 7 of 8 places filled, and the other has only 2 of 8 filled and you say the pool horses cant come in the money, the reason is because then the only 2 entries will get an unfair advantage because it is the $$$ from the place they come in that decides whether they should be in the final and we can't see how many are signed up for a particular race until it is too late to enter it..
So, while I dont really like the idea of pool horses overall, its the only fair way when one race has 10 horses all with trainers, and the other has 10 horses with 5 pool horses.. Unless we are going to be allowed to see how many horses have signed up for each race, the pool horses need to stay..
