The Jockey Game - What Do You Want to Know?

I am working on an extensive write up on how to play this game. I want to make sure that all of you know how indepth the Jockey Game truly is. When we decide where to place this ongoing "story" I will post an announcement.

I would like to know what areas of the game you have played so far and what you think about them. I also would like to know about any areas that you are unsure about so I can hopefully clarify them for you. So don't hesitate to ask me anything.

Yeah, my question is why are

Yeah, my question is why are there so many more UK and Auzzie races than there are US races? There are like 3 times as many UK and Auzzie races than there are US races. The races that are on the US tracks look great, but I was just shocked to see so many more international races than our own.

Is there a way to turn off

Is there a way to turn off the big sign that takes up almost half the screen in the replays? On some camera angles you can't see the front runners at all.

No you can not turn it off

No you can not turn it off at this time. The problem is known by the developers and will be handled soon.

When are we going to start

When are we going to start getting the legendary horses? I want to ride them in my own races. Will their abilities be the same as they were in real life?

welcome to the community

welcome to the community moneyjoe. I highly recommend that you read the "Game and Community" info link on the left hand side of the screen it will talk about specifics on how to run a race, earn points and enter tourneys.

But the quick and dirty answer to enter a tournament is go to the Tournament Schedule on the right hand side of the screen (looks like a calander). At select a day coming up. All the open tourney are listed. Click on each tourney to read the requirments for entry. I see you have under 250 races...so you can enter the next tournament for jockeys who have run less then 250 races. Unfortuantely you missed the one for this weekend. But there are plenty of other tourneys you qualify for, some begin tomorrow. Scroll through find the one the fits you and select the "register" button.

Let me know if this helps? If not well try again :)

tips on riding mid to back of pack?

I am just learning to jockey and often find myself way out of it if I pick a horse who runs mid to back of the pack. Even if it's a runoff favorite, I get boxed in or overrun or out of gas trying to catchup or break out. If I run inside and cut the rail, I find I can't penetrate the pack of horses in front or on my flank. If I run outside, I end up getting bumped still further out and spend all my energy just trying to stay in it, after losing ground on the turns. I'm always losing position and energy running up on horses in front, once I try to make my move. It's been frustrating. Any tips? Thanks!

Horse racing jockey tips

It is not easy to win but with that said there are plenty of jockey's in the game winning a lot.
1) do not rush your moves in the game (its not nascar)
2) start off and build races in privite mode with 4-5 horses so you can race with less traffic issues
3) start with racing front runners or stalkers. They are the best way to learn
4) From the game on the (field of horses page ) click help and scroll down to you see a big section on jockey tips (read them )

This in itself will help you a ton but the best way to learn is to practise .
Just like real horse racing you need time to develop your game skills before your jockey skills may come through .
good luck racing

Hi and Welcome

Hi and Welcome. This is the way I learned if it helps you any. I was getting traped alot too. So started to ride stalkers and far back runners. That is how I slowly started to learn how to manuever and place my horses in postion to pass other horses. Once I learned that I was able to better postion myself for and pace my self for other types of horse traits. Hope this helps you.

horsey I am not sure I have

horsey I am not sure I have that problem...I can win with front runners a lot. It all comes down to pace of the race. Some horses have front running style but get out of the gate like Molasses....it is reading your Pp's and knowing the horses. If I have a speed horse who can make the lead....I quite often milk my energy on the lead and leave enough for a big kick at the end.

I have found that sometimes if there is other speed....by conserving speed right at the end 3 furlong make and less I will be passed but only be a length behind. they have burnt there energy and I have enough to take the lead in the final furlong.
