Big Brown Delivers Big
For the first time since Smarty Jones in 2004, we've got a Triple Crown contenda'! Big Brown absolutely overwhelmed his eleven opponents in this past weekend's Preakness:
It wasn't a very good field, but the way that Big Brown won was a thing of beauty. Kent Desormeaux bided his time for the first part of the race, moved his mount to the outside on the backstretch, and then simply exploded away from the field under mild urging on the far turn. Desormeaux did a great job of keeping him under wraps after he delivered the devastating move to pull ahead in the stretch.
So now in five career races, Big Brown is undefeated with a combined victory margin of 40 lengths. Simply put, this is far and away the most talented 3yo I have ever witnessed on the Triple Crown Trail. Keep in mind that I really started following the sport in 2001, so that's only eight years, but still...this horse is an absolute freak. Enormous stride, jet-engine acceleration, and tractability.
If he can conquer all foes in the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 7 at Belmont Park, Big Brown will become the first Triple Crown winner since Affirrmed in 1978. To put that into perspective, I was born in 1979.

Big brown has little comp
I am not trying to take anything away from him..great horse ,amazing ..he won the Preakness effortless..But there was absolutely no and i mean no class in the race...And as for the derby he couldnt as for a better trip ,had eight belles may she rest in peace have had not gotten blocked in maybe a closer race ..and kudos to her the only horse that even attempted to challenge ,the derby ,the preakness,he is unstoppable so far ..and that is what is so good about it , can casino drive be the next empire maker(not exactly i know but you get the point ) so many years in a row they were close is this the year , well if it gets rough for brown i m not to sure he isnt tested....good luck to him it would a nice sight

Let's not forget Denis of Cork. He ran a really good Derby and now gets five weeks off to rest for the Belmont. He could spring an upset as the forgotten horse.

Big brown will make it and he will do it!!!!! Its been 30 years and i am so excited to see history in the works. This is what makes horse racing so great .

.Dutrow is getting way to much credit what has he actually done ..for all of you who dont know the owners bought big brown after he won his maiden race in saratoga ..and why would nt they the horse never raced before destroyed his competition by 12 lengths and was hand ridden to victory by jeromy rose (an ok jockey compared to k.desmoreaux). he ran a mile and 1/16 in 1:40 and he wasnt asked for that much he just ran...since getting the horse and putting Dutrow in charge brown has actually run a little slower 1:35 in a mile race ,and once again he ran a mile in 1:35 in the stakes at gp..1 sec slower than he did his maiden race ..thats not improving...in horse racing a second difference is an eternity....IF anyone should be getting credit it should be ..the breeder (monticule),or the previous trainer patrick reynolds....please someone at espn expose this ...nothing that is dutrow..he is just taking the horse out and making him worse ...winstrol!!! " i dont know what else it does besides help him get into his feed and make his coat shine more" or something like that is what he said..lol are there any real horse fans out there....please help get the word out on this f o s trainer.......go big brown ...to bad your connectins suck......
