Sunday Unbridled Belle and Hystericalady will meet as the two top race horse contenders in The $1 million Delaware Handicap, the premiere race of the Delaware Park season.This is also a Breeders Cup Challenge race making this horse racing event that much more important.
For the first time, the 71st Delaware Handicap is also a Win and You're In Breeders' Cup Challenge race, with the winner guaranteed a spot in the BC Ladies' Classic (formerly Distaff) at Santa Anita on Oct. 24.

The Grade 2, 1 1/4-mile Del Cap for fillies and mares highlights a 12-racing card that includes 3 other stakes, including the Grade 3, $300,000 Barbaro for 3-year-olds (boy I miss the Great race horse).

Unbridled Belle will try to become the first race horse in nearly 2 decades to win back-to-back running of the Delaware Handicap(not a easy task for any top race horse). The California shipper Hystericalady(who I thing as a good shot to win this horse race) is out to make amends for flopping as a heavy favorite in the Delaware Oaks several years ago. Her trainer one of the best in horse racing Todd Pletcher had this to say about his champion race mare"
She was very good last year. She seems like she's come back just as well or even better this year.''

Hystericalady, based in California and trained by top race horse trainer Jerry Hollendorfer had this to say about his top horse racing mare "When you ship, there is always a concern because lots of things could happen. But she ships well and she has done this before many times, so I am not really worried about that. She has never been a mile and a quarter, so you never know, but I am confident she can get the distance."

This is by no means a 2 horse race . There are other race horses that merit a close look for sure. I will be watching this horse race very closely .
