Today we launched a new program - a partnership with MID Development. The program is designed to help key horse racing executives at MID (the owners of Santa Anita Racetrack and Gulfstream Park) to hear from horse racing enthusiasts in order to determine the best ways to turn our sport around and get those stands packed again, and at the same time, entice new ownership in thoroughbred racing.
Here is your opportunity to present your ideas on what horse racing needs to do to attract fans to the track and get new owners into the sport. We live in a virtual world of racing, but I know that a lot of our players understand the real world racing environment and probably have some good ideas on what needs to happen to improve the sport.
When you entered the community site today, you probably noticed a blinking alert in the top left letting you know about this opportunity to win half-interest in a future thoroughbred champion and receive 50,000 free game points for just submitting your idea. As long as you are over the age of 21, either from that special notification or through the link from the left navigation entitled Community Special Pages - Earn Free Game Points, access the special page we set up entitled Racing Future, read the details of the contest and submit your ideas directly to the CEO of MID Development - dennismillsideacontest@racingfuture.com.
MID will review all the entries and will pick the idea that they believe can be implemented and will be effective to benefit the sport of horse racing. Remember, your idea must be focused on driving more fans to racetracks and enticing new ownership in the real world of thoroughbred racing. To receive the 50,000 free game points, your idea must be detailed, must be well-thought out and must be original. Submitting a few lines or a paragraph is not going to earn you the 50,000 free community game points.
The 50,000 free game points to everyone who submits an idea and is accepted by MID Development as a potential, realistic opportunity. They will tell us which ideas were thought out and which were just words thrown down on paper and have no real relevance and no originality. You don't have to win the contest to receive the 50,000 game points. You just have to make a solid effort, well thought-out, in a clear presentation on how we can get the stands packed again at local racing venues and entice new thoroughbred ownership.
Our players today submitted over two dozen ideas already. Some were actually well-constructed and others were outright ridiculous. There were even a few players who submitted ideas on how to help our game. This contest has nothing to do with our game - it's all about live racing.
Please take the time to visit this page in the Special Pages section of our community or through the link underneath your username in the top left navigation. We're hoping the winner of the contest does come from us, so we're counting on some really well thought-out, constructive input. We have a lot of smart players. Here's your chance to shine. From my understanding, the winner of this contest will have their chance to choose from two beautiful foals with solid bloodlines. You will own 50% of that horse and for three years never pay a single bill. We can be talking a possible graded stakes winner and a lot of money. Get your entries in. Make this community proud and win yourself a horse!

Any word on how things are
Any word on how things are going so far? Have they been happy with the responses? I thought this was an excellent opportunity to talk directly to those who make decisions and it was fun to come up with some ideas that I have had for awhile.
Submitting idea
I submitted my idea for this contest for the 50,000 points and I haven't seen it yet. It was supposed to take up to 10 days and it has been longer than that.
