I read somewhere in the forums about players wanting to be able to make suggestions. I have never had a problem with player suggestions. In fact, I welcome them. A few weeks ago, there was a player who suggested a new search methodology for the Blue and Green Restricted Tournaments. We took the player’s idea, looked at it from a technical perspective, looked at it from a player’s perspective, modified a few small functions and implemented it. We probably have implemented dozens of suggestions from our players.
When players suggest ideas, just like ideas we think of internally, initially they might sound great, but until we spend days or sometimes a week looking at the logic and the technical implications on how it might affect everything else we’re doing and what it means from a development time standpoint and is it something that benefits the entire community or just a few players, we have to be careful. Changes and updates are good – it makes the game experience better. Please feel free to start threads and discuss suggestions. Threads will not get deleted unless they contain insults, vulgarity, mis-directed comments, or just throwing others way off track (in that case, we would not delete the thread; we would delete the comment).
There are literally tens of thousands of forum threads. Less than 1% has ever been deleted. The company will not just sit by and see its name get slammed and misleading comments get posted or vulgarity expressed. But, again, we are open to threads that create constructive criticism that open up good suggestions that are debated.
Quick Game Update
The Horse Challenge Program is running 7 to 10 days behind schedule. We are working on something to significantly increase site speed. That was done on the development server. During testing, it interfered with some of the other products we were building. One of them was the players Horse Challenge Program.
I’ll be back with a full update at the end of the week.

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.....Abraham Lincoln. There but for the grace of God go I....It's a great simulation and no one or noting is perfect but the Almighty....Keep up the good leadership!
I for one must say that Puddles DOES listen to what people have to say about the game and makes changes accordingly. i have made a few suggestions to him about the game, got PM's back from him saying they will look into it and a month or 2 later the new features were there. Since i have been here at HRF there have been dozens of changes to the game that the "people" have wanted!.............. Keep up the great work HRF!!!
Why do you even care member 1 year 22 weeks 0 horses in stable not sure why you even comment or care evidently you dont even play so you have no clue.My biggest three issues are the surfaces and all the cancellations or lack of tournys with lower BSR horses and stable fees with lower bsr horses compared to the payouts on lower tournys dont add up and this site is basically turning into horses with high bsrs only rest really must be retired early regardless of how they do it does not pay to keep them because its almost impossible to find tournys for older lower bsr horses.I did what was sugested in forum email support on these issues only response i received was you comments and suggestions have been forwarded to our tech team will recive a resonse shortly that was two weeks ago still no response. Now of course they care because without players theres no game no one is saying that or at least im not but they have been many threads made on all 3 of these topics and i havent seen one reply by HRF on these issues if there was and i missed them my apoligies to HRF if not can you please answer them Thank You.
Personally, I think HRF pays too MUCH attention to the sore losers and squawking nut-jobs. Just let them vent their nonsense without comment. I'll be heeding my own advice from now on (mostly). Ladytmar is back in action and she hates seeing Forum spitball fights. I can handle the wrath of Agasha. The wrath of Ladytmar, not so much.
1 week ago I had 66 horses in my stable, now I have 26.I had to retire some real good horses because there are NO lower tourneys PERIOD...Nothing Nadda Zilch.I like the lower #s.Less Cash, and I have only 129 Blues and my 9 General horses.Ive got better at figuring out my remaining 26.Since ive got so many less in my stable.I like the bonus game, and I plan to breed a bunch more. But ill only Keep the 129s and play the Game with others lower than 121.Ive got a feeling thats whats been going on here.Race a horse for the 2 plays and retire it.Lotto fever anyway Ive got a MONSTER in Victory Roadrunner,I think I won the The Lotto on Probably Late Girl Tempo onslaught. And I only bred 4 .:)Roadrunner ran a 148 sr on 7.5 sand.Nuff said. Personally, I don't think there was a need to venture into the high end 130's and higher bsr ratings. This, in my opinion, has caused a great deal of our current problems.
I agree with vikinggod28 AND Richplenger. HRF has made some great changes to the game and it is because of strong leadership and a commitment to the players. As for whether or not someone plays the game strips them of the right to comment..NO; they have just as many rights as any of us here.
HRF does listen to the players and the tech team and support also pay close attention. I'm personally very thankful that Puddles had a dream and pursued it. This is one GREAT game!
Thank you team for the helpful changes, good work. Just wondering if it is possible to make a small adjustment. After doing the special training and puzzle for a horse, could we return back to the same horse page, at the moment it just goes back to the stable page. Also it would be a good idea, I think, to add a synthetic option for lower grade horses as I see multiplications of same surface and distance, same dates that don't get filled. Why have that trait if it can never be used, unless you go to instas, and sometimes I don't wan't to risk losing certain horses. CHEERS
Regards Greg
Would like more points upon login..(3000-4000) would be very nice...don't have the time to run so many races to get my 6k points.....also 500 points earned max per race could go up....and i had a horse 126 birth rating i could'nt get into a tourney either.....
Thank you for your consideration and empathy! may you live long and prosper in your fantasy simulation Rodger..
Thank you for your consideration and understanding! May you live long and prosper in our fantasy simulation Terri!
Some people play this game strictly for the historic horse files! Just because people don't have 20-30 horses in a stable doesn't make their opinion any less important!
Never said there opinions not important everyones has a right to voice there opinions but if they never race in tournys how can they possibly understand the issues that come with that. Some have a better ideal on what the issues are because they are actully playing. So if you play for strictly historic files as you put it maybe they should talk about that at least they would have a clue. How can you comment on tournys and issues that come with it if you never run in them do you get my point now.
<<< Never said their opinions not important everyones has a right to voice there opinions but if they never race in tournys how can they possibly understand the issues that come with that. >>>
RDRACING , I like your wording. And, you're 100% correct. And yes, opinions are just that. Opinions. Always welcome. But, sometimes you have to have more knowledge and been on the front line to voice those opinions. Otherwise your opinion doesn't carry much weight. Just my opinion. Nothing more.
I don't see why someone who doesn't own and race trainer horses can't understand the problems that trainers face, especially if they read the various forums. I understand a lot of things that I've never personally experienced and I'm sure that you do too. All Richplener said was that you can't please all the people all of the time and thanked the administration for their leadership and providing all of us with a great game.
Nothing in life is perfect and if we always expect perfection we will always be disappointed. I prefer to enjoy what I have in the present. Sure, there are always things that could be improved but pleasing everyone isn't possible. Some requests or suggestions just won't translate into program changes or will become too costly. I'd rather the game stayed the way it is than to lose it altogether. HRF does welcome positive feedback and I feel that they're doing all they can to accomodate all of their players...not just the trainers.
As Puddles mentioned, computer changes are not just a matter of pushing a button (which I'm sure everyone understands) so sometimes an answer to a question/suggestion is weeks or months away and sometimes the answer is 'no'.
If the answer is 'no' then we go on as we are...which is better than nothing!
always welcome in a business atmosphere. It makes business sense- to get a feel of how the product ( HRF) is working for the players. If nobody commented or suggest "improvements" the product (HRF) will get stale and people WILL lose interest in it.
It's obvious Puddles cares a lot about this game and he wants it to be enjoyable for everyone. Mike is the ONLY owner of ANY fantasy horse racing game on the net that that ACTUALLY responds/comments/updates to the players on a regular basis.I've played EVERY horse racing fantasy game that has ever been on the 'net.
The other horse racing fantasy games out there do not respond AT ALL- to anything a player suggests or complains about. Thus, I don't play them.
Just think how UNHAPPY we'd all be if our comments/ suggestions were UNanswered or NOT responded to. This game would have folded a long time ago.
No, I don't like all the new changes that have been made to the game recently- as I have commented on in other threads. But, HRF HAS taken into consideration and implmented player's suggestions and addiion to game play. It's not perfect- what is?- and hopefully the "bumps" in the road will even out soon. Patience is a virtue!

"And down the stretch they come!..."
In playing the jockey game, I would like to see the full number of community points we win actually credited to our accounts, not just the maximum allowed currently, which is only 500 points per race. I've heard that, in the past, the game worked like that. It could certainly be of great help to those of us players who can find but limited time to earn points and 'train' horses for tournaments.
I would just like my stables turned back on "Go"! 3 days in a row now and it's all I can do to finish 2nd in a race. Forget winning. That's my suggestion. Thanks!
About us being able to match race against our friends. That will draw aton of people in for the revenue. I can read it now Jockitchy defeats Clou509 in longest head to head battle. Somethin like that. please advise.
I agree. I think that'll be cool for online buddies to have a chance to challenge one another and brag it up when they win and talk trash when they don't. Facebook and Twitter are perfect platforms for such challenges, taunts and bragging and that should draw even more new players, or so I would imagine.
Hang on, Puddles. Hope your servers can handle the traffic. :D
