Since the release of the Yellow Trainer Tournaments, we have noticed several new trends – 1) new players are staying around longer; 2) they’re breeding new horses sooner; and 3) they’re entering other types of trainer tournaments to race against others. In other words, Yellow Tournaments are working!
There are some days where we’re running 400 to 500 Yellow Tournaments in a single day, and I expect that number to grow into the thousands per day by early Spring.
Because the Yellow Tournaments have been so successful so quickly, we have decided to tie them into the new Puzzle Program. For those unfamiliar with the Puzzle Program, after each tournament ends, win or lose, players will be given the opportunity to solve a puzzle. Players will be shown seven items associated with the care of your horse. It is the player’s job to figure out, in order of preference, the most popular items your horse prefers. Matching anywhere from 3 to 7 of those items returns instant prizes with the top prize for solving the puzzle at $5,000. To participate in the Puzzle Program, you simply have to enter your horses in tournaments. The more tournaments you enter, the more Puzzle entries you have. To motivate players to enter higher-end tournaments, we’re rewarding multiple entries for General Tournaments. For example, entering a Grade 1 General Tournament (a tournament whose preliminary races consist of all Grade 1 races) will automatically get you 5 puzzle plays compared to entering a Yellow Restricted Tournament where you will be required to run three Yellow Tournaments to earn a single puzzle play.
All General Tournaments reward multiple puzzle plays with each entry. The Puzzle Program is a game changer. It takes our game to an entirely new level of play. Because of that, along with the popularity of the Yellow Tournaments, we have decided to tie the Yellow Tournaments into the Puzzle Program, but obviously at a lower reward level than players playing in the more traditional General, Green, Blue and Red Restricted Trainer Tournaments
Bigshot2, you can find the yellow tournaments by going up tournaments and races and then clicking on available trainer races. From there, click on the list and scroll all the way down to yellow tournaments. If you need any help, let me know.
How does a trainer know that they have successfully solved the training puzzle for their horse?
Yellow are fine they give you a chance to get some value before retiring lesser lights. One thing however any chance of being able to filter them from ended trainer races results, no biggy just would be nice for ease of use.
Thank you NYRACINGGRL for the info.. Fortunately there is now a selection for yellow tournaments when the type of race is requested. Unfortunately my nag is to old and decrepit for this type of tournament. Such is life.
