First, let me address the site speed issue because I know how frustrating it is. Starting Monday, some of the best Drupal developers will be handling our issue, looking at every piece of code and making sure that the performance of this site is greatly increased. I will spare no expense to have this done and done immediately.
The amount of hardware (servers) we’re utilizing right now to run our site would be enough, under normal conditions, to handle 50 times the traffic we would ever receive. So, we’re definitely doing everything we can to get through the next painful few days until experts take over.
I’ve read every post in the forums. There have been some good criticism, some good suggestions and some good feedback. The criticism and the suggestions were evaluated all day today. With that said, starting Monday, as a priority, the following tasks will be addressed:
We will build a second stable page giving players an option. The second stable page will favor bigger stables and will proved a simple, straightforward list of all your horses, including their status and, if they’re in a tournament, has it begun. If it has begun, how many races are available and how many races have already run. In addition, if the tournament has started and there are races available to enter, there will be a direct link to click that will pop open another page where you can enter the remaining races for that tournament. On top of all this, we are going to incorporate all the training tools as part of this page as well. I expect this will substantially help players with big stables to manage, even more efficiently than in the past, their barns.
Two other suggestions that I loved – one was under the Recently Ended Trainer Tournaments, the option to filter for your horses only. This feature will be added, and the same feature will also be added under Trainer Tournament Races Soon to End.
I’m also having them work on making sure the View Upcoming Trainer Tournament tool works in a more efficient manner.
I know there have been a lot of other good suggestions. Right now, we need to focus on the site performance and features that help players manage fairly large stables efficiently.
More updates in a couple of days. Hopefully, every day we continue to improve.
Great job updating the community on whats going on and taking care of the issues players have and site has promptly.
These are the exact updates I was hoping for. Looking forward to the new stable page next week.
MIKE the new addition to the breeding process is BLOODY AWESOME however i feel it is a mistake so you better fix it before i rip you off to much LMAO..
i have bred 3 horses since the upgrade.. had all 3 delivered to stable page...
results stable page
bsr 128
bsr135
bsr110
what happens now is i update horses in my game and in game they show in order as
game....bsr98 in stable 128
bsr108 135
bsr84 110
I vetted the 110 in stable page and it became a 84 same as in game.. I think the system in now showing me both original bsr in stable but showing me what i will get after vet in game in advance... I LOVE IT!!!!! but ya better fix it mike,, i could get addicted to cheating LMAO.
Would it be possible to give the exercise riders instructions ? If so, could those instructions be allowed to permanently affect the horse's behavior, so that the horse would behave more like you desire in races?.
I bred one horse today. It was 125.7 and I bred directly into the stable. First time I did because of the above post. In the game client it is 83.9. How do I get the correct value over to the game client? I can't figure that out. I've updated like always but it's still showing 83.9. I can't train anything that way.
ok mike i will do.. just need to work out how to get a screen shot. lol...
just took a picture of my in game horse list and sent it off to support , attention puddles..
hopefully they can already see the bsr in my stable page.
Thanks mike.
so ive seen the made up stories about this great site. now lets be honest with your paying members please. just because your friends post lies about how great this site is doesnt mean you can ignore the real players here . we all chat with each other and everyone is screaming for help. we all feel ripped off and cheated and ill explain why not that you wouldnt know this already but moneys more important aye. the site goes down for ages meanwhile all my races that i paid a lot of money for are out of reach for me to play a part in so i lose all my points and races and get nothing back or even a message saying wtf going on. now we have this new version which i cant do anything with because it loads with errors on page every time. this cant be fixed by me microsoft tells me as its your issue not ours. so how the hell are other people having such a great time with the new version but us real players cant even play. lies lies lies. its so slow i cant do anything and its all loaded with errors. despite every help place i talk to about it saying pull out now dont spend another cent i still want this game to work. although all my buddies are saying the posts on here are from your friends tricking people into spending money on a site that doesnt work id like to hear from you the fkn truth for once. is this site running? if so why am i getting errors on page? what happend to the race points while system was down? but mostly the errors man. its a problem from your end and we cant fix it why the hell are some people not having errors and playing while most of us are down and out? please for gods sake dont skip these questions again answer them all in detail as ive spent so much cash on here.
@knolan:
Migrating the whole community to a new platform and at the same time adding a bunch of new features is a big undertaking and there are launch kinks to iron out on many ends.
We try to be very open and upfront about the state of the site and open issues, listen to the community and try to address all open urgent issues asap.
Now there are different kinds of issues:
1. Actual bugs on site or game functionality.
2. Issues people with weaker machines or older/custom configured browsers have.
Regarding 1: We have to and do work on those to address them as quickly as possible one by one, each one we see popping up.
Regarding 2:
A number of members seem to have issues entering races or using other parts of the site when using Internet Explorer 9.
Regarding entering tournaments/races for some of them it seems to help trying it with right click to open instead of left click.
For many members it helped to download and use Google Chrome ( www.google.com/chrome/ ) instead of Internet Explorer.
We will push for making all site features work well on IE etc, too of course but for the meantime i suggest instead of using Internet Explorer and instead of launching a browser from the old windows desktop game client best use Google Chrome, open a new browser window in it and go to http://www.horseracegame.com/community
using chrome and manage your community features, stable etc that way.
so good to have a reply that helps. i did all you said and now its running fine. just a little slow. but that doesnt worry me. would be great to have a live chat or something on here for help but i guess for now your focused on building this game up to be running perfect. thank you for your problem solving its so good to be told and also working again. ty

I'm glad it works for you now using Chrome =)
And yeah, the team is working on improving speed and performance so that all should get a bit better every day =)
And yup, the chat will be brought back asap, too, but first we have to get the core site functionality smooth and fast =)
A few things could be the reason for this.
I'm not sure if you already have the unity web player installed on your laptop.
Can you see any other unity 3d content on your laptop?
If not/not sure go to http://unity3d.com/webplayer
and install the unity web player.
If that still doesn´t help and you have other issues with the site, too then in most cases that´s due to an old/ custom configured browser.
In that case best first install Chrome ( www.google.com/chrome/ ) and then using that
install the unity player ( http://unity3d.com/webplayer ) and then use Chrome to browse the community, manage your stable etc.
Those are features that I look forward to very much. For example, yesterday's update you mentioned all the race files are fixed now. Thats great the only thing is , I believe we have no quick way of knowing which races we had ran in and therefore which ones we had missed. Once you had that "My horses only" feature into the filter of Tournaments recently ended or even also for the Tournaments ending soon list, then we would be able to go back and go through all our races for 1, 2 , or x amount of days and catch up.
Thanks very much, i love this game, but once you have the new upgrade and add these features and a few more bugs hammered out it will be evey better!
PS. Incorporating a spot where it saves (and archives) and displays the jockey settings would save alot of big stables hours of work and the need to use excel spread sheets to store that info. It would be great if that info could be stored by the game , that way we could manage bigger and bigger stables faster and more easily. Thats pretty much the only thing keeping me from buying another 50 horses. Takes me hours to save and record all the jockey instructions in Microsoft Excel.
Also of course the thing I read people posting in the forum about selection your own default jockey instructions so if you don't set them, they follow your own default, not whatever it is now. hard coded to something.
Thanks again! Can't wait to buy another 200 horses ! C'mon 250+ horse stable trophy !
