Online Virtual Horse Racing Game - Player Responses & Another Update

Online Virtual Horse Racing Game - Player Responses & Another Update

Yesterday we received an overwhelming response from so many players who wanted to help run some final testing on our soon-to-be-released virtual horse racing game. I want to personally thank everyone who responded. I also want to thank all of those who sent messages of support and understand the complexity of the change we're about to undertake.

Support will be sending out a private message tomorrow to the individuals we selected to participate in the last round of testing of our new free virtual horse racing game. You will be asked to create an account from scratch, but we will have to clear your email addresses and IPs from our system temporarily. Then, once you create the new account, we will credit your account with game points so you can try your luck at breeding a few horses and entering a few tournaments. You will not be able to install another version of the download client, so your testing will be limited strictly to the web portion of our game. Again, thank you to everyone for their support and responses.

I've read in the forums several posts that concern me. Some people believe the new game will improve their horses. Some believe the new game will give them new tournaments and others believe there will be new features. What we are releasing is the foundation and building blocks for the best horse racing game in the world. All the features are the same. None of the horses will improve or change because of the web game. There has been no change to the game engine logic at this point. What we have changed is the core presentation of the game, a simplified navigation, much enhanced look and a web viewer to actually watch the races online without downloading the client. All of these ridiculous posts are obviously assumptions from those who have not read what I wrote or have been misinformed by others.

Once the web game is released, we can then begin releasing a whole slew of new features, which includes new tournaments, new training tools, and much more engaging content. What has made this project so difficult is that we have literally plowed down the house that was built of wood and laid a concrete and steel foundation to expand our game far beyond in ways we never thought possible. There is an enormous push to social media and mobile. All of this is part of our longer-term strategy.

For all those who feel they have been 'wronged' due to the delays, I apologize. Slower technology development and unforeseen human occurrences, along with obstacles that were also unforeseen, happened. Boeing delayed their jets for years, Microsoft delayed its product launches and the list goes on and on. I'm all about building for the future, and the future requires a little pain and a lot of money on our part to make all of these wonderful enhancements a reality for everyone to enjoy.

Horse Racing Simulation is the most dedicated company and is the only horse racing game developer I know of that has invested not only every dime it's taken in in revenue, but half-a-million dollars above and beyond that to make all of this and future development a reality.

Just quit promising

Just quit promising dates...problem solved. But its your baby...do what ya gotta do :)

Is this the new web community or is that still coming out?

Great Game Coming Soon

Thanks again Mike and to all of you at HRF for having a vision for the future. You are so right about Microsoft and Boeing. Once you release the product a lot of the bickering should subside on the delay hopefully.

new version

I hope the new version is a winner. An enormous effort to attempt to change the presentation. The disappointment is in the many false release dates.

Injustice, that is what this

Injustice, that is what this really is. In a court of law, a judge would side with the players of this game, not the owners. I really hate injustices. I hate being treated wrongly, that is why I am upset. Right now ATT is writing up a check to millions for not giving them what they promised/paid for.

As the other business owners on here, I have been late on things a few times. I have promised something on a Monday and not gotten it out until a Wednesday. I told the customer I am sorry for not getting it to you in time, it WILL be there on Wednesday. It was there on Wednesday, I made sure I could have the job done on Tuesday and gave myself and extra day just to make sure I kept the customer happy. I also either gave them something extra or gave them a discount because of the delay. Every time.

Ask yourself, if you have what your customers were promised ready and available would you hold it hostage to benefit yourself? That is what HRF is doing. That is an injustice. BUT to make it worse, HRF has promised this update time and time again and now when it is ready they hold back on us to make a few more dollars.

When your making excuses, make sure you add in the latest one, we have the update in hand and are not releasing it because we want to gather up these new customers to make more money while we forsake the people that made all of this possible. These ads that are driving new customers are not unforseen, there is not denying that.

Keep the update on hold

Personally, this is truly entertaining. Watching this back and forth. LOL.
If HRF keeps promising the update and then snatching it back as the community members try to grab it, Flyingdaaka would be pleased.
This reminds Flyingdaaka of a scene in three stooges, where someone offers to shake the stooges hand and keeps pulling it back as the stooge tries to shake the hand over and over again, and the stooge get's angrier and angrier with each pull back. LOL. Yes, the stooge. That's a perfect description indeed.
The Great Game is fantastic as it is. Update/no update....it is irrelevant. The only known constant is that Flyingdaaka shall participate. Participate in jockey tournaments, trainer tournaments, and the forums, whatever else there is to offer.

Got To Agree With Daaksey

But the REAL fun is going to come after the new game IS released. People are setting themselves up for a huge disappointment.

I don't know what they think they're going to see, but it isn't what they think. lol
Maybe they think the horses are going to jump through the screen and you can feed them carrots and stuff.
I've been told by The Don that I am not even going to notice the difference.
And whatever it is, it is bound to be anti climatic anyway.

But injustice!!!???
INJUSTICE!?
REALLY!?

Holy cow I wish I lived such a pampered life.

Go take a stroll around the pediatric ward at Sloan-Kettering. There you will see some real injustice.

These delays are a mild discontentment at worst~~

Going mobile

This doesn't interest me in the least. However, I did want to see what ones stable area looked like if you have 25 horses or more. While waiting, I'm holding onto horses that I want to get rid of and this adds up.
Plus, I thought, Puddles said that there would be about 6 to 8 tracks that look more realistic than they do now. There was mention of a post parade and winners circle cerimonies. Plus mention of a better horse graphic.
Maybe I misunderstood.

Definition of injustice:

1 : absence of justice : violation of right or of the rights of another : unfairness
2 : an unjust act : wrong

Jaycat, just because what HRF is doing is not as horrid as the situation you propose does not mean it is not an injustice. If you can argue that the misleading update days for almost a year and making the backbone of this game wait so more money can be made is right or fair then go for it. If not, it is clearly an injustice.

Your comment about pampered life is just childish, you can look the definition of that up yourself. You know nothing about me or my life so do not ASSume that you do.

We have waited this long for

We have waited this long for the updates, we can wait a few days longer.

Also, wasn't there going to be an update in the silks section for creating your own silks ?

Blue slop

Is there an approximate time for blue slop tournaments? I have been paying stable fees on otherwise fairly useless horses thinking that it was about to happen.

jaycat's picture

Bbaffert & "Injustice".

Your definition(s) of the word are right and true, and by showing them you prove my point.

1) Your "Rights" have not been violated in anyway whatsoever.

2) There isn't any "Unfairness" being placed upon you. ALL players are waiting for the new game.

3) The fact that I am childish (And proud of it!) is immaterial to the fact that you are flying out of the stratosphere with exaggeration regarding your use of the word "Injustice" as it pertains to this particular situation.

Wondering

I am wondering if the bit program will be implemented into the new game as well as the auction program.

True fans are patiently waiting!

Just do what you have to do. We can still play this great game and wait for whatever else comes along. Take your time! Thanks again!

Sharon

As I recall, there was some talk not too long ago about the bit and shoe options will become a reality in our game soon. However, there hasn't been any talk whatsoever about auctions. My feelings are that they (HRF) changed ther mind about auctions. JMHO
There used to be much discussion from, Puddles about auctions coming our way soon, then, nothing. This was about two years ago.
Remember!!!

New version

I'll wait with the rest of the players. All that I want to know is with the release of this newer version and the increased size of the server, will the horses now run closer to the speed,( SR's) posted in training verses the speeds ran in actual tournaments?

This is not an injustice.

Unless you are just unbelievably unrealistic. I'm sure this update will come out eventually. You are clearly expecting too much and setting yourself up for a dissapointment no matter what happens. Get it right. Take your time. Headaches from bugs and glitches later will be more dissapointing. Not waiting for this to come out. You just don't plow that kind of scratch into a project like this to sit on it. Get Real! Obviously there is more going on than meets the eye. Geez man, are you losing sleep over this too?

No sleep lost. I have 2

No sleep lost. I have 2 horses now and barely even visit this site. And they are sitting on the game, they made that clear. Nothing else really to say, it is clear what HRF is and is not. Just remember, DO NOT expect them to keep promises, DO NOT expect them to meet deadlines. They just do not do those kind of things. If they kept promises this conversation and many more would not exist.

new game release

Puddles, I realize that there are many things that are out of your control in game development, unexpected bugs, car wrecks, etc. However, one thing that is in your control is communication-when deadlines are missed, at least an apology and update on the new status is a great way to soothe ruffled feathers. I am still wondering about the blue slop races- what is the expected date of their start? It affects stable strategy so it is not an unfair question.
