It was a great Triple Crown racing season for us and with all of the partnership programs in place, we’re still benefiting from a good number of new player sign-ups. I expect that to continue for the next couple of days and until that happens, we are not going to transition to our new web game platform. The down time for the new web platform is at least 12 hours, maybe substantially longer. This is uncharted waters for us, even though we’ve done several simulated transitions, a live transition will be slightly more unique. We’re also running TV ads on TVG through this weekend. I tried to move those ads, but was unable to change the schedule.
In the meantime, while we wait out these last few days, no big deal, I’m inviting 2 to 3 players to experience our web game. If you are a seasoned player with more than 6 months experience on our site, run a stable with at least 10 horses, and have not had any significant confrontations in any manner with any management, please go ahead and private message me and I’ll be back to you shortly.
We’ve already had 2 players access it and would like to have a couple more just in case we’re missing something,what we have to keep in mind here is that the amount of content we’re transitioning over is enormous. I never realized how big our site was, how much data we have, how many pages we have, until this entire transition process started taking place.
Thanks for your patience. We are just a few steps from the finish line.
Mike
Guess that counts me out! (LOL)

Interesting. So make your loyal, veteran and more established players, many here before the trainer game even came out, continue to wait and wait and wait after numerous delays ? So kick the longtime supporters of your game to the curb once again so you don't inconvenience any potential new player from signing up ?
Love seeing the new player signups, so a few more days for the new site is just fine. Great job everyone at HRF! you all are probably just as excited as your players about the new site being just days away.
~~~I had to stop driving my car for a while... the tires got dizzy~~~
Every time we reach a target date for the new version of the game there is a reason why it will be delayed.Now it is new players signing up.What will be next?I hope this is the final delay and the HRF team go ahead and change to the new version.Looking forward to playing the new version before the end of 2012.
Another delay....no way!!! Mike come on man, seriously? If there actually is a "new platform" and you are actually gonna install the darn thing, set a freakin date and just do it. Wont the new players be just as frustrated when they sign up, start learning to play and then have a delay as not being able to sign up due to improvements? I mean your gonna get them here and THEN shut the game down on them..why not just put a sign on the door when they go to the website that explains whats going on...just makes no sense to me. This is the kind of stuff that led me to make the comment awhile back about there always being a reason for another delay...and I was 100% accurate. My guess is there is actually a problem switching information of some sort and everyone is going to have to "start over" to some extent. I hope I am wrong but I foresee more delays, sorry to burst bubbles :(
Is this the new web community or is that still coming out?
I really do. I want a better web interface to this fun game. I know that it has been delayed forever, but in this case, I understand Mike delaying it a little longer. HRF paid for tv advertising, and they are getting new users. With a web product, the worst thing a new user can see is a "Down for maintenance" web page, after typing in a URL they copied down from a tv ad. Very unlikely they will ever visit again. Mike said they tried to move the ads but couldn't. So he is just trying to get the best return on the investment in advertising. Sucks for us that have been wanting the new game forever, but I understand this delay. If it were my web business, I'd make the same decision.
I have been here since April 2008, I have tryed the trainer game - but did not find it as fun as the jockey game. I would also be spending more money at HRF if new horse files were available (none since 2009). It seems to me that the Trainer game participants are what the whole game is now slanted for. I think this is an outstanding game - but all players should have some goodies, not just Trainer Game players. For instance - when pre-built races are offered ( I have about 100 on file), pre-make the sliks for each horse like you do for the spots on NBC. That would be cool and add a flash of the real life race ( I love those simulations you have done for t.v.). That would thrill jockey players like me. If you do this, I will promise to become a V.I.P. I really do not see any advantage to it at this point however (no new horse files available). Also, I appreciate the work You and the HRF Team are putting into this game - but, like some have stated, each target date comes and goes. I think Breeders' Cup 2011 was the first one. I agree with two fellow players, just shut this game down - put up a sign, and get the new game going. Also, did you ever think that some established players like me may be more inclined to become V.I.P.s if we like what we SEE. Show us something FAST.
Agreed Mikey1. I have been waiting to spend money on new horse files but I doubt we will ever see them....
They still advertise buy the all horse files and get new ones free for a year but have not produced any new horse files in 3 years.
They have abandoned that part of the game and only listen to and support the trainers game side. Fustrating for the other players
to be abandoned!!!!!!!!!!!
The problem I see is HRF knew the update was coming, HRF knew they were taking ads out, but HRF still told us update coming around derby, then update around preakness, then update right after belmont, wait, update when? Past experience should have made it very clear to HRF that either getting the updates done before the Derby (like maybe close to a year ago when they promised them) or to not keep promising us all updates during this busy time because they want new customers. It is not really about the update anymore, it is about the horrible mismanagement of this game we pay to play. If I knew this would be how we were treated I would have cancelled my account when the updates did not come around Breeders Cup. Instead, being a fan, I got my stable up to 25 so I could get my own barn or whatever and waited patiently. I guess that makes me STUPID for believing in HRF.
