Puzzle Program Update & Congratulations to All of Our Winners

Puzzle Program Update & Congratulations to All of Our Winners

We have paid out over $3,500 so far (points and money) in the Puzzle Program. Congratulations to all the winners! Remember, we just paid out $15,000 in winnings last month plus another 4 or 5 Visa gift card winners tonight from the Blues. We love the excitement and we’re blown away by the thousands of Yellow Tournaments that are being run daily, but the Puzzle Program had an objective. The concern I have is that no one is saving their horses for the other types of tournaments and that we CANNOT let happen.

We are going to still allow horses to play the Puzzle Program after Yellow Tournaments, but after six (6) tournaments, not three (3). This will push the majority of newly-bred horses into other trainer tournaments like Green, Blues and Generals to earn the puzzle plays. Remember, the Generals allow multiple plays for a completion of a single tournament. This will motivate players to enter the heart and soul of our game – Blues, Greens, Reds and General Tournaments, which was the whole idea of the program initially. We don’t want to hurt our main tournaments - the concept here is to get them filled. Under the current structure, Yellow Tournaments would affect entries into Reds, Blues, Greens and Generals, and, again, that we cannot let happen. Once we make this adjustment, players will push their horses into our main tournaments.

I’ve been told that two players matched 7 correctly (the full puzzle). One of those players was a VIP member and received a substantial reward, but if his horse had been fully-nominated, that would have been a $10,000 win. The other player was a non-VIP player and received substantially less for his win. If there was ever a time to be a VIP, now is that time. As explained, if that player had been a VIP with a fully-nominated horse, the payout would have been $10,000.

The Puzzle Program is doing its job - getting horses bred. Now all we need to do is move those bred horses into our main tournaments. Over the next three to four weeks, we will be releasing other features in conjunction with the Puzzle Program that further motivate entries into the heart and soul of our game – the Red, Green and Blue Tournaments and, most important, the General Trainer Tournaments.

We’re moving in the right direction and are excited for everyone who is participating. As we continue to build a better game with a more engaging experience, we look forward to a rapid expansion of our player base, as well.

Again, congratulations to all of our winners keep up the good work!

Just my opinion but yellow

Just my opinion but yellow tournaments were created for players who want instant action and not seasoned players, but because of the puzzle program a lot of your regulars are playing. Very recently i had entered 9 blue tours due to start on the same day, and only 3 filled and this was no coincidence given the puzzle program had just started. Make the puzzles only for red, green, blue and generals and then see these tours fill.

this is my reason for the

this is my reason for the change. Remember the other tournaments like red, blue, green and generals return more puzzle players then yellow. As of now a lot more per completed tournament. Grade one generals return 4 puzzle player per completed tournament where you now have to play six yellow tournaments to get a single puzzle play.

The puzzle program will NOW be big for stables playing in our core tournaments like green, red, blue and generals. If the yellows continue to effect we will raise the qualifying number even further. We want horses in greens, Blues, and Generals and so do the main stables

The sooner you play the MAIN Tournaments the sooner you get a lot MORE of puzzle plays

I bred 4 horses yesterday out

I bred 4 horses yesterday out of Girl Tempo, all in the range 100 to 128. After training and identifying where best to place them i discovered NO ENTRIES for their up coming tours. I repeat myself, yellows killing this game.

Puzzle

I am glad that Puddles is adjusting the puzzle program in regards to the yellow tournaments. I love the yellows for what they are intended, as well as the puzzle program. I don't see the yellows killing anything, but the puzzle game being allowed with the yellows one day could. This is only the third day of the puzzle program and it is all new and shiny to the players. This initial excitement might level off down the road. That remains to be seen.

Its Like when a New store

Its Like when a New store opens up everyone has to check it out as another option of where to shop. After they go to the NEW they come back to whats comfortable for them, The yellows I've played with horses i would of retired because the BSR was soooooooooooooo low but instead i got a few points out of the nag also a low BSR with a peak age of 5 years old takes a lot of points to get them to five and probably wouldn't take the time. so you could race in yellows to do that then when they hit peak age your ready to roll in a blue or green or red. before the yellows came out i noticed a LOT or races wouldn't come close to filling.

I completely agree with

PepperKid.

The Yellows have been killing the Greens, Reds and Blue Tournaments especially. The Generals have been affected too.

I had to retire a horse because, after 3 consecutive tries to enter my horse in green and blue tournies ( at different distances, conditions), the tournaments didn't fill. That's almost a month trying to enter a tournament that NEVER filled.

Stable fees must be paid regardless..............

Unfortunately, it wasn't economically feasible for me to keep the horse. Had the Greens, Blues or Reds filled I would have kept him.

Thank you, Puddles for trying to get players back into the heart of the game- the Green, Blue, Red AND general tournies.

Sure hope this works!!

What about Tournament Fees?

the thing about entering the restricted/general tournaments to get puzzle plays is, you have to enter your horse in the maximum number of available qualifying races to get a puzzle play.

here's my problem... a blue tournament costs 5500 to enter and 3000 for each race (up to 3 to qualify). that's 8500 for just one race. the 4th place prize is only around 3000. if you enter two qualifying races and spend around 11000 on the tournament, ONLY the first place prize in the final will make you any profit.

now i know that #1: the more horses (than the minimum) that enter, the higher the prize payouts. IF that happens. and #2: tournaments are *supposed* to be a points-sink.

but honestly, what is my motivation to drop all those points on a tournament with very little chance of any decent reward? placing in the finals just to get 'at least i recouped half my entry fee costs' isn't doing it for me. :/

to be further honest (and yes, i AM a skinflint!), having the opportunity to play a puzzle with a small chance of winning some points is also not motivating me to spend points to put my horses in the maximum number of qualifiers in a tournament. if my horse can't qualify in 1(green) or 2(blue) races, he probably can't place in the finals, anyway.

i don't know, maybe it's just me? i don't think the tournament payouts have to be insanely high, especially for 3rd and 4th place. but maybe the ratio of entry fees vs payouts could be looked at?

btw, i think the puzzle program IS really cool, and i think the way it is implemented is fine. i look forward to trying it out, when i have a horse that qualifies. :)

I understand what your

I understand what your saying, This is why some players don't keep any horses that wont run in generals, your high BSR horses, i don't know if you have noticed but very very few of theses nags are very consistent. in a green i'm in, my horse finished last then first so i'm in the final, if i ran a torny your way it would be over, i think if your looking for a 1 race thats worth points try a insta.

yellows hurting long term players

I agree with the general feeling about yellows hurting other tournys.. I think alot of it is obviously the instant racing action and the fact you dont have to enter in a regular blue/red/green/general tournament that lasts 1 wk or longer. I keep most all the horses i breed regardless of BSR as long as they are competitive, and i find them to be racing once monthly at the max becz races dont fill & cancel. Its also hurting the payout of points in the tourny finals becz there are less entrys. Hopefully the new yellow tourny fad will fade out soon. I dont even get the whole puzzle thing (kind of confusing unless u try it) and dont want to waste a good horse entering it over & over to get some puzzle prize. Wish some features could be a little clearer!

I'd like to know...

... where to read up on the rules of the new Yellow Tourneys. I thought I read something, now I can't locate what I read. I'm wondering how our horses age when raced in the Yellow Tourneys. If a horse is a 2 year old and races in 3 Yellow Tourneys, afterward, is the horse then a 3 year old in the next Tournament it enters, no matter what kind of Tourney it is, or is it a 3 year old in only the next Yellow Tourney it enters? Now that may sound like a stupid question, but, well then, just call me stupid. But I'd like to know and I don't know where to go to read up on it. Help?

Exciting but ......

Exciting to have a new Horse Puzzle Program but too bad if people who cannot run the 3D web like me cannot participate since every time i click on the horse's name it will bring me to the 3D web :( or maybe there is another way to play the Puzzle?
