We’re adding a new feature next week that will automatically regenerate popular General Tournaments. Currently, we automatically regenerate General Tournaments based on a specific surface. Once these reach a certain level of entries, another one automatically regenerates itself. Again, this feature only works for certain surfaces.
The new feature we’re building will actually regenerate tournaments requested, voted and approved by the players on all surfaces. The regeneration will be based on what percentage of the tournament fills and what percentage of the horses that entered the tournament are still eligible for a similar tournament (in other words, still fit the same age category) once the current tournament they’re in completes. All the players who have entered that tournament and are still eligible, will automatically be sent an invitation as soon as the tournament Is regenerated. This is done when the initial tournament begins. Therefore, in theory, if you have a horse racing, for example, on soft turf at a certain distance, if that requested tournament fills past 80% and more than 50% of the entrants are still eligible based on age, the tournament will self-generate and send out a new invitation. That new tournament will start within a week of the first tournament ending. This new streamlined process will help players who have a lot of General Tournament horses.
On another note, we were ready to go live with the new core Drupal code that will speed up the site significantly. At the last minute, we realized we were having issues with the forums. Certain content was duplicating itself. We were also having issues with players logging out and then trying to log back in. Both of these issues are related to each other and is part of a caching process. We're hoping to have these issues resolved by Monday. It’s very disappointing to me not to have the new enhanced site released because it is so much faster, and I know everyone is going to enjoy it. Just hang in there a few more days. We’re very, very close.
Puddles
I am having trouble logging in and out of the site for the past couple of days. It acts like my user name/password doesn't exist. I reload the page , enter my log in info, and then it works. Annoying but I'm glad to know HRF is getting a handle on it and it'll be fixed.
