Two of the biggest stars in horse racing go to post Saturday making it one of the most exciting racing days we've had all year. In fact, I'm more excited about tomorrow's racing than I was for this year's Derby.

Zenyatta - In my mind, the best mare ever to step foot on the racetrack goes for win number 18! She'll start tomorrow in the Grade 1 Clement Hirsch at Del Mar. Though she's won this race twice before, if you remember, at the 16th pole last year she looked like she was going to be defeated. Zenyatta finally found her best stride and a clear path and won by a short head in a very tight photo finish. Zenyatta will only be facing five other mares, so the compact field should give her clear sailing when jockey Mike Smith says 'go'. I just got back from Del Mar Racetrack and the weather was absolutely beautiful and the racing as exciting as always.

The 4-year-old superstar Quality Road is back in action tomorrow at Saratoga in the Grade 1 Whitney Stakes. Quality Road has really been sensational this year and I look forward to him trying to make amends at this year's Breeders' Cup Classic that will be run at Churchill Downs in early-November.

If these two horses stay healthy, they might end up meeting each other in the race of the year, the 2010 Breeders' Cup Classic. I'm looking at these two races tomorrow as prep races for two of the best horses in training right now. In my mind, it's not about Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta. It's about Quality Road and Zenyatta. That could be the race of the decade.

We are definitely in the height of summer racing. The fans are flocking to both Saratoga and Del Mar with both tracks reporting solid, consistent weekend crowds. Yes, there's no doubt about it - we are in the height of our summer horse racing season and tomorrow's two races with Zenyatta and Quality Road make that obvious.
