After I released the first revision (2nd overall video) in what would later become The SECRETARIAT Project, I started having a little fun with Windows Movie Maker. I started tinkering with the title and credits generator and, through trial and error, discovered a way to do a mini-opening title sequence that sort of resembled Superman The Movie. In between the second and third releases I had gotten my hands on the audio of the last quarter-mile of the 1973 Preakness, so I decided that I would use selected audio clips from that recording in combination with the short opening title sequence. The truth is that I had just recently viewed Rocky III, and in that film's opening title sequence part of the audio mix as we see the title and the championship belt is audio from the fight from Rocky II, so I figured it might work. Notice that in my naivete I referred to Belmont Park as "Belmont Racetrack". As I look back on this video that's a real eyesore! I stuck with the short sequence from the track "Growing Up" to mark the race and also added a short closing credit sequence at the end, set also to an excerpt from "Growing Up". At this point I knew that I would be taking another crack at this, so I mentioned for the first time that there will be more videos to come. I still didn't have the idea of an organized project; it's just that I did realize that I could improve the quality of the Belmont production, like the drafts of a book report. Here's the third installment in what would later become The SECRETARIAT Project:
Stay tuned for the next entry in this series because the key concept in the whole project was realized in the next video.
