Hard to believe, but it's been 35 years since the big horse blew through the Triple Crown like a Tasmanian Devil. His birthday was on March 30th, so I am a couple days late in posting but hey, better late than never! Here's a little sample of his exploits for your eyes and ears:
The Triple Crown races are fast approaching, and this horse brings back fond memories for those who saw him run. He also amazes those who didn't, and his popularity is as strong today as it was back in 1973.

Happy Birthday
Happy birthday to the greatest horse that ever lived!
Man o' War
Well I still think that Man o' War was better but happy birthday to Secretariat!
Time Flies!
It's crazy that it's been 35 years already! Doesn't seem like that long ago at all. Happy birthday Secretariat!
Yes, he could run fast
but could he work a 24 hour shift?
He was just amazing!
There's just no other horse like him!
I love the Superfortress!!!
What it must have been like to see him run!
Just to have seen him in person grazing would have been something. Wow, that neck of his is really thick! I never really noticed that until recently.
Eddie Sweat and Charlie Davis
Boy, both of those guys were clothes horses! Neither one of them would've had a problem in a disco, that's for sure!
Darth Vader is a Nubian GOD!!!
This is really cool!
I'm sitting here on my lunch break watching this and it's awesome! I'm going to go to Belmont this year, I think.
"...Davis to the 10, to the 5, TOUCHDOWN!!!"
I wish...
How cool would it have been to see Secretariat? Anybody here get a chance to ever see him in person? That was a bit before my time.
I had the chance
but Saturdays are big days for cabbies. I had Guido get me a win ticket on the #2 horse, though. I still have it.
Yes
You sure aren't kidding. Just reading peoples' accounts of what it was like is thrilling!
